Chapter 29: PROMISE
Where is he where did you take him? Ava asked
He is taken to jail after the statement. Come on, don't get tired here anymore, I will drop you home. Aiden's friend Bush the policeman said
I'm not going anywhere without seeing him. Ava said
I guess you didn't understand me. We are talking about human smuggling, is there more to this? Bush asked
I understand but his name is used he is not mistaken. Ava tried to justify
We talked about it. You saw his behaviour too. Bush said
I saw but that recording made no sense. Don't you understand? I am sure someone set him up. Human smuggling is such a heinous crime that he can never commit, believe me, brother. I heard with my own ears when he was known to my presence. He isn't mistaken. The person who put this set up for him took revenge on him. Someone slandered him. One day you will realize he is not wrong. Ava said
Leave it on time and court. I can't do anything. I am just a government servant. Bush said
Ava met Leonardo as she was given a short time for the meeting. She broke down. And started crying. Leonardo held her hand and cleaned her tears.

Ava nodded her head. She went to the mansion. She couldn't sleep the entire night. In the early morning, Watson came to her room to call her for breakfast.
You look tired. Didn't you sleep? Watson asked
No, I couldn't. Ava said
Don't worry, Mr. Leonardo had gone through a more difficult time than this. He will be back soon. So don't make yourself upset about this. Watson said
How can you be so sure about it? Ava asked
If he can take his murderer as a friend, says something, know something. Watson said
I didn't understand. What does it mean he took his killer as his friend? Or you? Ava asked
Watson nodded his head.
This would make someone, but killing your brother is so strange. But there are also people like Mr Leonardo in this world who can make his killing his friend. For the man who hunted his death in past, today, even without thinking for a second I can walk towards my own death. Don't give up on trusting him. You will come to know about his more attributes. She encouraged herself and prepared food for Leonardo. He was surprised by Ava's actions.
Why you are bothering me? Why are you doing all this? Leonardo asked
Because I don't want to wait without doing something. That is all I can do. Everyone is around you who will tell you about this case. Leonardo kept looking at Ava. He finished all food that Ava bought for him

