Chapter 17: HOPE OF TOGETHER
The plantation started at the mansion. Emma and Sophia were excused from joining as they both didn't like it. Both went to the restaurant instead of the market as they said to Leonardo. Ava came with a rose plant. Lucas and James were planting jasmine in a pot.
Uncle, will you help my aunt with planting? Little Lucas asked Leonardo who was watching them behind.
Yes, my beetroot. Leonardo said and step forward towards Ava. He took the plant from the wooden pack and put it into the pot. Ava started putting fertilizer mixed soil in that. Leonardo followed her. Both planted roses together. Lucas was very happy to see them together. Leonardo looked at Ava. She was glowing more in direct sunlight. Leonardo couldn't keep his eyes away from dazzling Ava. Meanwhile, Ava's Hair fell in front of her eyes. Ava looked at him. Leonardo slowly removed it and set it back to her ear. Ava got blushed in a second. She dusted her hand and quickly went inside. She drank a glass of water to control her irregular heartbeat.
Emma and Sophia came back in the evening. They noticed that Leonardo and Ava both were in good mood with each other. Ava was making food in the kitchen. Leonardo, James and Lucas were sitting in the dining hall.
Wow, it's nice to see Ava making food for our boys. But why dear? Where are chefs? Sophia exaggerated
I am doing it by myself. I asked them to rest today. That's why. Please have a seat we will eat together. Ava said
So she is leading the mansion. Emma mumbled with hate
Sophia pinched Emma to stay quiet.
'Dinner served'
Everyone appreciated Ava. Emma was getting jealous of her. She was thinking to lower her down but she was not getting the situation to do that. After dinner, everyone went to their room. Ava went to the kitchen to grab cookies and milk for Lucas. Meanwhile, Emma came to her and hit her badly.
I am so sorry. Ava said
You should be. Do you know how expensive my shirt is? If you rebirth in this mansion and work here twice to get a salary. You will not able to bring this for me. Poor backward girl!! Emma shouted
Emma!! How dare you speak like this with her? If you were not a sister of Sophia, you would better know the results. Get out from here. Leonardo roared
I didn't mean to say that. Emma said
Look at your face. Take measurement then speak. This mistake must never happen again. Leonardo said.
Emma was shocked and ran out of there
Ava surprised.
It was bad. I don't want to make people upset. I wish you didn't react this way. I can defend myself. She said
When will you defend yourself? After she said everything she wanted to tell and left? You are just presenting yourself as guilty as she. You are acting like a housekeeper, not a guest. You heard all of her words and didn't respond to her. What a lack of pride! I will never let someone with this weakness like you have to take care of my nephew. Leonardo said and quickly went out.
Ava went into thought. She became sad as Leonardo roared at her. She laid on the bed. She slept in a sad mood. She had a bad dream at midnight.
Leave me!! Leave me!! I have a little nephew!! Let me go out!! Don't throw stones at me!! Lucas may you stay safe!! Ava was screaming in a dream. Instantly her eyes opened. She was full of sweat. She put water in a glass from the jug and drank it quickly. She had a dream about Mandela was pushing her into a grave with tied-up hands. She was shivering due to fear. She stood up and went to the terrace.
Leonardo was also hyper. He felt very bad for Ava. He was also angry with her for not being confident enough. He was angry with Emma also. He managed to calm himself just because of Sophia.
He shouted at me just because of that third-class girl. I didn't deserve to be insulted in front of her. Emma said loudly
You could be careful before tricking her. You deserve it. He never forgives injustice. You should apologize to him. Sophia said
I am going to some work. Please see Lucas after me. I will be back soon. Ava said to Sophia.
Okay, dear. Don't worry. Sophia said
Ava was upset. She was feeling suffocated at the mansion. That's why she decided to take a breath outside. She went to the park. She left without having breakfast. Leonardo was going to the office. He saw Emma playing with Lucas.
Where is his aunt? Leonardo asked
She is gone somewhere. I don't know. Emma said
Leonardo quickly went out of the mansion. He called Ava but she didn't pick up his call. Leonardo went to the office. He came to know while thinking that she may be upset due to yesterday's behaviour. He left the office. While he was going to the mansion he saw Ava walking toward the mansion. She was looking dizzy. Leonardo came out of the car. Ava looked at him.
What happened to you? Leonardo asked
Nothing. I am going home. Ava said
But scratch on your cheek and bleeding knee? Leonardo raised his hand towards her face.
Nothing. I just got fainted and fell down. She step back so Leonardo couldn't touch her.
You should go to the doctor. You are not feeling good. Leonardo said.
I am going home. lucas is waiting for me. Ava said and step forward slowly towards the mansion
If you will go by this speed. You will meet Lucas in four hours. Leonardo said and opened the door of the car.
Ava looked at him and sat in the car.
Ava was going inside by holding arm of Leonardo while Emma and Sophia were going downstairs. Emma was shivering with anger.
I just left the trash on the road to die instead. Look at caring Leonardo. He brought her to the mansion. I wish she could die. Emma mumbled
What!! You made a big mistake. Sophia dragged her into the room and shouted at her.
