Chapter 9: 9: grandfather and Granddaughter talk?
i get up a little late today to see the time 5:30 am i usually get up at 4 but oh well i freshen up and start pushups and other exercises then at the end do a little warmup and stop myself just before i start dancing like seriously i don't know if i should keep dancing or not like i lovee dancing but it also reminds me of my mother and the happy times we used to spend together so i just do a little everyday just so i don't forget how to because I don't want to leave it behind too and then take a shower and now comes the troublesome part to choose clothes damnn
i see a while buttons shirt so i pick it and a black jeans and wear it then wring my hair with a towel and just put it in a messy bun then i pick my bag go down say a quick good morning and pick a toast and am about to go but stop when i hear my grandpa saying "sit down and eat properly"
i sit down and start eating while thinking
"i thought grandpa was mute" like seriously i haven't heard him speak a word to anyone since i came here like even my uncles who haven't talked to me but still i heard them speaking to each other or grandma but with grandpa nope its like a stone statue
don't get me wrong or something but he does give me that feeling
when I'm almost finished and about to go grandpa speaks again
"when you're done come to my study"
and after that he gets up and goes to his study and I'm left confused but still i pick my bag and follow him to the study
the moment i enter i see him sitting down on his seat once he sat down he pointed to the seat on the other end of table so i sit down
" tell me about your life before coming here"
he says and stares directly at me
i simply frown and ask "what do you want to know " i try to soften my tone but it doesn't so i say "grandpa " at the end to make it a little gentler
"i want to know how your mother's life was after going away , i want to know more about your dad , about ...you"
he says and i don't know why but i suddenly feel a little angry , I don't know which word hit me hard but i start speaking
" ooh , so you finally want to know about mom , dad and me after all these years where were you when i was born , where were you when mom died , where were you till now "
he sigh's and says " i was stubborn but more importantly your mother asked me not to interfere in her life , i wanted to come and see you when you were born , i wanted to take you with me once your mother died but i thought you might want to live with your dad more then us "
at the end i was sad that i laugh bitterly and say " you thought , all that mattered were your thought , did you even once asked me if i wanted to come with you or even visit you , you just assumed that i will choose my dad so you didn't even come infront of me like a coward "
after finishing i get up and try to go out but once my hand touched the door knob i hear him speaking
"i wanted to but your right i was a coward so I'm sorry"
" just be careful, everything is not what it seems like"
once he finishes i open the door and walk out the door and go out once i reach i bike and stop while Grandpa's word still echo in my mind " everything is not what it seems like"
what did he mean,
why am i getting more uneasy
i simply get on my bike and start heading toward school while my head keeps replaying grandpa's word