What are you thinking? Leonardo asked
What will you do when you will came out? Will you take revenge? Ava asked anxiously.
Leonardo noticed her anxiety and said "No, I will not"
Ava smiled. Meanwhile, the policeman rang that the meeting time was over.
I owe you a coffee. I will pay my debt after court. Leonardo said
Ava went out and Leonardo went in thoughts of beauteous Ava. In court, there was no witness provided so the judge put the trial on the case and Leonardo couldn't release from jail. Emma and Sophia were in shock as Ava went to court whereas Leonardo prohibited everyone. Emma insulted Ava in a way that Ava has no concern with the mansion of Leonardo. History repeated when Leonardo entered jail. A group of four men was already there. One of those was his enemy. They all shifted to a consecutive bedroom. Leonardo went into the bathroom. The man who was his enemy followed his way.
So I am a wrongdoer. And I did crimes that's why I am here. Why are you here man? Man asked
I don't want to talk. Leonardo said. A man came closer to him and stabbed his abdomen. An inspector came to check all prisoners. He found blood coming out of the bathroom. As he went inside he saw Leonardo's body was jerking badly. Emergency called out. They took Leonardo to the hospital. He directly shifted to the intensive care unit. Frank and Ava were going to Leonardo when her received a call that Leonardo was stabbed by a man in jail and shifted to a hospital in worse condition. Frank noticed the first time that Ava was crying badly. Emma and Sophia reached the hospital. They saw Ava was cleaning her tears. Both looked at each other.
Frank brought coffee for everyone. All of them took coffee but Ava refused to take that as she reminded of Leonardo's words
"I owe you a coffee but I will pay my debt after court"
Dear, you are here for so long time. Go home Lucas is also waiting for you. Sophia said
As you say. Ava came back to her senses and said.
Sophia nodded her head to Emma.
My dear, don't worry. You will stay with Leonardo the rest of the time. I will take James home. So as Leonardo will wake up. You go and meet him. Sophia said.
Thank you sister for throwing trash outside the hospital. Emma said
Ava came back to the mansion. She went to Lucas's room. She told him a story and make him fall asleep. She went out of the room. She looked at Leonardo's room door. Ava felt for a moment that Leonardo will come out of his room. She went into his room. She saw someone in his dressing room. The door of the unit was open. Someone was taking clothes from Leonardo's wardrobe. Ava looked at the shoes that seemed like Leonardo's. She wondered and step forward. Watson closed the door of the unit and looked at Ava.
I packed the bag of Mr Leonardo's necessities. Whenever you will go to the hospital, take this bag with you. Don't worry. He will be fine. Watson said.
Frank informed Ava that she was not needed to come to the hospital as Leonardo needed 24 hours to wake up. Ava decided to go late so she could meet him directly. The next day everyone went to the hospital. They found Ava was already in the hospital sitting outside Leonardo's room. She sent a paper through a nurse to him.
"I am waiting for the past day. I am here for you. Get well soon"
Emma's behaviour changed when she found Ava there. Meanwhile, the doctor came and told that the patient had woken up and one by one family members can meet him. Sophia sent James to meet him and then she went after that she sent Emma and whispered in her ear "stay there for a long time don't leave so this girl can't meet him in any case"
Frank, I am going home with James. Update me on his condition. Emma will come back when she will get free. Sophia said and went out of the hospital.
Police Inspector, Aiden's friend came to the hospital. He saw Ava there.
You were right. He was truly innocent. He said
Ah. Thanks when his case will get closed and he will send home? Ava asked
Soon. The case is closed just formalities remaining. I was here to check out his condition. He replied
He went inside Leonardo's room.
Ava felt dizzy when she got time to meet Leonardo. At the next moment, she fainted and fall down on the floor. Only frank and the guards were there other was gone. A nurse came and checked her. She was shifted to the next cabin as Frank advised the doctor and administration. Frank informed Leonardo about her condition. He stood up with his help and went to Ava's room. Ava opened her eyes. She found herself on a hospital bed along with a drip inoculated in her arm. She saw Leonardo standing in front of her. For a while, she thought she was dreaming.
How are you now? Leonardo asked
Isn't it a dream? Ava mumbled
No, it's not. Leonardo replied as he listened to her.
You should be in bed. Why I am here? Ava asked
You should know yourself better. Why you didn't sleep? Why you didn't eat or drink? Don't you want to live for Lucas? Leonardo asked
I… I… just… Ava couldn't tell him anything. She sat on the bed.
Anyways I am here to pay my debt. Have this. Leonardo raised a cup of coffee towards her and said.
Thank you. Ava said
Won't you accept it? Leonardo asked
But how did you come to my room? Police? Or did you escape from your room? Ava took the cup from his hand. By just promising… we can drink later. Ava said anxiously
Your coffee got cold. Leonardo said
"You made your promise"
"You also full fill yours"
In fact, I didn't promise to have coffee with paper cups in a place like this, but … Leonardo said
I think it's pretty. I mean …. Coffee… Ava got shy.
What are you thinking? What are you looking at in the window? Leonardo asked
When I was a kid and still I love looking at clouds looking grey or about to rain. I thought that the time cloud was crying because the sun left it alone. Even I was thinking that cloud may fall madly in love with the sun. I thought that the poor cloud that suffered from the sun was moving away from it. Perhaps a fairytale I read would have impressed me. Ava said while she was lost in rainy weather.
Maybe the opposite. The sun fell in love with the cloud, and because this sun was moving away from the cloud. Leonardo said
If the sun loved the cloud why did it stay away? Ava asked
May be sun was afraid of it evaporating the cloud with the fire within itself and destroying it. Leonardo said who actually told her his inside truth.
I have been watching this emotion from the cloud side until now. Considering how desperate the sun was Ava said
Maybe you didn't see, you didn't notice its heart was in a rush that burned with the lavas, the embers. Leonardo look around and said.
Luckily the sun was used to burning. He wasn't badly hurt. Was he? Ava asked
It didn't use to burn. It use to cause burns. Leonardo said.
You should go to your room as you recently exited the surgery. We have drunk our coffee. Ava said
It's okay. I am good. I am good here as ever. Leonardo said
But what if something bad happened because of me? Ava asked
Nothing bad will happened to me. Leonardo said
Promise? Ava asked
Promise. Leonardo replied. Meanwhile, a policeman came.
We go back to your room. Come on. He said
Leonardo nodded his head and walked slowly outside. Ava was feeling happy and relaxed after meeting him. Ava was discharged from the hospital. She went outside Leonardo's room and waited for him. The court issued orders so Leonardo got free. He reached home. Beauteous Ava was not known that her beauty and character affected steal heart man to meltdown. Ava helped her to his room. Leonardo was unable to lay on his bed. Ava helped him as she couldn't stop herself to help him in his needy time. So this way both got close to each other. Ava got shy and quickly stood back.

Leonardo put his hand in the pocket of the hoodie. He felt a paper in his pocket. That was a message that Ava gave to a nurse to give him.
"As promised, I am waiting. I am here"
Ava went to her room. She was again feeling strange. Her hands were shivering. And her face blushed. She looked at herself in the mirror. She reminded herself. She cooked food for Leonardo. Emma tried to find Leonardo's attention. But he sent her to the office to get rid of her stickiness. She came to Sophia and informed her about Leonardo's behaviour. Sophia encouraged her not to worry as she will not lead Ava to be with him as well. Emma went office. Ava was bringing a tray of food to Leonardo's room. Sophia took the tray from her hand.
My dear. You look dizzy. You did too much. Go and take a rest I will give your food to Leonardo. She said.
Ava felt a bit bad inside. But she didn't let her notice that. She nodded her head and went into her room.
Sophia pretended that she made his favourite food. But the glass broke when Lucas came to Leonardo's room and told him that his aunt had made food for him. Leonardo looked at Sophia. She quickly went out of his room. Ava came to his room with a few books.
Thank you. The food was delicious. Leonardo said

Leonardo opened the old book that Ava recommended to him. Pale half shallow page opened
