Wang Xiaomei did not suspect anything and even nodded her head.

"The woodshed at home is empty. Aunt Song was just saying that you can send some more firewood for them to stock up."

Wang Dashan smiled.

"Hehe! Yes, that's right."

Wang Xiaomei looked at her big brother and took a step forward.

Then, she grabbed Wang Dashan's hand and shoved something from her hand into his hand.

Realizing what his sister was holding in her hand, Wang Dashan quickly pushed Wang Xiaomei away and took a step back.

Then, he asked in an annoyed tone, "What are you doing?" 

Seeing Wang Xiaomei holding a stack of copper coins without saying anything, Wang Dashan continued, "You should save your own money."

"But…" 

"I'm selling firewood now. I have some income every day. I won't go hungry," Wang Dashan continued.

Wang Dashan's heart softened when he saw Wang Xiaomei looking at him with a face full of heartache.
