Chapter 17: Sowing Discord
Li An was at home with Li Ran's father who is also her uncle, Li Zhengguo. The both of them were having dinner.
Li Zhengguo seemed to have something on his mind.
"Uncle...is there something on your mind? You look distracted. Is there a problem with the company?" Li An asked.
Even though she wanted to become an actress, Li An was still very interested in the things that happened in the company.
From the day she started living as Li An, the niece of Li Zhengguo, she had already taken herself as the Heiress of the Li Enterprise. That idoit Li Ran will never be able to fight ãgainst her!
"No Li An, there isn't anything wrong with the company." Li Zhengguo said. Even though the company is a medium sized company and its not as big as the Lu Group, at least it as a company that has many years of history.
As long as it's managed well, nothing will happen to it at all!
"Then what is it uncle?" Li An asked. She has always been good at pleasing elders. When she first moved here and started to live as the second young Miss of the Li Family, everyone looked down on her.
They said that her mother is just a shameless illegitimate child who ran away from home. The Li family gave her everything that she could ever dream of but she still stabbed them in the back and ran off with a man.
When she could no longer bear the difficulties outside, she came back home and dumped her daughter with the Li family, going off to live a shameless life! Even right now, no one knows where she is!
For a long time, Li An had to bear the brunt of the shameless things that her mother did! All the people in the high society mocked her for thinking that she can pose as a daughter of the Li Family.
She had to work hard, currying favour with everyone that she met everywhere just so that she could be accepted into the circle.
It was a good thing for her that Li Ran was such an idoit and so she could use her as her spring board. She could use Li Ran to show everyone else how good she is!
That was why she was so surprised when Lu Sichen asked to marry a daughter of the Li Family and chose that idioit Li Ran instead! Since he wants to marry a daughter of the Li family should he not choose her? Why did he have to choose that stupid woman Li Ran.
Li An was brought back to the present when her uncle started talking again.
"Sigh, it would be good if Li Ran was as sensible as you. All that she knows how to do is cause problems for me!" Li Zhengguo said. He finally got his daughter married to someone that will treat her well, and yet he can't stop worrying about her!
"Uncle, did Li Ran do something again?" Li An asked. Thinking about how Li Ran declared that she is going to live well with Lu Sichen from now on, Li An felt her heart pounding hard against her chest. She just did not know what came over Li Ran that made her change over night!
Didn't she use to love Lu Beichen a lot?! So much so that she was ready to give up everything and go against everyone for his sake?
Why did her feelings change so suddenly?
She and Lu Beichen already had everything planned out. They would use Li Ran's relationship with Lu Sichen to take away everything that Lu Sichen has.
Li An did not believe that this plan would work though. She had already made other plans for herself. At most, she will just seduce Lu Sichen.
Li Ran hates him anyway! But everything changed over night!
"I can't stop worrying about Ran Ran, Li An! She is already married yet I can't stop worrying! She already has Lu Sichen, I just really hope that she will live a good life with him! I don't have much hopes for that daughter of mine! I just want her to live well!" Li Zhengguo said.
Li An frowned. She will never tell her uncle that Li Ran already said that she doesn't want to have anything to do with Lu Beichen again and she wants to live well with Lu Sichen.
If she does that, her uncle will start to think that Li Ran is finally becoming sensible. She will no longer have any use to him!
Li An knows very well, that her existence only stands to serve as a contrast to Li Ran!
"Uncle, I think that we should just give sister Ran Ran some time. She used to love Lu Beichen so much, and then she was suddenly told that she is getting married to Lu Sichen. I'm sure that she's not used to it. Once she gets used to the fact that she is already married, everything will be fine!" Li An said.
"Lu Beichen?! What good is that person Lu Beichen! Everyone in the circle knows they he is just a useless second generation heir! He is someone with great ambitions and yet he doesn't have the ability ! What kind of life can she possibly have with someone like Lu Beichen?!" Li Zhengguo asked. He was really angry now.
He had always opposed to the relationship with Lu Beichen. That's why when Lu Sichen showed interest in Li Ran, he got the both of them married off as soon as possible.
He always felt that Lu Beichen is a scheming man. He is someone who has a lot of ambitions and yet he doesn't have the ability to do anything right! Someone like that will only resort to unscrupulous means! How can his daughter love someone like that?!
Li An smirked secretly when she saw how angry Li Zhengguo was. She had mentioned Lu Beichen for s reason.
She knows that her uncle doesn't have a good impression of Lu Beichen.
Mentioning Li Ran's past relationship with Lu Beichen, she was just trying to sow discord between the father and daughter!
