Chapter 18: Let's Visit "Island of Dead Dolls"

One week passed, and Jack did not go anywhere, he just stayed at home.

In the evening his mom asked him to join her and have some tea.

He was sitting with his mom silently when his phone rang, he did not even see who is calling.

"Jack! pick up your phone, dear", his mom said.

"My what?" he asked carelessly.

"You phone! It is ringing, where are you?" His mother asked.

"I am here, in front of you", he replied while looking at the phone.

"Yes, you are here physically not mentally!" his mom said anxiously.

"Mom please!" he stood up and was about to leave when the phone rang again.

"Who is calling you?" his mom asked.

"It's Andy. I do not want anyone to call me or text me I am just exhausted with this life I lost my interest in everything!" Jack said.

"Just pick up the call, please! For me" his mom said.

Jack picked up the call.

"What?" he asked irritably.

"Jack! there is something very serious to tell you!" Andy said.

"Say it!" Jack said with an absent mind.

"No not on call come to Kevin's house we all are there", Andy requested.

"I will never come! No matter what happens", he said rudely.

"Jack! it is something about Alizy!" Andy said.

"What? Wait for me I am coming" Jack said hurriedly and went towards the door to go outside, her mom smiled while looking at him and said, "Finally!"

Jack went to Kevin's place.

"Hey, angry man!" Kevin said.

Jack looked around, and saw Andy and Stella were there as well, but wait there was someone else too, Jack had seen her before and tried to think but was unable to recognize who she might be.

"Met her, she is Jennifer", Andy said.

"What is it to me?" Jack asked carelessly and asked, "What about Alizy? Why did you call me?"

"Well, I went to Alizy's place to meet her mother, but they shift from there and Jennifer now lives at Alizy's home.

"So?" Jack asked carelessly.

"So, she got no friends, she will be part of our group from now on!" Kevin said.

"Why you called me?" Jack shouted, "To tell me this rubbish thing!" Jack said while looking at Jennifer.

"Jack mind your language! Do think before saying anything like this", Stella said.

"Oh, you! Just shut your mouth! Just do care about Kevin that will be enough for you, there is no need to talk to me! Did you get me or not?" Jack kept on shouting.

"Jack!" Kevin called his name.

"We have planned a trip and you are joining us!" Kevin said while controlling his anger.

"I will not!" Jack said and left.

"Now what?" Andy asked.

"I cannot see Jack in this condition, I want him to join us, it is necessary!" Kevin said while thinking about something else.

"I think we should go to his home and we will try to convince him", Andy said.

"Why he is so rude? Is it part of his nature?" Jennifer asked.

"No, this is not our Jack, he used to be a cool person", Andy replied.

"Used to be? But what changed him?" Jennifer asked.

"We just lost a friend, Jack was closed to her, he is unable to overcome that pain", Andy said.

"Yes, there is a pain in his eyes", Jennifer said.

It was 10 pm. Jack was laying in his bed when his mother informed him that he has visitors.

And soon Andy, Stella, and Kevin entered his room.

"Why? Why you guys are here? Can't I spend some 'my' time?" Jack said sadly.

"You have spent a lot of 'my' time already, now it is up! you need to come with us!" Andy ordered.

"But…" Jack was about to say something when he was interrupted by Kevin.

"No more 'buts' you are coming with us that is it!"

Jack looked at Stella who seemed sad.

"I am sorry Stella, I did not intend to hurt you, I don't know what happened with me, I just don't know, I am sorry", Jack said sadly.

"It is fine, Stella did not mind", Kevin said hurriedly. Stella looked at him with confusion.

"Okay then, where we will go?" Andy asked.

"As Jack is an adventurous person, so I have a place to visit, it's called 'Island of Dead Dolls'.

"Sounds interesting, where is this situated?" Andy asked curiously.

"In Mexico City! In the heart of Xochimilco's canal", Kevin replied.

"Why the name is so creepy?" Jennifer asked.

"Because this Island has a thrilling untold history". Kevin replied.

"What's that I am being curious". Jennifer asked again.

"At that Island, a little girl was playing with her doll, she drowned after being trapped in the canal's reeds, and her body was later discovered on the Santampa Chinampas' banks. Santana (a man nearby) reported that he heard the girl's moaning sounds and scream, "I want my doll," and in a fit of fright, he hanged the doll he discovered close to the girl's body". Jack replied while looking down.

"Whoa! Such a piece of great information I would love to be there!" Jennifer replied.

"Jack, why do you have such information?" Andy asked. Jack tried to talk but was unable to do so as he kept his gaze fixed on the ground.

"Jack! Are you alright?" Andy asked anxiously. In an attempt to control his emotions, Jack, who was becoming tearful, continued, "I know about this Island since Alizy always wanted to visit this specific area. We searched all the places surrounding the Island, the history, the route we would get there, all was planned, however…" he stopped.

"Done! We will travel there in Alizy's memory, so Jack, don't be sad; you may bring Alizy with you!" Kevin said cunningly.

"How", Jack asked in a gloomy voice.

"Alizy's doll was acquired by you, right? So just bring that doll with you, so that you may not feel the absence of Alizy", Kevin said.

"Alizy is no more! You're fully aware of this fact, right? Why do you want your friend to think about her instead of helping him stop doing so? Just take a glance at how sad your friend is! His condition is getting worst due to the memories of Alizy! Are you unable to, see? Or ignoring it intentionally!" Jennifer asked Kevin.

"Who authorized you to say Alizy's name? Stop talking; you don't know anything!! And yes, keep your sympathy to yourself! Do not try to interfere in any of my matters again!" Jack replied angrily.

"That's my boy", Kevin whispered.

"Jack! it is too much now!" Andy tried to calm him.
