Chapter 17: Chapter 16: safe for now

Forming a triangle shape Hiori leading them, zombies came running at them. when they came at a reachable sight they would strike then before the zombies could reach after them!

they walked slowly towards the storage room still keeping the form as they kill the zombies in front of them, the number of zombies inside the gym are decreasing!

arriving at the front of the storage room, Hiori quickly make her way back as she and Rui sensei swtiched places. Hiori is now guarding their backs as Haru and Kaede are keeping the sides. Rui sensei knocked on the door then she called her sisters name. "Inoue it's me open up!"

Kei who's still waiting at the rooftop is gently rubbing on his stomach as it growls loudly, after thinking for long he grabbed his stainless steel rod. He swung it as he 'dance' making turns, after his warm up he took a deep breath then he walked to the door. Kei went down he hit on their legs with force intending to immobilize them but they still kept on going for him despite the broken legs.

Kei was stunned, he whistled then he smiled as he swung his stainless steel rod on to their head! seeing that hitting them on the head works he laughed as he maniacally swung his rod unto their heads, sometimes thrusting it as it burst inside their heads!

He force his way through till he got out!

Kei is now outside the school gate, he got out, but he is not safe yet as they could attack him in every way. Kei is very exposed right now.

"are you going out now?" Ashley said as she looked to them, worrying.

Matsuri looked at her phone then she stared at Ashley, making eye contact then she said. "Kei-nii probably went his way to get out, by now his stomach must be rumbling~ hehehe"

"what..?" Ashley looking confused

Saki joined in and said "my older brother is a glutton, but he's very reliable..."

Matsuri nodded "Mm~"

the two of them armed, Saki holding her two combat batons, and a wooden sword on Matsuri's hands.

Matsuri looked and smiled at Ashley then she said "don't worry about us~ we will get Kei-nii and come back. Shurii-nee please stay here till then? then we'll talk about our plans for the next day?"

Ashely looked at Matsuri still worried, she does looked cool with a sword on her actually it was as if the sword completed her. She didn't noticed it before because Saki stole her attention first.

Saki notice her worries, She smiled then she walked closer to Ashley then she whispered on her ear "she may look unreliable but she's the captain of the Kendo club."

Ashley didn't quite believe Saki's words. She looked at her eyes seeing that it didn't waver and looked very clear then she believe it.

Ashley sighed then she thought to herself 'one mustn't judge a book by it's cover' then she looked at Matsuri who is doing a swing in practical manner then she smiled as she said "come back quickly and always be safe. I'll prepare a feast for us to eat~" she then looked at the ready to eat cup noodles and canned food at the side

Matsuri and Saki nodded, the two of them stood at the door, Saki twist the door knob and pushed the door slowly making a small opening she first put her head out for a quick look surprisingly the zombies didn't force themselves, it is still clean inside and the glass door still intact.

Saki opened the door widely then she went out first then Matsuri followed she closed the door then.

outside the store zombies are roaming around, they noticed a silhouette, with a familiar rod on his back, he is crouching as he looked around. Matsuri and Saki looked at each other then they both chuckled.

the two of them walked closer to the glass, then they waved their hands when the person outside looked their way.

Kei took shelter at the car parked just a few steps away at the school gate, the door was coincidentally open so he got inside with no trouble. he took a breaher first, as his body relaxed hunger and thirst came. He swallowed his saliva and rubbed his growling stomach, he sighed.

He looked through his phone and open the maps and noticed that there's a convenience store nearby, just 30 minutes walk away from school to there. He made a few stretches then he got out of the car and started running.

Kei already spotted the convenience store but there's quite a lot of zombie roaming in front of it. He crouched as he move making, less noise as possible. Kei crouching at the other side of the road he looked around then he noticed a few movements inside the store, he squinted his eyes to take a better look, he smiled as he also waved his hands back at them.

Seeing the young miss and his little sister safe he sighed in relief then before he could notice the two already went outside and started smashing a few zombies. He quickly ran towards them when he noticed then he joined in on the smashing.

It took them a while to clear it then they quickly went inside as they saw more zombies coming to their way. the once cleared area is now filled with zombies once again, the zombies probably heard the smashing noises and followed it.

they locked the door and they quickly ran to the staff room, they knocked on it then it quickly opened. A big smile welcomed them.

"you returned quickly" Ashley said

Matsuri answered "Mm, we saw him crouching at the other side of the road"

Kei was standing still when they talked he stared at the beauty in front of him, His heart beats fast, even faster than when he was running away from the zombies.

Ashley felt that someone is staring at her she looked around and saw Kei looking at her with a silly smile on his face, she smiled back at him then she continued talking to Matsuri.

Kei as if he saw a goddess, her blonde hair along with her beautiful smile 'ahh~ am I dreaming? am I already dead?' his stomach growled 'ah, im not dead yet' he walked around then he saw his little sister, he stood at the side then he whispered to her "who is she?"

Saki looked at her side seeing a blushing cheeks on his face then she looked ahead and saw Ashley, understanding dawned on her then she giggled "her name is Ashley, she's working part-time in this store. but she's taken." she lied at the last part

the smile on his face went away when he heard it, he sighed as he looked at the beauty. Saki held her laugh then she nudged him with her shoulder "I was lying~ Nii-san don't be sad anymore~"

Kei looked at her still dumbfounded then Saki said "We just met today by chance, so how can I possibly know her past relationship? but she did say that she's alone"

Kei calmed down ''so her name is Ashley... what a beautiful name."

"yes, yes. my older brother is finally falling~"

"she's a foreigner right? her japanese is really good"

"Mm. when we heard her speak in japanese we were also stunned, we didn't expect such a fluent japanese from her"

Kei nodded "so how are you and young miss?"

"we're alright."

Kei nodded.

"Nee-san!! HUHUHUHU" as soon as the door opened a girl cried as she pounced at Rui-sensei

Rui-sensei hugged her back then she patted on her shoulder "stopped crying and let us go in first it's not safe here" she pointed at back

the girl looked at where she pointed and she saw zombies coming at them as they growled, she saw a very familiar face who's facing a very pale being she thrust the wooden sword stabbing in between of the eyebrows. She pulled her weapon out, blood flowed through the hole then the pale being fell down on the floor with a thud.

her eyes widened she didn't know such situation already happened while she's cutting class she shouted "Is that real zombies?!"

Rui-sensei answered "shhh! yes it's the real zombies. let us go inside first"

the group quickly went inside, Hiori the last one to enter the room she closed the door quickly a thudding sound followed as the zombies hit the door.

Hiori leaned on the door then she slowly slid down, already sitting on the floor.

all of them took a deep breath then they sat down. Their legs still shaking, from fear and exhaustion.

Rui-sensei then said to her little sister "Inoue listen to me carefully, outside are zombies roaming around. We will stay here inside until help comes and rescue us from this place"

Inoue listened quietly, she nodded then she asked "Nee-san, why are they zombies outside?"

"I don't know" Rui shook her head as she answered.