Sister. I was about to roll her under my car. Then I left her alone on the road. I would have done that and no one could know this. Emma said
I think you don't know Leonardo. He goes to the end of the bad story to finish that from the root. You did wrong. You would have brought a helpless, injured girl to the mansion to grab Leonardo's attention towards you. Sophia shook her with anger.
O my dear what happened to you? Sophia asked
Nothing Sophia. I am fine. I just fainted and my cheek and knee got hurt. Ava said
Oh, God! How did this happen? Sophia asked
Go to your room. Lucas shouldn't see you in this phase. Leonardo interrupted
Ava nodded her head and went to her room.
Lucas came to Ava's room while the doctor was giving her treatment.
What happened to my aunt? Lucas asked
She fell down. Doctor said. Meanwhile, Leonardo entered the room
Uncle, did my aunt feel like my mother? Will she get well soon? Lucas anxiously asked
Don't worry beetroot. I never let her be in harm. She will get well more quickly. Go to your room and play with Mrs Rosa. Leonardo said.
Don't move much. Eat well so you can recover soon. Leonardo said
Ava nodded her head
I am giving medicines. Start these two immediately. The patient should not sleep during this time. Doctor said.
Leonardo nodded his head and waved his hand to see off the doctor to the front door. Lucas was stuck to Ava due to fear that he might lose her as his mother left him. Sophia was continually interfering in their affairs to make a new plan. She came back to her room. Frank came to Leonardo's study room.
Have you checked the terms and conditions carefully? Leonardo asked
Yes. You may check it, please. Frank said
No need for it. Leonardo said and signed the documents.
We have a meeting with the Bulgaria delegation. Documents are ready. What do you say then? Frank asked
Postpone it. Lucas is scared about his aunt. So I will be needed to spend time at home. Leonardo said
Aunt, I want to sleep in your room with you. Lucas came back to Ava's room and said
Come on, dear. Lay here. Ava said.
I thought you will not take care of me. as my mom didn't look after me after she went sick. She just slept all the time. Lucas said
Don't worry my dear I will recover soon. I will play with you. I will make food for you. Ava kissed his forehead and said.
I brought this book. Will you tell me a story? Lucas asked
Yes. Give it to me. Ava said
'Her wavy golden hair was so long. She always wanted herself to see braided hair. But she was not able to comb her hair by herself. When she reached the palace she saw a group of kids looking at her. She sat on the floor. Kids played with her hair. They made a big braid and twisted it. Lucas went asleep when Ava was telling him the story. Ava's eyes were also getting closed. Meanwhile, Leonardo entered her room.
Don't sleep. Doctor advised. You will wake up until next dose. Leonardo said.
I am not sleeping by the way. My eyes just closed. Ava said
Did you take medicines? Leonardo asked.
Yes. Mrs Rosa gave me it. Ava said. She noticed Leonardo close the door and step forward towards the couch. Ava raised her eyebrows.
You don't need to worry about me. Mrs Rosa is outside. Ava said
You will talk to me. This will make you wake up. Leonardo sat and said
What should I tell you? You talk to me either. Ava said
But you will fall asleep by listening to me. So you speak. Leonardo said
Are you going to listen to me the rest of the time? Ava said.
Leonardo nodded his head.
I can tell you about my childhood. So, when I was little. We were three siblings. I had an elder brother and Olivia. My brother passed away due to renal disease on his birthday. My mother took that incident with her heart. She also passed away. Ava broke down.
Don't talk about your bad memories. This will drop your blood level. Tell me a story or anything else. Leonardo said.
Ava calmed herself. After a few minutes, she started talking again.
My father was too young at that time. He was not moved yet from Oldham to London. He didn't meet my mother yet. He was a kid nearly. There was a crazy man in his neighbourhood. He was not talking to anyone. He was staying in ruin. My father and his other friends were scared by that crazy man. Not because he hurt someone. He was not giving damage to anyone or anything. Ava started yawning and closed her eyes.
Then what happened next? Leonardo asked
My father said madness and intelligence are very close to each other. But they were kids at that time. One day they blocked the path of that crazy man. My father was also one of them. He was ashamed when he told us this story. They threw stones at him. When he attempted to escape from there, they ran after him. He entered an abandoned house's garden. My father and his friend went after him. My father fell into a well. Because he didn't figure out it was there. He was faint. His friend thought my father died and they left him there. Ava was again closing her eyes.
How did he escape from there? Leonardo asked
When my father was awake. It was night. He shouted too much but no one listened to him. His arm was broken. He thought he would die. A man threw a rope into the well. My father tied up himself. Man dragged him up. The man was that crazy guy to whom he threw stones. My father was ashamed of his act. He looked after him and took care until he came to London. He always protected that guy. Ava's eyes were getting closed. she was getting jerks again and again. Leonardo stood slightly from the couch to look. Ava opened her eyes.
I was not sleeping. I am just trying to remember something. Ava said
Leonardo nodded his head.
Then my father said something. I am trying to remember that. Yes he said
"Don't leave the hand which took you out from the darkness"
Leonardo kept listening to Ava. He was looking at Ava and Lucas. He was sleeping with fear. he tightly hugged his aunt. Leonardo was thinking that Ava might tell him this story as he escaped her from Mandela's Brutality of throwing her underwater tank. and she is meaning not to leave his hand. Both were looking at each other while having good memories of the past together.
