Chapter 6: Growing Up

Life became monotonous after awhile. Nothing new really happened. I guessed that it was because the rebellion was a few years away and that any activities won't pick up until a couple of months from when it's supposed to start.

From the rumblings of patrons that I could overhear while my mother walked through the crowd of customers, it seems that the Enforcers are doing their usual antics. These 'antics' consists of harassing the denizens of the Lanes with undue searches, assaulting anyone they don't like or that looks at them wrong, verbal abuse and forcing people to hand over money under threat of false allegations. Such issues are are causing a lot of friction between the two sides, but no one has stood up to them yet cause the forces of the Lanes are still divided and weak.

Besides that, I started to do things to entertain my mother in order to make her happy. I said my first words, which also happened to be part of my first sentence. I began to walk without going through the faze where I had to stumble around. I no longer have to worry about bathroom details.

Everyday, when my mother has time available, she'll take me to meet someone to showoff. When we're alone she just keeps asking me to do random things that she finds cute. This is then followed by me being picked up and hugged by her. This doesn't really bother me since I don't have anything else to do at the moment. I'm just biding my time until I can start on any plans I'll have in the future.

(Time Skip - 6 months)

It has now been a year since my birth. Even though I was in my mother's womb for a whole year, I wasn't born yet, so I am still considered only a year old instead of two. Nothing has changed besides the amount of knowledge I have and the new template I redeemed.

For the five new knowledge I received, I chose to build upon the techniques I got from Orochimaru and the knowledge I got from other people from the same world. I received more complete knowledge of fuinjutsu, taijutsu, genjutsu and ninjutsu. This allowed me to have most knowledge based on the core abilities of the Naruto world that I deemed necessary. I already know how to use shurikens, kunais and ninja stealth techniques thanks to Orochimaru's knowledge and experience.

For the fifth knowledge, I chose to receive the knowledge of the High Evolutionary(Marvel). This knowledge mixed with Orochimaru, Kabuto, Sunade and Richard Parker's will help boost my knowledge of the human body and genetics. It will also provide the same info on animals and it was modified to included this world's animals to the same standard. This will also work well in tandem with Orochimaru's studies on genetics and how to fuse different genes into one vessel.

For the template, I chose Poison Ivy, but since I already had everything from her except her superpower, it was considered an incomplete template and I was able to pick a few more templates. I chose to enhance Poison Ivy's superpower with that of Swamp Thing and Jason Woodrow(DC), but only their superpowers and not their memory and experience, but even without that, I was able to know how to use the powers and what they were capable of making or doing. Now the amount and types of plants I can grow range from normal(Swamp Thing) to mutated(Poison Ivy) to alien(Jason Woodrow).

(A/N: Jason Woodrow was from a separate dimension. When he makes plants, the ones grown or created are fundamentally different from plants grown on Earth. Batman was able to tell the difference between these plant users due to the plants' structures.)

After gaining these abilities and knowledge, I would occasionally experiment with the plants. My mother found me making an animal creature like plant from the ground. I didn't really care if anyone knew nor did I try to hide it. I could essentially kill most people with poisonous plants and pollen now if I wanted to keep it hush. I could also just make a hallucinogenic pollen that could help with altering memories.

At first she was frightened and yanked me away from it, but I set its personality and behavior to be like that of a loyal dog. It was easy to get it to do what I wanted and helped calm my mother down. I was then able to explain the situation. After hearing everything, She was ecstatic again and hurriedly called for Vander.

When he arrived and saw the strange beast like plant, he tried to beat it up, but was stopped by my mother and I. It took another round of explanations to get him to understand the situation. After he was caught up, I told them about the possibility of using my ability to grow medicine that could help against illness and injuries. I also talked about new forms of fruits and vegetables that we could use as a source of food and revenue. Vander really loved the thought of me making some plants that could be used to make alcohol and not the vile stuff people of the Lanes have to get used to.

After that, my mother was able to get more ingredients for her cooking and Vander happily took a few in order to start the process of making alcohol. Of course all these ingredients were new to him and would take him some time of trial and error.

Business and the Last Drop went through a boom after people were able to tree the new food. Ones that were made with the common vegetable were popular due to people of the Lanes not being able to buy fresh fruit and vegetables. Vander took the opportunity to mention the future stuff he would be making.

(Time Skip - 6 months)

During the next six months, I received knowledge of medicine, which included herbal medicine as well as modern and knowledge, about plants. Then, it was the knowledge insects and poisons. These also contained information on Gu, which could be a deadly secret weapon, and antidotes. The last ones were just knowledge of Swamp Thing and Jason Woodrow, so that I could use my power better.

Besides this and then increase in customers, nothing much happened. I would say the only unique that happened was that a couple of Enforcers showed up at the Last Drop for a bite to eat. Apparently the news of the food here ahs been getting around. Vander still hasn't been able to finish making any new alcohol as it needs time to ferment, so he was still serving the regular stuff. It was easy to see that they didn't like the drinks at all and they probably knew not to drink the water since they weren't used to the toxicity of the air and water.

Also, with the help of my mother and Vander, a greenhouse was made as an attached building to the Last Drop and that was where I grew most of the plants, even some unusual ones. I also had plants that were able to absorb the pollution in the water, soil and air and create a cleaner environment in the green house. It also made fruit that housed as the toxic materials it absorbed before allow them to drop from its branches. These plants were called Doctor plants.

These fruit were inedible as they contained the poison that plagued the Lanes in concentrated form. The fruits were also hard as stone and would preserved for long periods of time without rotting. I kept them somewhere safe for later use.

All of this caused the green house to be a nice area to visit for a bit of relief for the customers who would visit. This caused Vander to see another business opportunity. The green house was expanded and the insides renovated to contain a picnic area for customers to eat and relax, for a fee of course.

I was the main person in charge of this area since I was the one who made and took care of the plants here. The fee to enter wasn't expensive, so the earnings weren't a lot, but what was earned was given to my mother with a little bit going to Vander.

I was able to spend a lot of time here by myself, cause Vander and my mother knew I would be protected by the plants while there. While there, I also had a task to complete. I would go around and collect the fruit of the doctor plant.

(A/N: Guys, if y'all have any opinions about knowledge or items he should get, let know in the comment section of this sentence.
