Chapter 26: Astar’s Return

Simon used all four of his limbs to try and create some distance between Brett and himself. He had a fearful expression on his face as he looked up at the furious Brett.

"Wait! Wait! Let's talk this out like human beings!" Simon tried to talk it out with Brett, but to no avail. Brett was still slowly walking over to him with light but menacing steps.

"I've been trying to teach you something but all you've been doing is fucking around. You don't learn, no, you don't want to learn. I can't trust you and I don't think you will ever be able to keep Ambrose safe with your foolish personality. So I might as well just eliminate you right here, right now." Brett said slowly. Simon knew that he wasn't bluffing one bit. The way Brett casually talked about taking his life made Simon realize that he was dead serious.

"SHIT!" Simon yelled as he decided to run. He turned into a blur and tried to escape towards the Pack House. He only ran about 20 feet before he felt something grab his leg. Before he could react, his vision flipped and he felt like gravity was working against him.

BANG!

Brett slammed Simon to the ground, causing Simon's ribs to crack slightly.

"URGHHHH! MOTHERFUCKER!" Simon yelled angrily as he felt the pain from his injuries. Unconsciously, his eyes glowed light green for a few seconds.

Brett was slightly stunned after seeing Simon activate his Werewolf eyes for the first time.

Seeing Brett pause for a moment, Simon did not give up his chance. He kicked Brett as hard as he could, which sent him flying. Without looking back, Simon restarted his escape towards the mansion.

Brett quickly jumped back up to his feet and chased after Simon, as the kick didn't effect him much.

He quickly caught up and tackled Simon to the ground. They tumbled down a small hill and became tangled together. They soon hit a tree, sending them flying in opposite directions.

BANG!

At this point, Brett was done playing around. He used his partial transformation on his limbs and charged with an unstoppable force towards Simon.

Simon, who could barely keep up with Brett's increased speed, braced for the impact with his eyes closed and cold sweat covering his body.

One second.

Two seconds.

Simon soon realized that the impact never came as he slowly opened his eyes. What he saw shocked him to the core. A man with black hair and silver eyes held Brett's head with just one hand, stopping him completely in his tracks. The man had a relaxed posture and a nonchalant look on his face.

"Children shouldn't fight in front of their elders, shall I teach you respect?" The man said in a playful voice.

Brett, who was unable to move at all, felt his instincts screaming at him to run away.

"RAAHHHH!" Brett lashed out with his claws and struck at the man's chest.

CLANK!

Brett was relieved when he felt his claws make contact, but soon that relief turned to horror. He saw that his claws indeed hit something, but instead of ripping through the man's chest like he envisioned, they were not even able to pierce the skin.

"Oh? You're pretty strong for a pup, but you need to work on respecting your elders!" The man said as he changed his grip on Brett's head, now grabbing his face. He threw Brett to his right and sent him flying through a few trees like a rocket.

COUGH!

COUGH!

Brett wheezed as he got up slowly from the ground and roared at the man, "W-Who the h-hell are you?!"

"Hmm? The boy didn't tell you about me? You should probably have some guesses already." The man said.

"Y-You are Astar?!" Brett asked with uncertainty in his voice. Although Brett had heard a lot about Astar from Ambrose, he had never delved too much into the man's actual strength.

Just from being thrown, Brett could easily tell that the man had barely used any strength. Just a little more and he would have been killed on impact.

"No, I'm Jesus… Yes I'm Astar!" Astar said in a playful voice.

"…"

There was only silence after Astar's 'joke'.

'Ambrose was right, this old man thinks that he's funny.' Brett thought to himself as he had a blank look on his face.

Seeing nobody laugh at his joke, Astar snorted, "Hmph! Children don't have a sense of humor." He didn't waste anymore time with them and started walking towards the mansion, more specifically towards Ambrose.

Simon and Brett looked at each other with dangerous eyes before putting their differences aside for now and quickly followed after the 'elder'.

Simon had a lot of questions but he decided to wait until they met Ambrose.

Soon they made it to the back door, which was locked. Astar felt impatient so he raised his foot to smash the door in, but Brett quickly stopped him, "WAIT! I HAVE A KEY! I HAVE A KEY!" Brett yelled nervously upon thinking about how pissed off Ambrose would be when he saw the brand new Pack House damaged.

Astar raised an eyebrow, "Hmm? Open the door quickly, child. I want to see my beloved student."

Brett complied and quickly opened the door.

***************************************************

Ambrose, who was relaxing upstairs on his bed, along with the pup, had already noticed the presence of Astar and his two subordinates.

He made his way downstairs while mentally preparing himself for the antics of his teacher.

"Hahaha, boy! I see you've gotten a bit stronger!" Astar greeted him with a hearty laugh as he tried to pat his head.

Ambrose angrily smacked his hand away as he said, "Hey! Old man! You can't pat my head, I'm an Alpha! An Alpha!"

"HAHAHA! You may be an Alpha, but to me you're still a baby." Astar said in a joking matter.

What he said was the truth, after all. Even though Ambrose was an Alpha just like him, the chasm of strength put them on completely different levels.

"Haaaa. Old man there are some things we need to talk about in private. Come with me." Ambrose said in a serious voice.
