Chapter 11: Another Shock

************

CHAPTER 11

Waking up to the glimmering sun rays, a pair of eyes slowly fluttered open, taking in the luminescent light that penetrated in before narrowing her blank gaze at the ceiling.

"Hmm…?"

Her unhurried gaze lingered on the ceiling as though the images of what happened to her were plastered on them.

Averting her gaze a few seconds later, she silently scanned her surroundings, taking in the sight before her.

Clear. Everything had gone back to normal.

Still, seconds ticked by and Raven did nothing but stare in silence while her brain tried to figure out what was going on.

Her eyes squinted in confusion as she turned her head on the pillow. The last thing she recalled was trying to break free and getting good payback for all her attempts.

'Hmm, that was a pretty situation, Raven. And my body fell hard to the ground. G-Ground. Wait.'

Like a quick bolt to her rebooting brain, Raven instantly rose to a sitting position on the bed, her hands latched onto her chest and head with a surprised look painting her face.

'No blood. No pain. I recall aching so badly. I shouldn't have recovered in such a short time. I know I broke a bone or two.' She mentally noted.

Still not convinced, she checked her body for bruises but found none. To make matters worse, her clothes had been changed as well, leaving her in a light and free blue gown.

'Something's not right.' Raven finalized in her head.

The situation was rather complicated but her discombobulated mind wasn't helping issues in any positive way.

Peeling her gaze from her body, she diverted it towards the direction of the door as her eyes strictly narrowed at it.

"What really happened?"

At the same time, a sudden rush of wind hit her right at her head, forcing her to fall back hard on the bed and instantly, all the memories she had of what had transpired after she collapsed on the ground came reeling in.

A crease formed on her forehead as the severity of the matter made a strong mark on her mind.

She had indeed collapsed and after some time, someone came in to lightly pick her up from the ground, taking her to bed.

Once more she pried her eyelids open and subconsciously, she turned her head to the side where she had fallen down, trailing it back up to the ceiling and then the window.

"Hmm, just as I thought. I really blacked out there and can barely remember anything."

She released a deep sigh and shook her head. Right now, she was not as bothered about how he changed her outfit considering the dragons had magic.

Instead, she was more concerned about the fact she had healed completely and felt strengthened.

"I do not…" Raven halted in her speech as she tasted something that smelt and tasted metallic at the back of her throat.

"How come I had missed it? It tastes like cop…" Her shoulders slouched a bit.

"Wait, what did the dragon king feed me anyway?" Questioned Raven to herself, "Is it poison? But why would I taste copper?"

Her chest rose and fell while her mind tried to work things around yet again.

Before long Raven got so engrossed in her thoughts and not until he pushed the door open a tad bit and spoke, did she realize she was not alone.

The moment her eyes landed on him, Raven impulsively shifted on the bed, moving her body back a bit as she lifted her eyes, anxiously letting her gaze settle on his handsome physique.

Unlike the last time when she saw him in the room wearing a robe, this time, he wore a pair of black fitted leather pants with a white long sleeveless shirt that came to a stop below his crotch.

The center of the shirt was left open, giving the eyes of anyone who cared to steal a glimpse of an ample amount of rich dashing sexiness.

For a minute there, Raven forgot herself and let her mind be reeled in once more to the glistening skin of the annoying being that had her locked up.

"Done eating me with your eyes?"

At the mention of those words, Raven let out a hard cough and instantly tore her gaze away, while rubbing her chest in a soothing manner.

Ignoring her evasiveness, Xavier took casual steps in her direction till he came to a stop at the foot of her bed frame.

With each step he took forward, Raven could feel her heart pounding heavily against her chest and when he finally pried his lips open to speak, what she got was what she least expected.

"How do you feel?"

'What?' she nearly said them aloud.

She had expected him to yell at her for the trouble she tried to cause or better still ring it into her head how much of a failure she was, killing her hope of escape but instead she got this.

To say she was shocked was an understatement. Indeed, one look at her and Xavier could tell had been on her mind as her expression betrayed her every thought.

"I guess I may have been painted as the worst being Maestherial could ever have, given that everyone has such dread towards me."

"T-That…" She was about to say something but refrained after careful thought on the matter and changed her words. "Not true."

"Hehhee," a cold chuckle tore through his lips promptly in response to her words.

"You don't even trust your own words. I can sense your fear, rainbow dragon. And I see it."

She swallowed visibly while gathering all the courage she could muster to look him in the eyes.

She was scared because so far, he proved to be everything the ancient tale spoke of but with him saving her…

Her thoughts were suddenly interrupted when she felt a weight press on the bed.

Immediately, Raven averted her gaze from the bedsheet she was staring at, sending it right at him in a questioning manner as he rested his weight on the bed, using both hands.

"Do I lie?"

"Are you still asking?" She retorted without a thought. "I thought you were certain."

"Oh, I am certain," Xavier added as he moved closer, placing his knees on the bed.

Alarmed by his sudden move, Raven made her own and shifted backward while pinning her gaze on him.

Sensing her actions as a challenge, Xavier continued until she had her back against the bed frame and stopped.

A sinister smile crept up his lips to his eyes while he stared down at her like a predator to his prey.

Gulp!

"I am wondering what lies you would spit out from your cunny lips," his thick voice resonated out, pulling her mind from its limbo state to the issue at hand.

'Think Raven. Think of how to get out of his trap.' She forced her mind to work.

Just to ensure it did, Raven peeled her gaze from his face, shifting it to his side as her eyes landed on something she had missed since.

Right before her was a one-third mark on his right hand. From the look of it, she could tell it was a fresh wound but that was not what left her stunned.

The more she gazed at the injury on his arm, the more she felt a familiar tugging at the depth of her heart, making it ache a little bit.

"What…"

Immediately Raven felt a rush of her memories hit her brain all at once as several unclear images flashed before her mind.

However, only two of those images stuck in her head and when they did, a quick realization dawned on her, bringing to her the remembrance of a forgotten memory.

In one, she saw a fair young lady gazing with worried eyes at an injured Xavier.

In the second, it seemed clearer and looked more recent, given the familiarity of the surroundings.

She saw Xavier make a knife appear from thin air and slit his hand a bit as blood began to rush out from the wound.

That was when her memories took over and she recalled what had really happened. Her breathing quickened as her chest rose and fell with a great burst from what she had seen.

With shock-filled eyes and parted lips, Raven tore her gaze from his injured hand, trailing it up his body to his face.

"Y-You-u…" Stuttering, her gaze fell and quickly rose to hold his gaze again.

Like a new surge of energy fuelling her anger and brain, Raven hollered her disbelieving question at him without a second thought.

"You fed me your blood?!"
