Chapter 14: Awkward
As I was doing my workout I started wondering, according to the tier system I should be at 9C at this moment just with the physical strength. If fighting strength Is included I would be at 10 A. Yup, my skills might be that bad. It's just my estimation.
Just knowing how to fight doesn't make one a good fighter. If I want to rectify that I need to fight. But fighting can go both ways, so first I need a trainer or training partner. I know most of the people in Sakaar knows how to fight. I need someone to train me how to fight other than sparring.
I only know Komiko and Arora. From what I saw Arora can kickass atleast mine. Anyway, I don't think it's appropriate to ask her right now.
The only thing I can do is improve by myself and atleast completely master the basics and all the moves on my own. After that maybe I should ask Komiko about it. But if I keep asking them help and do nothing in return it would be awful. But I can be a bit shameless for survival, it doesn't matter. Surviving takes priority.
After finishing my daily routine, I practised the body control technique for a while. The body control technique is kinda like a mix between yoga and gymnastics but a lot tougher. After that I took a bath and got to work.
Yesterday I planned on brewing the "caster" but the plan got messed up. But today I'm going to start doing it.
First I went to the brewery and started the cleaning process. After that went for the sample collection for the wine that are sitting in their secondary fermentation. After the checks are made I went to the cold storage for checking any wine that needed to be bottled.
After the regular routine is done, I went to the inventory to collect the ingredients necessary for the brewing. The primary ingredient is a fruit called "geros" it's a fruit that is similar to taste in grapes and looks like an apple.
It took me 3 hours to collect the ingredients which was necessary for the brewing. Quality checks are done. I'm surprised by my speed. As soon as I held the fruit in hand I somehow knew whether it would be a right quality for the wine or not.
It's new to me and a novel experience. It was relaxing. Then took those fruits for washing and brought it to the crusher . Then the fruits are crushed to bring out the juice and are transferred to the primary fermenter. After adding the necessary amount of yeast and water to balance the sweetness the wine is left for its first fermentation.
According to my estimation it would take about 2 weeks for the mixture to reach appropriate fermentation.
It took me a whole day to complete these process. I took breaks for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I enjoyed the process of making this. It was relaxing making me forget I'm living in a world where someone snapping the fingers can cause the universe to go poof.
'Well that was fun until it lasted.' I was quiet happy and relaxed until I remembered where I am. I don't want to depressed, I just want to get stronger to not worry about these things.
Firstly, to improve myself I had to fight stronger opponents progressively. Exercising in gym alone is not enough. I need to practically go into 'plus ultra' mode to improve.
After getting used to the moves of Krav Maga and MMA moves I would go look for a training partner. Those things are for later. Now I'm going to get some rest.
The next day I did the usual, workout, practising techniques, going to brewery to finish my work. Then I found myself free time. I decided to roam the place around. It's been sometime I came here. I didn't go anywhere else other than bar, cafeteria, and my floor.
I don't think I'm allowed in those upper floors but just roaming around the ground floor might be a good idea. I went with it. After I finished with my duties I took the elevator and went to the ground floor.
I first went to bar to say hello to Komiko and Arora. I looked at the bar, it was strangely quiet. Well, not quiet it's just there were fewer people around. I looked at the bar and found komiko and Arora were doing their own things.
I approached them and talked to them,
"Hey guys, what are you doing?"
Then, hearing me komiko and Arora looked at me and greeted, well, Arora not so much.
"We are just relaxing to be honest. The work load is very low as you can see."
"Is this a special occasion or something?"
"Yeah, sort of, it seems there was big parts of spaceships parts of the Shi'ar empire, an advanced civilisation of the universe. Most of the members of the clan went to scavenge it. Even clan head Mordo went there personally."
"Is that so, if you are free can you give me a tour of this place, it's been a while since I came here but didn't have the time to look around."
Komiko looked at me playfully. 'Nope, she is going to do something that is going to make me regret ever asking this to her.'
"Justin, why don't you ask Arora here to take you to look around. I'm sure, she knows this place better than me."
'Goddamnit, what's wrong with her. Sigh no use. I think the prankster ROB cast a curse on me I think. To get stuck with a prankster. Is it something like prank or be pranked kinda thing. Somebody please help me.'
I got near Komiko and whispered, "hey, you do know that, it's kinda awkward between the two of us right now. Do you have to do this?"
She also came next to my ear and whispered, "I don't care."
"What?" Judging by her facial expression it seems to be a lost cause.
Then I hopefully looked at Arora, I wanted her to decline the idea so that I could avoid all the awkwardness that's going to happen if we did go together.
She looked at komiko and sighed. Then she stood up and cleaned up the place she was sitting. 'Oi, don't tell me that she is going accept this without any retaliation. Is this maturity speaking, I don't understand what's going on. But it seems that avoiding this scenario is a lost cause. Is there no way to avoid this?'
I gave up. I saw Arora walk towards me slowly, she looked at me and said,
"Come on, hurry up. I'll quickly show you around the building. I don't have all day."
'Wow, that was not good at all. Look at that, she can't be anymore unwelcoming.' 'Damn you Komiko. If I don't get my revenge.., no I'll get my revenge.'
I quickly gave up resisting. She walked out of the bar asking me to follow her.
*Arora Pov*
I was relaxing by watching combat video of the warriors that fight in the colosseum since today is somewhat free. I saw the people there fighting for their life with vigorously.
I suddenly hear a familiar voice call out,
"Hey guys, what are you doing?"
Oh no. I thought he was going to avoid us for sometime and we will forget about this incident ever happened. Well, he only heard about it but I'm the one who remembers every single thing. It's so embarrassing to look at him.
After looking at him all I remember were those eyes and lips. I know it's shameful to do that but I couldn't help it.
I then heard about him asking for a tour. I want to volunteer myself and go with him and at the same time I just want to avoid those awkward moments that are going to come. This is troublesome. I feel conflicted about the situation and him.
I know he was not for me. After what I have seen and done I don't think I can be with anyone. But I couldn't stop myself after seeing those eyes.
I looked at Komiko who just smiling there like a kid who is planning to play a joke. She just asked me to help him look around this place.
'Sigh, I don't know what to do anymore'. I just sighed and stood up from my seat. I gave up resisting, it's not going to work with komiko. I can see his reluctance to come with me, not that I would blame him but I was a little pissed.
'For now, I'm going to make him feel a little miserable.'
"Come on, hurry up. I'll quickly show you around the building. I don't have all day."
And then I went towards the outside of the bar.
*Mc pov*
We were walking toward the entrance of the bar, suddenly the alarms in the building started blaring. I looked confused and worried.
I looked toward Arora to find my answer but she already took out the sword she was having on her back.
"We are being attacked now."
Well that's one way to avoid the awkwardness.
