Chapter 2: AAAAAAH A GHOST!!!
(WOW) That was the only thing going through Drax's head. In front of him was an honest to goodness goddess and to top it all off SHE WAS BEAUTIFUL!!! "Well" she started to say as Drax was brought out of his dazed stupor, "It appears that we've got a problem, you seem to have died 38 years before you were supposed to." "What do you mean?" Drax asked. "Well you see, a few days ago I decided to go on a 3-day vacation to earth and by a small miscalculation on my part, I kind of got into a drinking competition.
Obviously, I won, but not before becoming absolutely drunk and then changing into my animal form after walking out of the bar. Thankfully, no one saw me turning into a fox. Anyway, as I was drunk, I couldn't exactly think streight and just kept walking forward. Eventually, I came across a highway and then got saved by you. And that's where the problem is, you weren't supposed to die there, you were supposed to die while saving an old woman from a common thief in fifteen years".
The goddess went silent as she let Drax process this. "So I did die," Drax said in a low voice. Drax's heart hurt as he wondered what his mother must be feeling right about now. Her son just left for school only to die, and now she's probably blaming herself, thinking that it was somehow her fault.
Tears started to fall from Drax's face as the thought of having just left my mother alone crossed his mind. Looking up at the goddess with tears in his eyes, Drax asked "Can you send me back."? "Unfortunately" the goddess answered, "I can not, not only is it because your body was actually ripped in two from being hit by the diesel but also because it's unfortunately restricted to allow a mortal to return to the same plane in which they existed after death. However, I can give you the choice to reincarnate, saying how this is mostly my fault. Unfortunately, this is about all I can offer."
Thinking about it for a moment, Drax decided to accept. Most people probably don't even get the chance to be reincarnated plus no one has probably ever saved a goddess before. Well, at least, no one from earth. "So do you accept, oh, and of course, if you do choose to reincarnate, as a bonus I will make sure you reincarnate with all of your memories plus two very special gifts." The goddess looked at Drax while she waited for his answer. Even though Drax already made his decision to accept, it didn't mean that he was able to outright say it out loud.
I mean, like come on, he just died. So, instead, Drax did the next best thing. He gave the goddess a small sad smile, which she smiled back. "Well then," said the goddess, "I can tell that you have made your choice. One last thing before you're reincarnated, you don't have to worry about your mother.
I have just set up a set of sequences that will eventually lead your mother to be a billionaire, so she will be very well taken care of. Now you might feel a sensation of something trying to pull you away, so do your best to not resist. And do remember, I will be watching you." As a cold sensation swept throughout every part of his body and soul, Drax felt as if something had started to try and pull him to some far away place. Not fighting this feeling, Drax's consciousness faded as his body was sent off to the place of his new life...
Shivering slightly at the cold, Drax opened his eyes as he started moving his paw trying to pull his nonexistent covers around himself. (Wait..... I got a paw?) Opening up his eyes all the way, it would indeed seem that his hand was now a paw. Which could only mean one thing, IT WAS ALL REAL!!! The truck, him dying, meeting the goddess, it was all REAL. Suddenly, a question popped into his head. (Wait, why do I have a paw and not a hand, am I not human anymore?)
Raising himself up off the ground, Drax steadied himself as he tried to get used to his new body. Swerving his head to the right so that he could look at his new form, Drax's eyes widened in surprise. If his eyes didn't deceive him, then it would seem that Drax was now a light gray fox. But that wasn't what surprised him, he was already expecting to be some kind of quadruped, saying as to how he could feel that he was now on all fours. But what he wasn't expecting was that he was going to be see-through, well, see through for the most part.
His general shape was that of a fox, but it would seem that he was actually made of some type of dark gray mist that was constantly moving. Not to mention the two tails flowing behind him that were constantly swerving as if being blown by the wind. Although some people would probably be creeped out if they suddenly found themselves reincarnated as a weird kind of see-through fox, but not Drax, nope. On the inside, he was bouncing for joy. In school, Drax had a special nickname, Fox Obsessed lunatic.
He was entirely obsessed with foxes, so much so that he had multiple psychiatrists come over to the school to talk to him. Obviously, he was fine, and they determined that he was just someone with a little over normal giant fox obsession. And now that he was a real-life fox, albeit a see-through one, it was still a dream come true. So with a joyful heart and a hearty fox laugh, Drax jumped into the air as he started on his first mission in this new world. It was time to go to a nice, good place and start making his burrow. Or at least that's what he would have done if not for a sudden ringing in his head followed by a robotic voice.
