Chapter 24: [A World Where Everything Can Happen.]
Emilia shot up into the air, not as fast as before, she had to make sure both Raenir and Dawn did not fall. The Concentrated Nucleos on Raenir hand was an sphere shaped object, purple colored and the size of a normal human hand, a soothing warm aura emanated from it.
"I'll speed up, hold tight! But not on my horns!"
Emilia adjusted her wings and speed up, shooting forward with great speed. The land below was nothing but a blur and in an instant they were close to their destination, but Emilia noticed something suspicious from far, a blue light was shining in this deep night, that light shone brightly from the direction of the wolf's tribe. Emilia hoped that it wasn't anything serious.
'Maybe their source of light is blue and not orange like normal fire?'
Positive thoughts could only go so far, Emilia decided not to tell them about it as their eyesight wasn't as good as Emilia's, they didn't see anything wrong yet but as they got closer and closer, a sense of dread filled up Raenir and Dawn, a feeling that something went wrong, they did not know it yet, but the worst has happened.
Finally, when Emilia landed down on their destination both of them left Emilia's back, Raenir stood up with a shocked face while Dawn looked down, infront of them was nothing but flames, blue flames. Raenir and Dawn knew very well for what those flames were for aswell, it was to burn infected corpses. And the fire covered all the wolf tribe little village.
Emilia on the other hand, was curious about that flame. Her dragon side wanted to know what it was and study it, so she approached the flames and started to analyze it while compeltely ignoring those two. 'The blue fire itself is aura, but it is trying to burn this weird purple energy..'
While Emilia was analyzing the blue fire and the stream of weird energy, Raenir fell to his knees, dropping the Concentrated Nucleos into the ground as tears slowly flow down from his face, he felt horrible as he had failed, failed to save all of them, failed to keep a promise. An overwhelming feeling of sadness and deception wash all of his thoughts, at this moment he was worthless.
Dawn had a diffrent emotion from Raenir, it was rage. Rage for failing once again, she had become a warrior to protect other mortals, be it sentient beings or not but even that she is failing at. 'Is it because i am weak?', The barrier of the Full Aura stage had blocked many, some even thought that that was the pinnacle of an Aura Practicioner but she knew very well that wasn't true, so why couldn't she become stronger? 'What do i lack off?' Rage was all that she could feel at this moment, the rage was directed at herself and her lack of strenght.
Emilia finally noticed the mood of those too.. But for her it wasn't that big of a deal, she could just rewind time and save everyone! No consequences and everybody will cheer her on as the savior!
Emilia started to canalyze a small ball of energy infront of her, then it flew up and covered all of the village, but in the next moment it shattered.
'What?!'
Emilia tried again and again.. But she finally noticed the problem, the purple energy seems to be eating her mana and growing stronger, the fire also seems to be losing this battle.. 'No, it isn't only eating my mana.'
The first characteristic of a dragon, the first stage, Elemental Gift. Though Emilia displayed strenght far above that, the main characteristic of Elemental Gift stage has only awakened now, she could communicate with her element as if it was sentient. She could communicate with time itself.
'It is also eating time, space, and reality. That weird purple stream of energy is trying to eat everything to create something in it's place..'
The blue fire is going to lose now, before it was on a stalemate but because it was able to eat time, it is growing stronger. Emilia scales start to tingly, and she looks deep into the crack that is forming with hostility, she knew what it was, her bloodline was telling what it was.
'I need to get those two out of here, this whole place is going to die!'
Die, it is exactly what is going to happen. All life, air, particles and even energy is on a constant decadence, everything here is going to die even if it isn't alive on the first place.
Emilia turned her head and looked at those two who were grieving over their loss and yelled as loud as she could.
"WE DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS, EVERYTHING IS GOING TO DIE!"
Dawn quickly woke up after Emilia's shout and sensed something tearing her very existence apart, she looked ahead and saw that a giant fissure was opening. At the other side there was nothing but darkness but she could feel that something was staring back. In her 200 and more years of experience with Eldritch Creatures, Devils and Otherwordly beings that had invaded this plane, she never had felt like an ant infront of those entity's.
"Dawn! Get Raenir out of here!"
Dawn looked at Emilia once more before saying, "I won't leave you too!"
Emilia wanted to scold Dawn for being stubborn this time, although she felt some pressure coming from this fissure she knew it was not as strong as her, her instincts were also telling her to get rid of whatever that aberration is.
"Dawn! Listen to me and get Raenir out!"
"I won-"
"It's not a situation of abandoning me or not! It's a situation of i stop this thing or everything goes to hell!"
Emilia shouted to the kobold once more, the crack started to get bigger and bigger, an eye could be seen at the other side staring back.
"I-"
"Dawn! I swear i wont die! Just get the hell out of here!"
Dawn looked at the giant eyeball, it clearly wasn't something that she could deal with, but still she didn't want to just be more useless than now. Dawn clenched her claws and cursed her strenght once more before forcefully picking up the stunned Raenir.
Dawn hoped this was the last time she needed to run away as she vowed to become stronger, she vowed to find a way to break her limits and finally move on to the next stage.
"..This was supposed just to be a 'help the sick people' quest.. How did it turn out like this?"
Emilia sighed as a feeling of excitment was running wild throughout her body, her dragon instincts were dull for sometime, her mana that never really moved much started to pump throughout her entire body, her blood was boiling, the fire in her heart started to burn brighter and the time element finally started to speak with her. Chrono finally felt like herself.
