Chapter 103: Chapter 103: Reading a book (Edited)
'Scar-Head isn't here! This is something new,' Fish thought as he touched Harry's bed with his paw, which was cold and seemed to have been gone for a while.
Fish tilted his head and remembered that he had heard some movement in his sleep, but had thought it was Scarhead getting up to go to the bathroom or something, so after twitching his ears, he ignored it.
Now it seemed that Scarhead had taken his invisibility cloak and gone for a night walk.
He couldn't have used the cloak to test Fluffy by himself, could he?
Fish was slightly worried for Harry's safety, even though he had introduced them to Fluffy, he hadn't forgotten that Professor Scarhead had been bitten by Fluffy earlier.
'But I said during the day that the Invisibility Cloak can't hide from Fluffy, and Scarhead shouldn't be so stupid...', thought Fish.
Wagging his tail and jumping off Harry's bed, Fish left the bedroom.
If Scarhead had really gone after Fluffy, he would have been bitten by now, so there was no need to rush in there.
That's what Fish thought, and that's what he did.
He didn't head for the third floor right away, but began his usual patrol of the territory.
With his tail up, he started slowly from the seventh floor, floor by floor, and before long he was on the fifth floor of the castle.
"Meow?" ?ω?
He had already heard it on the fifth floor, and it seemed to be a bit noisy on the fourth floor, and at first Fish thought it was Peeves, who usually made those noises when he patrolled the territory.
But now that he had listened more carefully, however, it seemed that it had nothing to do with Peeves, but was probably the voices of Big Eyes and Professor Greasehead.
Curious, Fish quickened his pace and approached the place where the voice came from.
"Meow~ (=ΦωΦ=)?"
Soon Fish saw Big Eyes with the oil lamp and Professor Greasehead standing next to him, and he ran up to them and greeted them.
"Fish?"
Filch froze and then glanced furtively at Snape beside him, who seemed to have no intention of chasing Fish, before crouching down and continuing to ask Fish, "Did you just touch the Forbidden Zone book?"
"Meow?"
Fish cocked his head and turned into a cat-man, continuing to crouch on the floor, shaking his head like a rattle, "No meow, I don't like reading, and those Forbidden Zone books, they feel a bit weird meow, I don't want to touch them..."
As a frequent wanderer around Hogwarts, Fish had been to the forbidden section of the library, but most of the books there had a cold or rotten smell that made Fish very uncomfortable, so he basically didn't go there.
"I came here to see what's going on here... Is Peeves causing trouble again, or is someone else wandering around at night, meow?" before Filch could speak further, Fish asked rhetorically.
"It's not Peeves, there should be other students who snuck into the forbidden area to read those dangerous books." Filch replied.
"Yes meow..."
Fish turned his head and looked around, then shrugged his nose and sniffed ...
Sure enough, it was Scarhead.
Fish had already guessed that whoever was making the noise was probably Harry in his invisibility cloak, and after confirming the smell nearby, a look of recognition came over his face.
Snape, who had been watching Fish, suddenly said, "I see, do you know who that is?"
"Meow? what are you talking about, Professor Greasehead? Fish doesn't understand..."(●?ω?●).
Looking at Fish on the floor who was averting his gaze, even Filch could see that he knew who had just been here. Just as he debated whether or not to ask Fish who the other student was, Snape snorted and headed for the stairs.
"If you don't know, don't stay out too long, even if Dumbledore has made an exception for you."
This was what Snape told him as he walked past Fish, who was still crouched on the floor, and told Filch to let him know whenever he found someone wandering around the school, mainly to be on guard against Quirrell, though it was Christmas break and he didn't stay at school, but who knows if he'll be sneaking back.
As for Fish's reaction at this point, it was obvious that the person he was familiar with broke into the forbidden area, and Snape guessed it was probably the Weasley twins, so there was no need to waste any more time here.
"Wait for me, Professor."
Filch hastily pulled a bag of dried fish out of his pocket, shoved it into Fish's hand, and then set off after Snape as well.
"Dried fish!"(●?ω?●)
Fish took the dried fish and ate it as he walked nonchalantly around the fourth floor, twitching his nose every now and then, trying to find Harry's location.
But by then, Harry's scent had been dispersed by Filch and Snape, and the scent of the bag of dried fish in his hand interfered with his ability to find Harry's exact location.
After a quick glance around the fourth floor without finding Scarhead, Fish didn't bother to search any further and continued down the stairs as he nibbled on the dried fish, then headed straight for Fluffy's location.
"Fluffy, I came to see you, meow!"(●ΦωΦ●)?
Pushing the wooden door with familiarity, Fish took out his magic bag, he had received so many goodies today that he didn't need to go to the kitchen to replenish the food.
"I have a lot of food that I haven't seen before today, let's eat it~"
Fish turned his magic bag over, pinched the bottom two corners and shook it a couple of times, and immediately a huge pile of food fell out of it, along with his favorite Christmas treats... except for Professor Flitwick's cat climber.
"Wow!" ×3
Fluffy wagged his tail excitedly and all three heads came over to sniff at the pile of food Fish had thrown down, but instead of going straight for it like he usually did, he waited with his tongue out for Fish to unwrap it.
"Eat the uneaten ones first!"
Fish picked out the uneaten treats and tossed them aside, then picked up a snack he hadn't eaten before, unwrapped it and shared it with Fluffy.
Fish had already eaten a lot today, and had just eaten a bag of dried fish before he arrived, so he was soon full.
"I'll keep this, I'll eat with you again next time... Here, have some, I have plenty more!"(●ΦωΦ●)つ
Fish put away the new food he hadn't tasted yet, then pushed the rest to Fluffy.
"Oooh...!" ×3
Now that he didn't have to give in to Fish, Fluffy let out a howl of excitement from all three heads and buried his head in the pile of food, gobbling it up.
Even the glass and metal of the cans melted easily in the stomach acid of the three-headed dog.
With nothing else to do, Fish grabbed the Christmas presents he had just put away and used them to pass the time.
Fish got on the children's broom that Professor McGonagall had given him for the first time, and after a couple of laps around Fluffy he lost interest, the broom was not as fast as Austin and the others.
And now that he could ride Pegasus like Thestrals, he didn't need a broom.
So he perched on Fluffy's back, looked for a flat place to sit, pulled out the "Illustrated Guide to Cats of the World" Hermione had given her, opened a music box, and for the first time in his life set out to read a book voluntarily.
Of course, thanks to the fact that Hermione's book is mostly pictures, otherwise Fish wouldn't have been interested in reading it otherwise.
"Why aren't the pictures in this book moving, meow?"
Fish mumbled in confusion as he poked at the drawing of the tiger in the book, but soon figured it out.
"The posters Dean put over his bed don't move either, like he said Muggle pictures don't move... obviously TV pictures do meow..."
As Fish pondered whether Dean Thomas was lying or not, a sudden snore was heard below him.
"Meow?" ?ω?
