Chapter 2: Chapter two

"This is more of a chase, not a drive" The driver said.

We slowed down a little bit and the car behind was given a greater chance of getting them.

"What the!! Driver please. C'mon, I'll give you extra payments, please. I'll pay you, just as you want to be paid." I said.

"I don't want to be caught and yes, it's a chase." I added.

The driver became reluctant to heed to get instruction. I begged him a good number of times.

Eighteen minutes so far on an unknown road, the car was still very close to the taxi.

"Oh my goodness,Alysa. I wish I didn't leave my office, I wish I stayed back." I said after analysing the whole situation. I regretted it. I started gathering my bag and other things behind the taxi. My bag kept pouring out because of the sharp ends the driver took, accompanied with speed.

It was a situation of hook, line and sinker. It was enough to predict that I would escape.

I thought I could escape.

"I'm really trying, the car behind might get us." The driver said while turning the drivers wheel, like turning a switch to the highest.

"Oh no!" I said with so much fear in her voice.

"I can't get caught. Please help me." I screamed. I banged the driver's seat from behind.

"I think he's gonna catch us, ma'am." The driver released himself with some speed brakes.

"Catch us? Who? Stop all of this!" I scolded the driver.

"How won't I get caught when you're just drifting and turning into unknown roads?"

"Don't you have a map? Huh?" I asked angrily.

"Don't you see the speed? If we bang on something…" The driver paused.

"I don't want to die." He concluded.

The driver was silent for a while.

"We've lost the car!" I said with so much excitement.

The driver took a big turn into a different lane, but the sun can be seen anywhere you go during the day.

"Oh, no!" The driver said as used the speed brakes and the car stopped.

" What again is the problem, you taxi…" I paused.

I was caught, but it was so difficult to believe.

"...driver—" I completed my sentence in shock and amazement.

"I guess we've reached the destination." The driver said.

"Oh Shit!"

"Oh no! This cannot be happening—Tell me it's a dream."

The car blocked the whole road. I bumped my hand on the head rest of the driver's seat.

I could no longer bear running away from my problem—Getting caught too wasn't an option.

I emptied my wallet to pay the taxi driver.

"Thank you—" I said coldly and she gave the taxi driver all the cash I had on me.

I grabbed my bag and hat, and went out of the taxi. I stood beside the taxi furiously as the taxi drove away. I was left alone.

To my greatest surprise, it wasn't one car, or two!

I was surrounded by a lot of cars—This was the end of the tunnel and I didn't find light.

All the cars looked the same. I was shocked.

"Finally." I said.

The car in front of me flashed its light and the cars opened all at once.

The stage that was played had so much charisma on its tails. The Beta, Cory who was sent by Jeremy stood out with so much confidence —A catch well done!

I also disliked him. His deep voice was too disgusting for me. I should like it but his personality swallows why I don't.

"Jeremy sent me." Cory said.

I hated the way he acted like Jeremy's shadow or Personal assistant.

Goosebumps braced the whole of my body, my confidence was blown out like a candle.

"Please, leave me alone." I said with a shaky voice. I took heavy breaths—my anxiety had the best of me.

"This is not my home anymore. I don't have a home!" I said, getting my anxiety in the best of control.

Cory's phone rang immediately after I completed my sentence.

It was a video call from the Alpha, Jeremy. Cory picked the call and raised the above chest to give a portrait view. It was on speaker. Jeremy started talking immediately. I felt disgusted after having to set my eyes on him in three years.

It seemed like Cory had updated Jeremy on what was going on—Jeremy sounded so updated.

"Alysa, why?"

"I watched you grow up beautifully. I mean, we had a beautiful family." Jeremy said as his voice was high on fury.

"So why would you say you don't have a home?" Jeremy asked.

"How dare you?" I became furious. I bend my head and look at the direction of Cory and Jeremy.

"I don't have a home anymore, and what are you spilling from your mouth? Let me go." I screamed.

"Hmm" Jeremy said. Everywhere was quiet for a while.

"Please, I'm begging you, please let me go. I'm not owing you, or anyone" I begged, I put my hands together while pleading for my freedom. All my efforts remained futile.

"No." Jeremy said after dispersing a sight of pity on me

He kept a straight face. He gave a sarcastic smile along with it. I was so scared. I had no one to cling to, to help.

"No, I can't even dare myself to let you go." He smiled again.

The fury in I boiled over, way out of proportion. I frowned in disgust.

"I curse you, Jeremy. You have been so unfair. You've been too cruel to me. Jeremy, You are a beast!" I said as I cried out loud. I cursed Jeremy as tears flooded through my eyes. It was the least I could do, no one was holding my mouth captive. I was devastated.

"You are here, holding me captive for no deliberate reason." I struggled with my inner strength. I had to speak for myself, I needed my peace.

"A home you say, where my loved one was slayed in cold blood." I said furiously

"You killed my Foster mother. You did. She was all I had, all my family, my everything!" I raised my voice.

"How dare you, hold me in captivity and in boldness? Why should you say I have a family? Which family?" I became bold as she threw questions at Jeremy.

"These are questions you can't answer. Questions that can't be reasoned in peace." I criticised.

Weakness and strength became mixed in different proportions. I smiled in all

I raised my voice and used all the strength she had left.

"I have absolutely nothing to do with your family anymore. I have no relationship with them, nothing!" I declared.

Jeremy was silent and sad. He shook his head in bitterness.

"Oh, my dear. I'm so sorry." Jeremy said as fake sympathy was the shadow to each word that came out of his mouth.

He looked sad for a moment and smiled with it—the hate I had for him was building fast.

"The death of your foster mother was a mere accident. It wasn't anyone's fault. It was an accident." He said his words lacked sincerity.

I looked away in despair.

"I really want you to come home, so you could be treated well. So you can be loved and cared for" Jeremy added.

"To hell with your love and care, Jeremy. To hell with you! I don't expect anything from you, or your companions." I said. I was filled with so much bitterness.

We stood out there for a while, I was angry but I just couldn't help myself.

"How do you expect me to find comfort in the hands of those who killed my only family? I'm not asking for your fake sympathy. I'm going nowhere with you, absolutely nowhere!" I criticised.

"Aren't you ashamed of yourself? When will you be tired of being a hypocrite? Your actions disgust me, Jeremy." I said with my fainting voice.

I stretched out my index finger towards him.

"You will pay for all your crimes, I promise you." I said while bringing down my hands and folding my hands into a fist.

"That's up to you." Jeremy said coldly.

"If you come back with them obediently, I will make you my Luna." He added.
