Chapter 2: Chapter 2: The Fortunes.
The alarm clock rang, waking up the girls and letting them groan in frustration. "Wyłącz ten cholerny zegar!" screamed Anna as she scramble out of the bed. ( Turn that god damn clock off! ) " Girls breakfast is ready so after you guys are all cleaned up you can come and eat. Oh and your uber will be here in forty-five minutes," said Mrs. Santos. Aleksandra got up and went to the bathroom. "Girls! The twins are gonna be bathing together, Sara is gonna use my brother's bathroom since he ain't here and I'll use my bathroom." She yelled while brushing her teeth. "Okay!" Yelled the girls all at once.
Twenty minutes later the girls came from the bathrooms all clean and well dressed. "Nie nakładam makijażu." Said Ale while pulling her hair up in a messy bun. (I'm not putting on any makeup.) Sara giggled and said, "We all know that you are a dull old granny that is only into reading newspapers and knitting baby socks." "How funny Sara. I wear makeup, but I don't want to at the moment plus tomorrow you guys are going to turn me into a barbie and drag me out of the hotel." Said Aleksandra. Ella yawned and walked out with her suitcase. "We should go and see what Mrs. Santos had prepared for us to eat." said anna. "Or ordered since mom doesn't cook this early," muttered Ale. As they walked toward the kitchen the scent of Chinese food hit the girls' noses. Ale sighed and said "I told you, mom wasn't gonna cook at this time of the morning," "Look anna fortune cookies!" Yelled Sara excitedly to her twin sister. Ale laughed at her friend's childish behavior and sat down at the table. She took up a fortune cookie and broke it in half. Her face filled with horror as she read the piece of paper. " Co to jest, kochanie?" asked Mrs. Santos. (What is it, honey?) Aleksandra handed her mother the paper without saying a word. Mrs. Santos started to howl with laughter causing the girls to look at her as if she was going crazy. "Mom how is that fortune funny?" asked Ale pissed. Mrs. Santos wiped a tear from her eyes and said, "Baby these fortunes are fake. You won't be kidnapped." Sara started to laugh. Ale wasn't relieved even though her mom told her the fortune was fake.
The uber had finally arrived and Mrs. Santos was hugging the girls and telling them goodbyes and some rules they must follow while they were away. Ale was silent ever since she had read the paper. "Mom are you sure I should go? I have a feeling that I should stay here with you and papa," she said still feeling scared. Mrs. Santos reassuringly said " Nonsens! Jutro są twoje urodziny. Idź i baw się dobrze, chociaż raz." (Nonsense! Tomorrow is your birthday. Go and have fun, for once.) Ale turned to her uber and her friends who were planning for her birthday for months and muttered, " Cienki. Nic mi nie będzie. Żegnaj mamo i powiedz Tony'emu, żeby trzymał się z dala od mojego pokoju, kiedy mnie nie będzie." (Fine. I'll be fine. Goodbye, mom, and tell Tony to stay out of my room while I'm gone.) " Will do honey, and have fun." Aleksandra ran to the uber and took her seat. They set off for the airport which was thirty minutes away.
"Ale wake up we're here," said Ella. Aleksandra opened her eyes to see a busy airport. " When did I fall asleep?" she asked. Anna said, "About two minutes into the drive." Ale laughed and grabbed her suitcase that Anna had taken from the truck for her. The girls went to the check-in desk to drop off their bags and collect their boarding passes. "Good day. Can I see your passport please?" Asked a nice-looking girl at the desk. She checked the passports one by one as the girls moved in the direction of three men who were tagging the suitcases. After their suitcases were tagged they walked over to a few securities and went through the metal detector.
Finally, they were boarded and were sitting down peacefully, suddenly Ale heard a lady asking a man if he wanted her to read his fortune to him but he wasn't interested. The lady then walked up to her seat and said "Young lady. I see that you are troubled and you are trying to stay calm for your mom's sake. Your fortune from the fortune cookie will come true but you will soften the heart of a monster the minute he looks into your eyes. This cold-hearted man will open his heart to you and you will be his queen but be warned there will be betrayals coming to you from one of your friends and you will gain many enemies. You will be cold towards outsiders after this heartbreaking betrayal that you will face." Ale was so worried at this point that she was sweating like a nervous wreck. Aleksandra had zoned out for a little while. Snapping out of her trance she realized that the lady was gone and that they were in the air already. "Sara, have you seen a lady that was telling people their fortunes?" Ale asked worriedly as Sara was pasting by her seat. Sara said " Yea she got off the plane before we departed. Why are you asking?" Ale felt her heart crumbling as she worried about the lady's every word. "It's nothing. She just seemed cool." Ale said knowing that she wouldn't want to tell her friend that one of them would betray her. She just sat there silently.
