Chapter 109: WHO COULD HAVE THOUGHT?
Ella drops the call with a mixed feeling and mood. She is happy that Vivian is happy and married with the man she loves and at the same time she is sad that she isn't part of Vivian's happiness at the moment.
Again, she remembers her mom. If her mom hadn't been killed, She wouldn't have been separated from Vivian like this. As she remembers her parents and grandparents, she curses those people that killed them. "Even after ten years, I still haven't done anything." Ella says to herself. "When am I really going to avenge my parents and grandparents death? Why am I so powerless? Why is everything just dark? Should I forget Nigeria just like that?" She asks herself and her phone rings again. She picks it up and it happens to be Shamim. "Hello."
"Hi dear, where are you at?" Shamim asks.
"I am on my way out, but still very close to the house." Ella frowns. "What do you want again? My car keys?"
"Are you joking?" He asks and laughs. "Hell no, today is sunday I wonder why you are not around today."
"Mr man, tell me what the issue is and stop beating around the bush."
"Your friends are here to see you." Shamim says cutting off the chase.
"My friends?" Ella asks again.
"Yes, the three of them and they are waiting for you here, so just hurry up."
"Alright, entertain them well for me. I will soon be there, just give me some minutes." Ella says and hangs up. "I wonder why they are here without even informing me earlier." She whispers to herself.
At once, Ella ignites the car and drives back home. Getting home, she is welcomed warmly by her two baby sisters.
"Big sis." Kylie says and embraces Ella tightly and happily.
"Mama." Kim murmurs and hugs her too.
"My baby girls." Ella says as she embraces her sister's consecutively. "Where is mom and dad?"
"They went out together but long ago." Kylie replies with all smiles.
"Alright."Ella nods and moves close to her friends and brother. "Hey guys." She says and sits very close to Abdullah.
"Where were you going to earlier before?" Abdullah asks.
"Sundays are meant for resting Ella, you should always rest." Asma adds.
"Why are you not saying anything?" Darifa asks too with a dumb look.
"You guys should let me be." Ella retorts. "I need to work and make more money."
"You don't need money, you need a man!" Shamim says loudly with a sign of mockery.
"Shut up!" Ella says loudly and faces her sisters. "You both should go to your room and play."
"Alright." Kylie and Kim choruses and runs to their room happily.
"So what were you saying?" Ella asks facing Shamim.
"I didn't says anything at all my dear." Shamim says denying.
"You actually do need a man you know, maybe he world make you stop work a little." Asma says not looking at Ella.
"I don't know why you all are so obsessed with this man thing." Ella says frowning. "You all complain about me, but never say anything about Abdullah who doesn't have a girlfriend too."
Darifa, Asma and Shamim exchange short glances. They are all aware that Abdullah is deeply in love with Ella and will not date anyone except her.
Trying to change the topic, Asma looks for something else to say. "Did you see the pictures I sent you?" She asks Ella.
"Yes I did, but I don't like any of them." Ella folds her arms. "I do not like too colorful things."
"But guy red like cars?" Abdullah asks maintaining eye contact.
"Actually." Ella whispers and scratches the back of her head. "I only like it and fancy it that much, because you bought it for me."
"Oh! I see." Abdullah says and laughs gently.
Shamim phone rings, he checks and it happens to be his rude girlfriend Cassandra. He picks the call up with a smile. "Hey baby girl."
"Imagine how he is grinning from ear to ear speaking to that witch." Ella murmurs to Abdullah.
"He really likes her though." Abdullah whispers too.
"She is so uncultured and very ratchet, I don't like her at all." Ella fumes.
"At least, he is a happy with her." Abdullah holds Ella hands. "I want you to come with me to my place this night."
"Really?" Ella asks with a smile. "Is there anything going on today?"
"Not really, I just want us to have a good time together that's all."
"Alright no problem, but I will have to leave very early tomorrow morning."
Abdullah is enjoying his talk with his love, Ella and Abdullah are talking so quietly that no one can hear them too. Darifa and Asma get somehow bored and tries to start up a conversation.
"Darifa, come to think of it. Who could have thought that Principal Lola would have adopted Ella?" Asma asks a little loud that Shamim, Abdullah and Ella heard it so clearly.
Abdullah clears his throwing and says loudly. "Asma have you settled the issues you have with your boyfriend?" He asks trying to cover up what Asma asked earlier.
"Yes of course, we settled all differences last night." Asma answers with a smile.
"That is good." Ella says loudly too with a smile trying her best to make sure she covers what her friend Just asked.
Shamim continues his conversation with his girlfriend, and every other person is doubting if he heard or not.
"Ella, please make something for us to eat. I am really famished." Asma says holding her belly tightly.
"Oh! Let me make something for you all to eat." Ella stands and faces her friends that didn't act as if they are coming with her. "So nobody is coming with me?"
"Come on Ella, at least we are visitors here. You can keep doing this every time." Darifa nags.
"Shamim!" Ella calls loudly.
"What is it?" He asks covering his mouth piece and whispering to her. "Can't you see I am on a call?"
"Who is going to assist me in the kitchen?" Ella asks again.
