Chapter 65: Chapter 64- Is This Real?

Penelope's POV

I walked into the conference room a few minutes later after successfully convincing Adrian I will be fine. James sat at the head of the table with Kelvin standing at the other end. When they heard the door open, Kelvin made his way towards me quickly while James had that sickening smirk on his face. I looked in his direction wondering what document he had with him that gave him so much courage to come in here, when he could have come across my parents. 

I took a seat at the opposite end of the table facing him and we both stared at each other before I finally broke the stare competition with my words, "Why are you here?" I want this meeting to be over as soon as possible. 

"What? You don't miss me? That is not how to say hi to your husband" He teased. The mere sight of his face brings back memories I would rather have buried.
