Chapter 66: Chapter 65

"So, where are we heading?" Asked Tarrlok, crossing his arms.

Currently, Chen and his group were on Sato's plane. Hiroshi had invented a really large one that resembled travelling planes from Earth.

Well, that man was a mad genius who could invent robots and almost every modern war technology in a few days when he'd been with the Equalists.

Chen was on the plan with Tarrlok, Amon, Korra, Asami, and Chief Beifong with a few metalbenders.

Korra had been intensely glaring at Tarrlok. Lin was glaring at Korra. Amon was gazing at Chen. Asami was looking at the sky since she'd been the one to drive the plane.

"The metal clan city." Answered Asami, "From there, we'll take some fuel before heading to the desert."

"Is it there where we'll find the spirits?" Amon asked, looking forward.

"You can say," Chen said, covering Amon's eyes. "Also, don't think of doing anything stupid here."

"I understand your concerns." Amon replied, "But I won't kill innocents for a personal matter between you and me."

"You still have a grudge?" Chen narrowed his eyebrow. "Grow up."

"You married Sato's daughter. You think I couldn't conclude that you and her —"

Before Amon could complete his words, Chen placed a hand on his mouth, shutting him up.

Chen's eyes turned red as glared into Amon's blue eyes.

"Some things must be kept secret." There's no way that he would let Amon expose his father-in-law. He then whispered. "Unless, of course, you want me to have a grudge against you."

As he took his mouth back, Amon said. "You should apply your advice to yourself." He then turned and looked out the window.

"What advise?" Chen narrowed his eyebrows… did just the bastard use his words against him.

Amon smirked slightly as he turned his head.

Chen sighed.

On the borders of the earth kingdom, Chen stared through the window of the plan.

He could see a large city between the earth kingdom and the desert, his destination.

Chen had been quite concerned, and he'd been hiding his anxiety the whole time.

Raava's words had been echoing through his ear. The Library of Wang had a core, which needed to be sealed in order to separate it from the material world.

In simple words, he needed to do it from inside.

He wondered how long he'd be trapped there before coming back to the material world.

It didn't matter really.

'What do I have in life to lose anyway… I'll only keep it if I do it.'

Sighing, he stepped out of the plane.

Chief Beifong, who had been here to watch over Amon and Tarrlok, said. "I'm staying with these two, you go inside and get all of the fuel you need."

The iron clan city, according to what Chen remembered, was built by Beifong's sister.

This also would be the place where Korra would learn to metalbend.

Also, Kuvi-bitch-something lived here. A maniac girl who would crave to rule the world after the Earth Queen's death.

Of course, non of this would happen, now that Chen had dealt with Zaheer. No dead earth queen means no crazy hot cheek trying to conquer the world.

And even if Kuvi-girl would try to invade the Republic City, she won't find Chen as merciful as Korra — that if he managed to go back in time. At any rate, nothing would happen as it had in canon. Hiroshi was out of jail. That man alone was as dangerous as the Avatar, who wasn't poisoned or anything.

'Meaning I have nothing to worry about.'

Turning, Chen waved his hand at Asami and Korra, saying. "Let's have a small date." It could be considered the last one in a while.

Asami stepped out of the plane, smiling as she walked toward Chen.

"I don't know about that. Should we leave Beifong alone?" Korra replied.

"Oh don't worry. She simply doesn't want to meet her sister." Chen said, not considering hiding that fact from Lin, who stared at him intensely.

He smiled at Lin, saying. "For once, I'm with you and admire you."

If he recalled correctly, the reason Lin was on bad terms with her sister was because of her justice sense. Lin tried to stop her sis from becoming a thief, which caused Lin to get a scar on her face by her sis. Their mother, on the other hand, stood with her little sis and broke the law. It's hard for a cop to stand against their family for what they believe is right. And what's worse is that Lin was betrayed by her mom, who happened to be the chief at that time.

That's why Chen never believe in the system. They're all corrupt people.

"Just go away." Lin crossed her arms and turned her head. "I'm not coming."

"Got all the right," Chen said. Being betrayed by someone you considered family, you gave love and all, was worse than getting shot by a bullet… and trust him, he'd been shot many times.

"By the way, did you see that in your visions," Lin said, the metal moving away from her foot? "I have to know."

