Chapter 485: Chapter 483: The Siren's Song (Edited)

Although Harry was a bit embarrassed in the end, the first event was overall a success, and the clue to the second event was revealed directly by Fish, so the four champions left the store relaxed.

Well, maybe Harry wasn't in such a relaxed mood.

"Wait a minute nya."

(??ˇ?ˇ??)

Fish flapped his ears as he walked back, stopping suddenly and looking off into the distant forest.

"Let's go another way."

Fish said to Harry, who was traveling with him, and Hermione and Ron, who were waiting for them outside the tent.

"What's going on?" asked Harry cautiously.

"The reporter who wrote bad things about you and Hermione is hiding out front." Fish pointed to the distant forest and whispered, "She's always bothering Fish, but Fish doesn't want an interview."

"I don't want him to interview me either." Said Harry grumpily and hurriedly said, "Let's go around her."

Rita Skeeter waited in the woods for a while, wondering why she hadn't heard anything when, by her reckoning, Fish and the others should be nearby.

She cautiously poked her head out and looked around, but no one was there.

"Where is everyone?!"

Skeeter jumped out of the forest and looked around for Fish and Harry, but of course, she found nothing....

Fish and the others returned to the castle and were surprisingly well received and congratulated, even by the prejudiced Harry, many of whom no longer felt bad about not being chosen after seeing their rivals and the events at the Triwizard Tournament.

Except, of course, for a certain kitten who had fought a fire dragon.

At the end of the night, the Gryffindor students organized a celebration in the common room for the two champions, and with Fish as a VIP at Hogwarts, the twins only had to mention it to the kitchen elves and a steady stream of hot food arrived in the Gryffindor common room.

"By the way, what was that noise in the golden egg? You're not facing a banshee for your next event, are you?" asked Lee Jordan, after a bit of excitement.

"It's not a banshee, it's a mermaid." Harry replied, "That's what Fish said."

"Sirens? is the sound of a siren that scary?".

"Mermaids sound normal in the water, but when they come out of the water, they sound like this nya... By the way, Albus knows the language of mermaids, and when he speaks mermaid it sounds ugly like that scream nya."

Ψ(?Φ~Φ?)

Fish chewed his food and replied vaguely.

"So, just put the golden egg in the water, and you'll hear the right clue?" Fred perked up and shouted, "What are you waiting for? Let's give it a try."

A small space was quickly vacated and Sharpay transformed a table into a large barrel of water with a transfiguration spell.

"Aguamenti!"

A dozen people pulled out their wands and filled the barrel with water, which was soon filled to overflowing.

Harry put his golden egg in the barrel and opened it.

A gurgling song emanated from the egg, which came from under the water, so no one could hear what was being sung.

Harry took a deep breath and stuck his head in the barrel, Fish wiped his greasy mouth and ran to the barrel and stuck his head in, followed by a few curious Gryffindors.

And then there was a comical scene in the common room: a circle of people lying on the edge of the barrel of water, all of them sticking their heads in the water, and next to them, several people annoyed at being one step behind.

And those with their heads in the tank heard strange, but not at all unpleasant, voices singing in unison in the water

Where our voices sound come and find us,

for our songs are not heard on land,

we have taken what you value most,

and to find it you have one hour.

After confirming that the voice in the golden egg was the contents, Fish pulled his head out of the water, then shook his head, shaking off all the drops of water on his head... and throwing them on the people next to him.

"It's Mercus and the others." said Fish confidently.

"Mercus?" asked a Gryffindor who didn't understand.

"Mercus is the leader of the Sirens of the Black Lake, which is where our second event is supposed to take place."

Harry answered quickly, fearing Fish would say something that would give him a heart attack. And he quickly changed the subject to what he had just heard in the water, telling everyone to stop focusing on Mercus.

"... The lyrics to the whole song, that's it."

"So the second point is for you to go to the lake and find the mermaids, because they took your beloved treasure?". George rubbed his chin and mused, "Sounds better than a fire dragon...".

"What?!"

∑(?ΦДΦ?)

Fish hugged his tail tightly, "Mercus and the others want to steal Fish's tail!?".

The other Gryffindor students: "..."

"I don't think the song means that, Fish..." explained Hermione dumbfounded, "It's probably a way of dropping off some object you like or value with the mermaids and asking you to go retrieve it." "

"But... there are a lot of things Fish likes..." Fish wiggled his fingers, "Meat pies, sweet and sour pork, televisions, Golden Snitch, cat climbers, the flying broom that Minerva gave me and the flying car that Hermione gave me.... Fish loves them all nya!".

"What the mermaids took is not the point, the point of the second event is, how are you going to breathe freely under the bottom of the Black Lake, and find the mermaids and retrieve the treasure from them in less than an hour."

Hermione patiently continued to help Fish with his analysis.

"Oh... wouldn't that be easy nya? Fish knows where they live, I've been to the mermaid village several times nya."

(●`?'●)

Fish said smugly, shaking his head.

As for breathing underwater, it was even easier, Fish knew several spells for breathing underwater, both his own "Druid spells" and magic spells of wizards.

"It's easy for you, but I'm not even a very good swimmer...", Harry said bitterly.

"It's very easy, you just have to use a woooooo..."

Fish, who was about to give Harry an idea, had his mouth covered by several hands.

"What are you doing?"

?(?`ω′?)?

Fish shouted in exasperation as he broke away from the group of girls.

"You and Harry are rivals!" Alicia Spinnet pinched Fish's cheek and said angrily, "Harry is one of the champions, he should be able to solve his problems on his own, and if he needs help, it shouldn't be from you, who are also a champion."

She paused and then said to Harry, "I'm sorry, Harry, it's nothing personal."

"I understand." Harry nodded, and also said to Fish, "Thank you for your kind words, Fish, but let me sort things out myself, you've done me a great favor by telling me the clue to the golden egg."

"Oh..." Fish scratched his head, realizing, "just like Fish didn't want to know about the spell you used against the fire dragon nya?"

(??ω??) ?

"Sort of..."

Although Fish didn't understand anything, Harry wasn't in the mood to explain it to him, so he nodded with a bitter smile.

"Alright then, Harry, you're on your own nya, Fish is going for a walk." Fish saw that Harry had said so too, so he wasn't going to rush to help him.

"Hermione, let's go." Fish turned his head and took Hermione's hand, walking out of the bedroom.

Once they were out of the common room, Harry's expression fell.

For all his rhetoric, he still had no idea how to solve the problem of breathing underwater.

"Ron! Help me!"
