Chapter 2: The Judge, Jury, and Executioner
It's been a half a week since I killed Katsuya, and, of course, he wasn't the last name I wrote.
"I always did like writing down names," Izuku spoke to himself, as if what he was doing was normal, and to him, it was.
"My, my, you sure did adapt fast. I am impressed," A voice suddenly spoke behind me. I rip open one of the drawers of my desk and pull out a knife which I quickly throw behind me. If I couldn't have a quirk, I would get martial arts training.
"Impressive reflexes, but 1, it won't work, and 2, I'm not your enemy."
"... And how am I supposed to believe that someone who broke into my house is friendly?" He looks quite weird, like a mutation quirk of a hedgehog gone wrong.
"Because that was once my book." he replied simply.
Everything made sense to me, all of a sudden.
"... 'This note shall become the property of the human world, once it touches the ground of (arrives in) the human world' and 'The person in possession of the Death Note is possessed by a god of death, its original owner, until they die.', is that correct?"
"...yeah, why?"
"Perfect."
I then ignored him. the fact that he recognized these rules are proof that he is the supposed 'God of death' the book talks about, and the rules that he listed show that the Shinigami can't do anything to him. In addition to that, if the rules in the book are real, then so is the rule 'The human who touches the Death Note can recognize the image and voice of its original owner, a god of death, even if the human is not the owner of the note', which, although indirectly, states that only he and people who touch the note, can see him.
Essentially, he is no more problematic than a hallucination.
'Oho, he might even be better than light!' Ryuk thought, as Izuku didn't realize that he was mumbling.
"You still didn't answer my question, how did you adapt so fast?"
"Simple, on that day when that notebook fell, I was about to end my life. Do you truly believe that someone who was willing to commit suicide would have the sanity to stop them from changing? I changed, then regained my sanity. Very efficient, I must say. Now I have a question for you. Who are you and why did you drop this Note?"
"As for your first, question, my name is Ryuk, and I am a Shinigami. As for your second..."
"I was bored."
This got a slight reaction out of me, although I tried my best to not let it show, out of habit.
...
"Are you not going to ask why I chose you?"
"Why would I? I doubt you really did choose me, you Gods of death probably don't care the difference between one human and the next. but I promise you, you got the right person for the job."
"... In that case, what do you plan to do with the Death Note?"
"Simple. I will become a god among men!"
This got a huge reaction from Ryuk.
"I'm tired of being pushed around by these people who think that they are gods. They clearly aren't, after all, here is clear evidence of the power of gods! besides, I already am a god, aren't I Ryuk? Rule: 'The human who uses this note can neither go to Heaven nor Hell', Isn't that correct? So where do they go? Simple, where they fit in. They will become Shinigami. I became a god the moment I wrote my first name! I might as well play the part, yes?" I spoke without any of the nervousness I once had, all that's left is a morbid determination and true confidence.
"... Kuhahaha" He's even more interesting then Light! This is going to be so much fun!
"We have an emergency broadcast from the Hero Public Safety Comission and the World Heroes Association."
'hmm?' I thought, 'What could they possibly be planning? I doubt I have been found out yet.'
Ryuk laughed as a man came onto the screen
"Hello, my name is Mitsugaya Kanatsu, commonly known as ACE,"
'ACE, huh? Isn't ACE the person who found the first All for Ones identity?'
"Now, we are all here for a very important reason. A man, who we do not know, has committed a unforgivable crime."
"Villain Genocide." Ryuk laughed once again. My eyes turned cold.
"If you're watching this, whoever you are, what you are doing is WRONG."
This got a huge laugh out of Ryuk.

As well as a chuckle from me, which surprised Ryuk.
The man waited for a second before continuing.
"Whatever may happen, we will find you."
The broadcast turned off.
"Fascinating, Fascinating, FASCINATING!" I started giggling like a madman. "You'll find me? Well then, why dont we make a game out of it? hahahahahaha,"
"Tell me, Izuku, why didn't you kill him?"
"Simple, it would've been no fun. In addition to that, he's not the only one in the group who would be hunting me, for all I know, it could be a trap."
I immediately pull out the Death Note. "Ryuk, Rule: The conditions for death will not be realized unless it is physically possible for that human or it is reasonably assumed to be carried out by that human, is that correct?"
"Yea, of course it is, I wrote those rules in their so you wouldn't fucking ask me how it works."
"Perfect, Now I can have someone act out as me."
'If I have them record a video of "Me" replying to ACE before him killing himself, there would be no evidence linking it to me. In addition to that...'
I continued to mumble my plans to myself, while Ryuk continued to just laugh.
On that day, the first innocent life of the killings was taken, for a reason as simple as to leave a message.
"Hey Izuku, do you have any apples?"
I simply looked at him, deadpan.
"You really know how to kill the mood you know?"