Chen nodded, and she knew that he was honest.

"Tell Suyin that I'm not here, and that's it." Lin turned, "you two follow me, we're staying inside."

"Chen, bring me a sandwich," Tarrlok called.

"Add some mango drinks to that," Amon replied.

The two brothers couldn't be blamed. Anyone who had gotten out of jail would be so hungry for the most simple meals.

After entering the metal city, the three were very welcomed by the city of Zaofo. The citizens were referred to as the Metal Clan, thanks to their many citizens who were known for their metalbending abilities. The leader of the clan was Suyin Beifong, the sister of the police chief.

The Avatar had a very strong repetition in this world. So a grand welcoming would have been expected.

Chen stared at Lin's sister. She was a slender lady, opposite to her quite muscular sister, with a very feminine and charming face.

Completely opposite Lin, Suyin looked very friendly and had a gentle face that make him feel safe. Lin, on the other hand, would make you feel like your life is about to crumble.

But in Chen's opinion, smiles weren't a measure of a person's personality.

Take him for an example. Chen smiles a lot, but that doesn't mean that he's happy or friendly. He would usually do that as a form of manners.

Lin, despite her attitude, was a very good person. She'd been one of the few unselfish people in the cast who would sacrifice their life for their principle.

Attitude is a mark of social skill level, not of how good or bad the personality was.

"So, you came from Republic City." Suyin stepped forward, while everyone in the city was trying to surround Korra. "I have heard a lot about you. And so this is Chen, the star of the previous season of the Pro-bending matches."

"Yes. Honour to meet." Chen said. 'So, I won't have the last date in peace. So be it. These people are annoying, but I can handle that." He smiled gently at Suyin.

"So, you're Beifong's other child." Korra looked at Suyin. "You don't look like your sister."

"Different fathers, I think." Suyin shrugged and smiled. "By the way, is she here?"

Korra was about to say something, but she seemed to remember Lin's warning, and she ended up saying one letter…"Umm…"

Since there was a very high possibility that he would be absent from this world for a long time, he thought of doing some trolling.

"She's in the plane," Chen said, placing a hand on Suyin's shoulder.

"Really? Why didn't she come over."

"She said you two had conflicts last time, and she didn't want to provoke old bad memories before her mission. But I know that, deep inside, she wanted to come and have a talk. But you know her. She's too prideful to do that and thinks it would be humiliating."

"This is unnecessary. But you are right. My old sister is too prideful." Suyin smiled in what seemed a relief. "So she said she wanted to come here."

"I think she would have come over," Chen said. "But she's two guys to watch over."

Korra looked at Chen's face, blinking over and over, seeming to call his bluff.

"That's great. I've always wanted to talk with her." Suyin smiled, excited.

"She too. She talks a lot about you, and how you were young and reckless." Replied Chen. "The only time I saw her smile is when she tells a story about her little sister." He then shook Suyin's hand.

If Lin knew what Chen said today, she would be absolutely mad.

'I have two futures. One is a dead man, and the other is a trapped man in a different world. Got nothing to lose.'

"Thank you. I have to admit something. I was a little bit scared to approach her. But with what you said, I think I can reach a conclusion with her." Suyin turned to Korra. "Sorry, Avatar. I would have spent more time with you, but I will visit my older sister first. Kuvira, help the Avatar and her friends."

"Never mind." Korra waved her hand in front of her face. "Please, talk with your sister."

Smiling, Suyin then turned and left with her family.

Korra stood on her toes and whispered in Chen's ears. "What was that?"

"What do you mean?"

"You know. You said that you were on Lin's side, now that you are on Suyin's side. I'm confused."

Chen smirked. It's all for trolling

"There's nothing to be confused about." Asami interrupted. "Chen is just trying to fix some relationship, right?"

"Yeah, all I think about is fixing things." Chen nodded.

Korra faked a few coughs.

"Anyway, let's get the fuel and things," Chen said, turning his head to see a middle height well-built woman, in metal armour and a green costume.

Staring at her deep sharp eyes, he said. "Kuvira wasn't it?"

"Yes, that's my name." She said, her tone robotic. "I'm tasked to help you with what you need."

"Right." Chen took a deep breath. "Show me a nice restaurant, and help Asami to get what things she needs for the plane."
