Synopsis
In her last life, Qu Zhi tried her best to be a good wife who was sensible and did not cause trouble, a filial and good daughter who helped her family, and a good mother who accompanied her children. However, Qu Zhi worked hard and suffered all her life. When she was about to die, she realized that in the end, all she got back for her hard work were complaints. Her husband complained that she was an idle, rich wife all day long who wasn’t satisfied with her happiness at home, and that she was a greedy woman. But after decades of marriage, her husband had a firm, deadly hold on all her money, and she didn’t even have a dime to her name, nor a property to call her own. Every time she asked for money, he would trample all over her self-esteem. Her husband’s cold and sarcastic words made her unable to lift her head, and his friends would demean her while drinking wine, making her tremble with anger. This man had once said he would take care of her, yet he turned a blind eye! Those people focused on her happiness as a topic, and made a joke out of it. Even her three children resented her for her uneven love towards everyone, and their relationship only became more strained as time passed. She had spent her whole life as a loner, and she had nothing. Lying on the operation table, Qu Zhi thought that if she could do it all over again, she wouldn’t be a housewife. She wouldn’t have given her second daughter away, and she wouldn’t take care of her blood-sucking relatives. She wouldn’t marry her indifferent, cold husband either! When she next opened her eyes, she was back to twenty years in the past. Her eldest daughter was still in elementary school, and her second daughter had been in her belly for several months…

I don't like FL. At. All. I don't really know about her past life, but the first few chapters insinuate that she gave her child away in that life. that aside, in this 'reborn' life, i don't like her either. she seeks praise from everyone, gives her daughter whatever the child asks for and mingles in things she shouldn't, imho. about the child: she asks for something, she gets it in this life. hello, spoiled brat? yet in the last life she gave the child literally nothing. is it so hard to choose a middle path as a parent? to bring up a balanced child? about mingling: she helped the wife of her husband's business partner find out who his mistress was, yet knowing the man was dangerous. is she stupid or what? even if you mingle, you should have taken precautions... there is more i don't like about her. i also don't like that ML and FL are still together. after decades of cold violence and neglect in the past life, she is still with him. why? someone commented that she did something in c22 and c23, which should have made him divorce her in the past life. i did not read that far, but i don't like her in either life 🙈🙈 my review: it is not a bad story per se. i think many should like it, if they like a rebirth slice of life, 90thies setting. i also like that theme, but not this story. 2.3/5

i'm sorry author , i'm droping this novel here. Even though i liked this novel for initial idea but the way of FL doesn't suit my taste. Also i'm kind of disapointed to know the way story is going. May be my vision for story is different. But this is not my cup of tea. I'm just frustated with FL
This story is very familiar to a novel I've read before. Though you changed the fl's name from Li Wenjun to Qu Zhi. Then her husband's name is Jiang Chen you changed it to Liang Chen.
chapter one surprised me, marriage life story, stay at home mom, something that really pulled me in. One thing that I understood from these first 20 chapters is that "You have to love your self first to make you able to share your love to others".

♥️The storyline is a completely different twist of the reincarnation trope. I like that the MC doesn't just decide that everyone is toxic. Instead she gradually tries to fix her relationships and she's much happier for it.♥️

Slice of Life Story - Read this despite some not so great reviews since it was free for 24 hours. I skipped chapters so read this with that context...This is not just about the FL and ML mentioned in the synopsis. This novel includes stories of those around them facing the same original struggles of the FL. What stood out to me was the theme of challenging stereotypes of being female in the society built by the author, which includes "ideal" role of a wife, mother, career woman, friend, daughter, sister, etc. This piece doesn't only focus on romance but other relationships. What I liked about this is giving attention to the impacts of what adults do to children. This work could use a little bit more editing but not to the point that you wouldn't understand what happened in the story.

What a refreshing and different take on rebirth stories. I love that both husband and wife were flawed individuals- and once they learned from their mistakes, the family grew closer as a result. Awesome story so far- and hope it continues.
it was quiet unique story, although the FL is a bit stupid, the story development is pretty good... I thought it was all the ML's fault why she suffered from her past life, But I guess you should read first before you judge.
I am not really into past life stories and rebirth where the female lead gets treated like absolute garbage and then comes back to start all over again and the mail lead is the person who originally treated her like garbage and who was cold and unfeeling. But then suddenly he totally changes for some obscure reason and that's supposed to erase a lifetime of horror and neglect because they have babies together or something. So I'm going to be neutral on this one until someone can spoiler it for me and let me know who the male lead is if it gets picked
