Chapter 3: Life in chains

'I was out looking for a new slave for the fighting pits, my latest fighter went against the champion which was unlucky he only had a few fights before the slaughter that was his last match,
'Anyway I was out with my newest wife a beauty with Valyrian silver hair and violet eyes and I had two unsullied escorting us to the market.'
We were walking by with none of them looking especially eye catching until I walked by a boy who couldn't be over 8 name days with wolf at side. I called his master over.
"Tell me about the boy with the wolf"
"Well we got him in Westeros just over three months ago, he and his wolf was able to kill one of my men with just a small knife imagine what he could do with some training and proper weapons." The sleazy looking slaver answer made me even more curious about the boy
"Right then what's the price going to be" I asked the only truly important question.
"200 gold dragons for the boy and his wolf" The boys master replied with a greedy look on his face.
I almost refused him because of his outrageous price but he had caught my interest so I agreed to pay it, I would have to get someone to train him.

I've met my new master a great whale of a man with a greedy look in his eyes that doesn't seem to ever leave.
He also introduced me to the man who would be training me Theo Storms a bastard from the Stormlands who made his way to Essos and joined the golden company eventually making a name for himself and retiring at forty. He's now nearly fifty and teaches slaves how to fight better in the fighting pits and my new master has payed him a lot of money to make me good enough to fight in the pits and win.

'I've been training that boy for only two months and he's taken to any weapon I've put in front of him. The boy fights like the rest of us breath it's instinct to him.
For the first week of his training I tried many different weapons for him to use and eventually and at the end of the week I began training him in a few chosen weapons that the boy was especially good with. Of course the weapons had to be resized so they could be used properly as while he was big for a six name day child he still couldn't use the weapons made for full grown adults.
The first weapon I trained him in was a short spear of course he wielded it as if it was a regular spear I also gave him a small wooden shield that was strapped to his forearm so it wouldn't limit his mobility. The next weapon he was trained in was the scimitar it was lighter than a longsword but longer than a short sword so he kept it the same size but the boy has to carry it on his back and wield it with two hands like a great sword. The last weapon I trained him in was the talon a weapon used by the people of Yi Ti it can be used as a short sword or a throwing knife.
With the wolf at the boys side he believes he could win in the fighting pits and I told Master Enzo as much so the boy should be fighting soon enough. Once he begins to get experience in real fights the boy will start racking up kills in the pits I just know it.
