Chapter 106: Chapter 106 New Team Formed?

Chapter 106 New Team Formed?

Stephen currently stands on the rooftop of a residential building.

In his line of sight, there's a person near the wall at the edge of the roof. They hold a telescope and peer into a room in the opposite residential building. It's not a room filled with elegantly dressed beauties or couples enjoying a good time. The person with the binoculars isn't a creepy pervert either but a woman.

She's a African-American woman with curly hair resembling instant noodles.

Her name is Shawna Baez. There's nothing particularly special about her background or identity, except that she was affected by the particle accelerator explosion and gained the ability to teleport. As long as she can see a destination, she can instantly move there.

In the original story, she used this ability to rescue her boyfriend from prison. However, during a confrontation in a tunnel, The Flash disabled all the lights, leaving her unable to see and preventing her from escaping.

With Multiplex's tactical skills, The Mist providing assistance, Girder acting as a defensive shield, and a teleporting girl capable of hit-and-run attacks, this group would be formidable in an all-around battle.

"Huh." Shawna Baez let out a sigh of relief and lowered the telescope to readjust herself, but out of the corner of her eye, she noticed others on the roof...

This discovery startled Shawna Baez, and she immediately turned and shouted, "Who are you? Get out of here!"

Stephen chuckled and replied, "I'm just but a simple man, here to ask you to do something for me."

"Do something for you? Who do you think you are? Do I know you?" Shawna Baez snorted coldly. "If you leave right now, you're not gonna get hurt."

As she spoke, Shawna Baez drew her gun from her waist and aimed it at Stephen.

"It seems that everyone likes to resort to violence to solve problems. Very well," Stephen said with a smirk. In an instant, red lightning crackled around him.

Shawna Baez felt a moment of unease and quickly turned her gaze to the distant rooftop, preparing to teleport there.

But before she could use her ability, she felt a sudden blow to her neck, causing her to faint right before her eyes.

"Why bother? You can only teleport when you see it, but my speed is faster than what you 'see'!" Stephen bent down, lifted Shawna Baez, and the red lightning flickered.

Stephen took Shawna Baez to his hideout.

Though smaller in size than the Wave Rider, the hideout, called the Disciple, had all the necessary facilities. It even had a well-equipped prison section. After all, the hideout or the ship originally belonged to a bounty hunter, who would encounter various targets throughout time, necessitating secure prison cells.

Stephen casually tossed Shawna Baez onto the ground and glanced at the three Meta-Humans locked up in individual cells: Multiplex, The Mist, and Girder.

Multiplex remained relatively calm, while The Mist transformed into a green mist and continuously struck the cell. Girder, on the other hand, displayed a volatile temperament, aggressively pounding the cell like a maniac.

"Shhh, be quiet, don't disturb this lady's rest," Stephen gestured for silence, pointing at Shawna Baez, who lay unconscious on the ground. "I know what you want to say, what questions you have. Be patient, and I'll explain everything when she wakes up."

Within a few minutes, Shawna Baez emitted a snort and regained consciousness.

Opening her eyes and taking in the unfamiliar environment, Shawna Baez observed the three individuals in the cells and Stephen, who stood in front of them with a smile. Cautiously, she stepped back and maintained a vigilant stare, refraining from using her ability to escape.

She couldn't escape even if she wanted to. The enclosure was completely sealed, offering no view of the outside.

"Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Stephen. I am well acquainted with each of you. I know how you acquired your abilities, the specific abilities you possess, and your respective desires," Stephen slowly smiled. "Now, let me summarize why you are here. I'm requesting your assistance in dealing with someone."

"Why should we help you?" shouted the man known as The Mist.

"Because you are still alive at this moment! If you fight, you're no match for me. If you run, you're not as fast as I am. Moreover, all of you have obtained abilities. Shouldn't you be tired of hiding like mourning dogs?" Stephen explained with a smile. "What I'm asking you to do aligns with your original intentions. You want to avenge your wife by killing the CEO of the company. You desire to eliminate the boss of the criminal family, along with the judge and the police who arrested you. And as for you..."

Stephen looked at Multiplex, The Mist, and then shifted his gaze to Girder. "Don't you yearn for others to fear your abilities and allow you to do as you please?"

Girder nodded unconsciously.

"Miss Shawna Baez, don't you want to save your boyfriend from prison?" Stephen turned his attention to Shawna Baez once again.

"What do you mean?" Shawna Baez asked suspiciously.

"It's quite simple. I've gathered all of you, who were pursuing your own agendas, and formed a team to accomplish what you individually wanted. Whether you pursue your objectives separately or as a team doesn't matter!" Stephen explained.

"What's in it for you?" asked Multiplex.

"Have you heard of The Flash?" Stephen smiled as he inquired.

Multiplex, The Mist, and the teleporting girl shook their heads, but Girder responded with a hint of disdain. "Isn't he the guy from the internet who saves people everywhere? I thought that was you!"

"His speed doesn't match mine!" Stephen grinned. "Although he is the go-to superhero when trouble arises, I anticipate he'll appear wherever you are causing a scene."

"If you're faster than him, why don't you handle it yourself?" The Mist man inquired once more.

"Do I need to explain myself to you?" Stephen casually smiled and opened their cell. "You can decide how to proceed, but tomorrow at noon, I expect to see you encounter The Flash. If any one of you fails to entertain me, they will never experience amusement again."

With a flash of red lightning, the four of them found themselves standing in an alley in the city before they could react.

They exchanged glances, uncertainty filling the air.

After a prolonged silence, Multiplex spoke up. "I don't see any harm in it. Four people can achieve the goal more easily than one, especially if The Flash might intervene. We might as well get to know each other and discuss our course of action."

After a moment of consideration, the others nodded in agreement.

"And there's one more person, but we can set them aside for now and wait until the performance is over tomorrow," Stephen, who had sent the four away, returned to the villa and gestured to Laurie.
