Eragon knew this whole thing was going to shit and this was proven right,when a distressed Rhaenyra messaged Eragon,Gandalf and Corlys about an incident that she saw when visiting her father.
Corlys was slightly close to Rhaenyra became of his wife Rhaenys and their daughter Laena.
So Corlys took his wife too,all four soon arrived at Aemma mansion in Kingslanding and Rhaenyra explained this situation.Let's just say for Rhaenyra it was not nice to find out your father is sleeping with your friend.
Corlys frowned and said"Is Viserys really out if his mind,Aemma's health is not that great this news won't go well with her nor will it go well with Lord Arryn."
Eragon nodded agreeing with this and added"I am sure it won't be long before Otto subtlety point Viserys to marrying his daughter."
Corly and Rhaenys scowled hearing this,while Gandalf sighed and said"Otto played this well."
Everyone except Eragon agreed to this,as he spoke up"Actully he messed up a bit."
Now Corlys,Rhaenys and Gandalf turned to Eragon,who explained"Otto was able to remove Daemon from heir position and pushed Rhaenyra thinking that,if his daughter is able to produce an heir Rhaenyra could easily be removed.But he didn't think Rhaenyra would prove herself with the test and majority are convinced she has the ability to rule,so now with so many people supporting her.It will be hard for Otto to do anything.Since Viserys has one good trait which is he doesn't back away from a decision and will strongly adhere to it."
After all having such affairs are not well received and Otto's daughter sleeping with the King will only cause more talks,since many would consider this to be Otto trying to get his daughter to be the second wife.
It won't go well since Aemma was very well liked and this will cause some backlash.But the one who will face the most probably be Hightowers.
But polygamy is technically legal,it's just you will get some backlash from the Faith of the seven and it also has caused some problems in the past with in fighting over Lords succession.
Rhaenys while hearing about Otto's worry smiled and said"So he didn't expect Rhaenyra to get so much support."
Eragon nodded and replied"Yes,also I asked around for any servant that spot these two and lets say two servants saw the Alicent with quite a few marks on her."
Rhaenys really supported Rhaenyra,since she wanted to see the girl to not become a second fiddle.While Rhaenyra was not really interested in the throne,but she had slight plans for the future.
Just like they thought 6 week later Viserys announced his decision to marry Alicent,which did cause many to question if Viserys is really sound of mind.While the main reason was Alicent showed signs of Pregnancy and this was spotted by a few older attendants and Nadia,let's just say the rumors about the affair already floated.
Lord Arryn who loved his daughter was pissed off and Viserys guilt worsened after seeing Aemma look at him with disgust and saying"I knew you would do anything to see that vision of your become a reality,let's hope this so called son you hoped for will not cause you more harm then good."
Those words would haunt him and for Eragon it felt more like scorned women's curse.While Alicent couldn't even look at Rhaenyra without feeling embarrassed,but Rhaenyra didn't dislike Alicent,since the girl was just pawn for her father.
But Rhaenyra wasn't sure if Alicent would ever go against her father.
