Chapter 25: Dinner (1)
The next day, Lu Sichen and Li Ran showed up at the Li family's mansion on time for dinner.
When they entered the house, they were greeted by the housekeeper anytime. Li Ran smiled happily when she Auntie Wang, the housekeeper of the Li Family.
Auntie Wang has been working for the Li Family for as long as she could remember. She had always been in the Li Family home, even before Li Ran was born.
Auntie Wang had assisted her dad in bringing her up, in fact, Auntie Wang played a mother figure role in her life.
But in her past life, after becoming a tool for Li An and Lu Beichen, she drifted away from Auntie Wang.
No matter how many times Auntie Wang tried to tell her that her so called cousin isn't a good person, Li Ran just thought that she was trying to sow discord between them.
"Young Miss Mr Lu, welcome! The chairman is waiting for you inside!" Auntie Wang said happily when she saw Li Ran and Lu Sichen. She had watched Li Ran grow up and in her heart, she was like a daughter to her. She just wanted her to live well.
Seeing how her relationship with he husband seems to be good enough right now, Auntie Wang was naturally happy
"Auntie Wang, how have you been?" Li Ran greeted cheerfully.
Auntie Wang was stunned. She wasn't expecting Li Ran to greet her so cheerfully. For some time now, the relationship that she had with this girl that she had watched grow up had deteriorated because of that scheming woman living inside the Li family.
She was already used to Li Ran being rude and arrogant to her. She was surprised to see Li Ran back to her old self.
"I've been fine young Miss!" Auntie Wang said. She was of course happy to see this change.
Chairman Li kept talking about how Li Ran seems to have changed over night. It seems that it is true. Li Ran has changed!
She had her hands wrapped around Mr. Lu right now. In the past, she did not evns want to see him!
Li Ran and Lu Sichen walked into the house.
When they walked into the living room, Li Zhengguo was sitting on the couch and Li An was sitting next to him.
Li An's eyes instantly lit up when she saw the man who walked in with Li Ran. However, it darkened almost immediately when she saw that he had his arms linked around Li Ran.
Li An tried hard to supress the fury that was growing inside her heart! What right does Li Ran have to be married to such a person?
How can someone as stupid as Li Ran have such good luck? She should be the one standing next to him right now! She should be the one linking arms with him right now!
Li Ran took away everything that is hers!
The malicious glint in Li An's eyes did not miss Li Ran's attention even though Li An had her innocent and sweet smile plastered on her face right now.
Li Ran smiled back at her provocatively. It wasn't as if she did not see the way Li An was looking at her husband.
Having been reborn, she is no longer as foolish as she was before and she won't ignore the red flags in a person. Even though Li An is currently buttering up to Lu Beichen, Li Ran knew that this cousin of hers is someone who has big ambitions!
Someone like Lu Beichen can only serve as springboard to her! Her ultimate goal must be Lu Sichen! The head of the Lu family!
"Dad! How have you been?" Li Ran called out sweetly. Li An wants to act the role of a filal daughter right? Sure! She will take her on an acting spree!
Li Zhengguo looked up at his daughter and smiled. He was really surprised…and happy.
Li An looked at Li Ran. What the hell is wrong with this idoit? Why did she change so much?
"Dad, we haven't come to see you since we got married. I'm sorry. I've been busy" Lu Sichen said.
Li Zhengguo was stunned when he heard Lu Sichen call him dad. Even though his daughter was already married to him, hearing this man who could command the wind and rain in the business world call him father made him stop for a second.
In the end, he let out a stiff smile. His daughter was already married to him. He has to learn to get used to this.
Li Ran pullled Lu Sichen to sit on the other side of the couch.
"Dad, we came in a hurry and I could not prepare anything. Please accept this" Lu Sichen said.
He handed Li Zhengguo a painting that was still wrapped up.
Li Zhengguo has always been obsessed with painting and calligraphy. He looked at his son in law with a gratifying smile. It seems that this son in law of his has done his homework really well.
Li An bit her lips as she watched Li Ran sit on the other side of the couch, far away from her with Lu Sichen. She kept feeling like she has done this on purpose. But Li Ran currently had an innocent smile on her face, like she had no idea that she was currently alienating her right now.
Li An realized that she could no longer read Li Ran's mind. She could no longer tell where she was thinking. Li Ran used to be someone who wore her feelings on her sleeves. But right now, she can't tell.whars going on in her head.
Coupled with that sweet and innocent smile on her face, Li An felt like she was the one who was thinking too much. She felt like Li Ran was doing this on purpose, but she also felt like she was thinking too much. She did not know what was true or not.
