Chapter 24: Can I like you?
Esmeralda pulled her face out of the nice-smelling man's chest and looked back at the high-class woman. She waved at all of them. "Hi, guys. Don't doubt my honey's taste. I'm one in a million kinds of beauty."
"Esmeralda Fox?" Asher gasped and so did Violet.
Esmeralda gave a look to Ethan who didn't recognise her but these people did.
"Hi, I'm Esmeralda, " Esmeralda waved at them as if they weren't talking shit about her.
"She is your fiancée?" Violet asked again.
"Of course, I'm!" Esmeralda said with a huff. She was just bluffing to prove a point to Oliver and this bitchy barbie doll. Huh, who asked them to disrespect her Ivy?
"Then, where is your ring?" Violet asked with a scoff.
"Honey, why don't I have a ring?" Esmeralda looked pitifully at Ethan and asked. Of course, she easily blamed Ethan.
"Umm I have not gotten it back from the jeweller as it was the wrong size, " Ethan lied without batting an eyelash. This woman should at least give him a script to follow, shouldn't she? She was natural to acting but he was stiff as hell.
"I'm reluctantly forgiving you, "Esmeralda pouted. She held his arm tightly and waved at them and sweetly said, "Bye guys, we have something to do. We will see you again."
She dragged Ethan with her out of the door and Ivy followed them. Little did she know that she had created a hole for herself and there was no way she could save herself from the trap that she had made for herself. Oh yeah, it wasn't the first time she did something stupid like this.
"Honey?" Ethan asked her with an amused smirk. "Really?"
"You are in deep shit, " Ivy said in a very heavily accented English. "And I hate America."
The drink was so bad that she had to throw it away. Could she return to Italy? At least, her country made some good quality wine. And her dad owned a winery in Italy.
"You!" Esmeralda glared at her. "No curses until you are twenty-one."
"Just like no drinking?" Ivy asked with a straight face. Since her sister was going to take time to recover from her speechlessness, she turned her gaze at the old man in the suit and asked, "What's your deal with my sister? If you tried to take advantage of her, I have to warn you that I will make sure all your dirty laundry is available on the internet to see."
The lethal aura that she was emitting was not hidden from anyone.
"Are you Fox girls always this disastrous?" Ethan couldn't help but ask.
"She is my sister, I gotta keep an eye on all the guys trying to harm her, " Ivy said with a dangerous glint in her eyes.
"You are really dangerous, " Ethan noted. "But I like you."
"Hey, hey, you can't like my sister, " Esmeralda growled. She came between the two of them and said in a defensive pose, "I get it that she is eighteen but you can't like her in that way."
"Then, can I like you in that way?" Ethan asked with a smirk.
His smirk was too dangerous for her heart. "Stop smirking at me!"
This time he smiled at her.
"You can't smile at me either, " She said.
"Says who?" He flirted.
"I said this!" Esmeralda said. She held Ivy's arm and tried to run from there, "Also, we are going home. It was nice seeing you again, Mr Steel Blue eyes. But let's not meet again."
"I beg to differ, " Ethan smiled sweetly at this woman. "You claimed to be my fiance in front of the world and now you have to fulfill the role."
"No!!!" Esmeralda cried.
"You should have thought before spouting nonsense in front of my cousin and his wife, "Ethan smirked as he looked at her. "Come on, honey, don't back off now."
"You are a bastard, "Esmeralda said without any filter. "Oh ivy baby, close your ears."
Ivy sighed at her sister and said, "Your censorship is just like Youtube's. Always late. But never mind…." She put her fingers in her ears.
"Mr Steel blue eyes, back the fuck off, " Esmeralda growled. "You don't know what can I do!"
"Emerald, you are cute when you threaten, " Ethan smiled at her.
"Asshole, I'm carrying with nuts cracker with me, " Esmeralda threatened him.
"Now you are dangerous."
