Chapter 10: Deception
Lee asked me to join the acting club, I'm thinking about it, to be honest, it was really fun acting with him, even though it was not really acting, but reading.
Someday I'll probably try acting, but not now, right now I just want to focus on my music. I couldn't stop a smile, I felt bubbly when he said that I was good at acting, even though he praised himself while doing it.
my eyes were focused on him, then he grabbed my hand, my heart felt like jumping off my chest, I felt my face getting hot.
His mouth was each second closer to mine, I knew he wanted to kiss me, and I wanted it too. I didn't felt ready for it, though.
— Noooo… — I screamed and pushed him away.
I don't hate the idea of kissing him, but we don't know each other well enough… And it is my first kiss, I'm afraid I would mess up if I'm not ready.
I don't know how to face him, I'm a coward, I know, but the only way to get out of this embarrassment is running.
I'm really used to it, running away from everything that's in my way.
I turned towards the door, and started walking away from him and this awkward feeling.
— Wait. — Said Lee, and then he grabbed my hand, he held it firmly, I couldn't go away now.
I was still gazing the door, I was too afraid of looking into his eyes, so I was ignoring his grip, but after some time he was still holding my hand, so I had to face him, his feelings.
I know what he wants, that's what makes me feel terrified.
His face was a mix of emotions, I felt my heart ache when I saw his narcissist traces away from here, right now he was looking rather unconfident.
— I…— He said, he tried to say something, but he shook his head and gave up.
Maybe his narcissism is just a way to disguise the fears from within.
— Never mind. — His voice was full of embarrassment and sadness.
I felt like a terrible person, his hand was cold sweating, but what could do I? I couldn't do something like that, I hope he understands it.
— Just pretend it never happened, please. — Once time again, that low voice, that looked like struggling to get out of his throat, when he said.
I don't know why, thinking that he was about to confess made me flushed, my heart beating faster, but I wasn't ready yet.
I'm glad he didn't, so we still can be friends. I really appreciate being with him, almost every time we laugh about stupid things.
— What happened? — I said, I didn't want to loose his friendship.

— I…— I would confess to her, but I couldn't, I know that she doesn't think about me as anything than a friend.
I really don't understand, why am I such a weirdo? I fell in love at first sight, this is real life, not a Disney movie, damn.
I really feel something different about her, but she doesn't feel the same. Of course, I'm the weirdo who fell in a week.
— Never mind. — I said and got my hand off hers.
Why am I like this? I always mess things up. I really put the cart before the horse, perhaps she hates me now?
— Just pretend it never happened, please. — Maybe she'll hate me, but I at least will try, I still want her friendship. Even if we can't be anything else than friends, it'll be enough.
— What happened? — She looked confused when she said it to me.
She's really a great actress.
To be honest, I was disappointed, I really wanted her to feel the same as me, but I'm not giving up, I'll take a step back, so I'll get two steps forward in the future.
— What are you talking? Nothing happened. — I said, and sighed out of relief.
We both laughed after this, we were relieved that we could keep as friends. Some day I'll do it again, but in the right way, and right time. Things should happen in the right time.
What was I thinking? I'm not a novel protagonist, where all the woman run after him. I wanted to say that I'm prettier than any novel mc, right now I'm not in the mood for it, but I really am.
— Hey, I gotta go, I'm gonna to the acting club, see you latter. — I said with a smile, but when I turned back my eyes got wet, I won't cry, but I'm never going to get used to being rejected.
I'm gonna focus everything I have in acting, it's not that I wasn't, but I don't know how I'll handle this feeling, so I'll overwork, nothing like tiredness to forget something.
I walked to the club, I knew nobody was there, but I need something to work on. I got there, and heard someone talking. Maybe there's club activity to the seniors?
When I opened the door, Jesie, the female lead of the play, was reading out loud some lines. I recognized those lines, It was what I just practiced with Julia. Why am I so unlucky? I'm trying to forget, but seems it won't be easy.
— Hey, Jesse. — I said to her, trying to forget what just happened.
— Yo, are you Lee, right? — She said, looking at me surprised.
— I came here to practice, and then I found practicing here too. Can I join you? — I said, surprise was evident in my tone, but I couldn't disguise the sadness in my voice.
— Yeah, let's go. — She said, and started reading out her lines.
Her aura looked totally different when she got in her practice, she looked like someone different, I am curious with how good she'd be if that thing happened again.
I read my lines too, and then we got in that, until we finished that scene. What scene, you ask me? The same scene I did with Julia. I was uncomfortable, but I did my best, so we wouldn't need to do it again.
We got to the next scene, and when we started.
— This damned king, he killed John. That bastard, he kidnapped John's wife, and killed him. — I said, my body trembling, rage filling my body.
— Calm down, Zeus, what could we do? We are just some random villagers in this country. If the king raises his finger, we would be dead. — Hera's body trembled as she said, she was furious, but she had to say calm.
— We're already dead, Hera. — I shouted, I'm not like Hera, I can't control myself when I'm furious.
— Shut up, Zeus. — Hera shouted, she finally lost control.
— It's because of things like that, if you weren't a hothead, our country wouldn't fall. Don't you see, Zeus? We have each other, but if we raise against him, we may fall in the battleground and achieve nothing. — She dropped tears, all her body was trembling.
— I won't risk losing you, Zeus. — Her voice was so low that if Zeus was a meter away, he wouldn't be able to listen to what she said.
— What the… — Said Jessie, she was completely immersed in Hera personality moments ago, but suddenly she got back into her senses.
[Congrats, host. You've found another hidden skill.]
— Jessie, that was, amazing. — I said, speechless, her crying, rage, even her fingers trembling, everything was perfect.
— Wow. — Both of them heard someone saying something.
When they turned they head, they saw a boy, holding a camera at them. When he saw he was noticed, he ran away. Later on, the video he recorded would be known as the Legend's ascension.
