Chapter 23: Laws of the Abyss
Xie Qing bowed his head to his side in confusion upon hearing her words. He could find no record of the Elf Queen's marriage anywhere.
He threw his leg over his leg and propped his chin up with his hand, clearly awaiting the Queen's next words.
"You don't have to worry. I created my daughter from my own blood and the magic of nature." The Queen smiled seductively.
"Worry about what?" Xie Qing thought and raised an eyebrow, and Aria beside him glanced warily at the Queen.
There seemed to be sparks running between them and Xie Qing could even hear the sounds of battle.
They talked some more and Xie Qing left the castle and entered the sacred place for elves, the Holy Forest.
Here is the densest life force in all the worlds. One breath is enough for a mortal to live for a thousand years without growing old.
However, Xie Qing didn't care about such things, because as a Supernatural being he had such advantages for a long time.
Even though he made up a reason, however, Xie Qing was going to study the Law of Life now that he had the chance.
Speaking of laws, this is a pretty important part of life practice. It allows you to turn a weakness into an advantage.
For example, someone learning the law of "Death" would be much easier and more effective at controlling Dark magic, but would be weak against Light.
But if he learns the law of Life, that weakness will immediately disappear.
Though light had little effect on Xie Qing, he was annoyed by the tingling all over his body in Heaven.
He also needed to learn the three basic laws of the Abyss in order to become more effective.
And one of those laws was Life.
He and Aria sat down not far from the World Tree and began to meditate. Very quickly Xie Qing had already entered the spiritual space.
For the record, however, Spiritual World and Spiritual Space are different.
While the former contained Xie Qing's soul and memories, the latter contained his abilities and magical elements.
Xie Qing's Spiritual Space was dark, as if it were in a stage immediately after the creation of the world.
Xie Qing summoned a chart of his elements and saw the result:
[73% Darkness.
32% - Fire.
21% - Water.
19% - Wind.
10% - Nature/Earth.
0.00001% - Light].
Darkness has the highest score since his space is dark, plus his Devouring ability refers to the element of Darkness.
However, the presence of the other elements did not interest Xie Qing much, as he hardly ever uses magic.
However, the statistics of Light made Xie Qing smile bitterly. But he quickly shook his head and sat in a lotus pose.
"The abyss is the beginning of everything."
"The abyss is the end of everything."
"The abyss is the light."
"The abyss is darkness."
"The abyss is life."
"The abyss is death."
In his head, Xie Qing heard a deep and ancient voice filled with laws. He concentrated and unconsciously opened his mouth.
"I am the beginning of everything."
"I am the end of everything."
"I am the light."
"I am the darkness."
"I am life."
"I am death."
Spiritual space shook, and a mighty pressure came down on Xie Qing. He did not give up, however.
Repeating his words like a mantra, he made the space move.
"I am the beginning of everything."
Light appeared in the sky, and plants and animals appeared on the earth. Spiritual space was filled with the noise and joyful voices of animals.
Birds chirped and animals played with their children. Nature delighted them with fruit, and the pleasant sunshine warmed them.
"I am the end of everything."
The next second, however, they were dead, as if it were all an illusion.
Space became dark and bereft of life again. Xie Qing paid no attention to the change and continued.
"I am the light."
The darkness of space was replaced by light emanating from Xie Qing. His body rose into the air and hung there, as if replacing the sun.
"I am the darkness."
The light of his body changed to a darkness that was like a starry sky. Xie Qing opened his mouth and muttered.
"I am life."
Instantly, his body light returned to its place and Xie Qing glowed like a human sun.
The earth reappeared, and plants and flowers filled the Spiritual space. Animals began to run joyfully through the field and enjoy life.
A joyful atmosphere filled the entire space. Some of the animals even worshipped Xie Qing. However, he didn't care.
"I am death."
In the same second, the plants began to wither and wither away. The previously lush forests and meadows withered away, turning to dry earth.
Animals fell dead with desperate cries and looked at Xie Qing with pitying eyes.
However, he didn't even open his eyes. For he felt something unbelievable!
Vshuu!
A strong wind filled the Spiritual space, and there was the same reaction in the real world.
The Elf Queen enveloped the forest with a barrier and looked curiously at Xie Qing. The next second, however, she frowned.
"Who?!"
Her loud voice echoed throughout the space, making the elves wary.
Soon a beauty of incredible beauty appeared before the queen. She had long black hair, obsidian eyes, and a lush body.
Her cold gaze could freeze even souls, and her soft and small pink lips possessed the power to rule the world.
"Elf Queen, I am here as an observer from the Abyss. I hope for your understanding." The girl spoke in her cold voice and made a bow.
"What is the legendary Projection of the Abyss doing here?" The Elf Queen asked with a serious expression on her face and her ears twitched warily.
The Elf Queen frowned her beautiful eyebrows and looked warily at the girl.
The projection of the Abyss was a legend! Even Lucifer could not resist her and was forced to suck it up.
In the last phase of the Ancient War, she had slain the Gods, consumed many powerful figures, and come out at the peak of existence!
Even the Elf Queen would be helpless against her if she wanted to kill all elves and Xie Qin.
Suddenly the gaze of the Abyss Projection stopped on the girl next to Xie Qing. She turned to the Queen.
"...Who is that?" She pointed her thin fingers at Aria and asked without emotion.
"Э? Well..." The queen was a little nervous, as she didn't want to set Xie Qing up.
Noticing her concern, the Abyss Projection loosened her aura and sighed. She asked again, but this time in a calmer tone.
"Who is she, the Elf Queen?"
"She is... his wife." The Queen answered with a complicated expression on her face.
The projection of the Abyss hummed and turned to Xie Qing, looking at him with an unusual expression.
There was interest, hope, and... jealousy?
Meanwhile, Xie Qing's body shook with magical energy, making the forest shake.
The queen waved her hand and the World Tree tilted one of its branches, throwing out a fruit.
The fruit plunged into Xie Qing's body and began to soothe his energy, purifying and filling his soul.
His soul expanded and his magical energy became larger and denser. However, Xie Qing had not yet noticed these changes.
