Chapter 20: Disastrous taste
Feeling his eyes flutter, Drax instinctively knew that he was about to wake up. As his mind got closer to consciousness, memories of what had happened started to enter into his mind. (Oh yeah, I was fighting the snake when Gale unleashed her attack on it and killed it. But then what happened, everything's so fuzzy.) Searching through his memories, Drax couldn't find any more details on the matter, or so he thought.
(Oh wait, that's right, I remember hearing the ding of a notification before everything went black. Maybe that can tell me what happened. Better check that out. System, open the notifications tab of my status and show me my most recent notifications.)

(Huh, so that's what happened.) Giving a mental sigh, Drax started to wonder when he was going to be able to move again. He had long since realized that he had woken up, but something seemed to be restraining his movements. Focusing his attention on his arms and legs, Drax found that he could barely wiggle them, but wasn't able to do anything more than that. Moreover, it would seem that he was still partially injured if the pain he felt coming from.gis left arm as well as both of his tails was anything to go on.
On the plus side, it would seem that his necklace was back around my neck, so he didn't have to worry about it being lost. Focusing on his eyes, Drax barely got them to flutter before the sound of a twig breaking caught his attention. Forcing his ears to turn towards the sound's direction, Drax waited as he tried to figure out what had made the sound.. Hearing the familiar scuttling sound of Gale's feet, Drax's tense body visibly relaxed. Hearing a sound familar to that of water sloshing around in a glass cup, Drax focused his ears harder before realizing that Gale was carrying something in one of her vines.
Feeling his lips go dry at the prospect of cool, refreshing water, Drax slightly opened up his mouth as he waited for the refreshing goodness. Waiting for the water, Drax momentarily forgot to ask myself why he was tied up or why Gale was quietly giggling. This, of course, was his downfall as he had momentarily forgot one thing about Gale… SHE WAS A PRANKSTER!!! Drax's eyes shot wide open as a horrendous taste flowed into his mouth.
Gagging as the liquid flowed down his throat, Drax started to spit as much of the liquid out as he could. Screaming in defiance as he struggled against whatever was holding him down, Drax shook his head left and right as he did his best to avoid the glowing purple bottle that now hovered In front of him. "Stop struggling, it's for your own good." Hearing Gale's voice come from beside himself, Drax momentarily paused his squirming as he turned to look at Gale, giving her his best glare. Which was returned with a sweet smile.
"Now open wide" Struggling even harder against the vines that were holding him, Drax turned his head even fiercer as he tried to get out of the entanglement. Feeling pain all over his body, Drax only faintly realized that it was from his previous battle, as all his attention was currently on escaping from the vines that were entangling his body. Feeling the vines tighten around himself, Drac only had a moment to think (Oh crap) before the vines restricted his body and forcefully pried his mouth open. "He-he-he, well, bottoms up." Hearing Gale's evil laugh come from behind him, Drac could only wonder what he did to her before the disastrous liquid was forced down his throat.
"Gulp, Gulp, Gulp" drinking the liquid, tears ran down Drax's eyes as the horrible taste assaulted his taste buds. As the last of the liquid was emptied from the bottle, the vines restraining Drax's body finally loosened. Rolling over before jumping off the ground, Drax scrambled to find something, anything to get the taste out of his mouth. Looking over at a nearby tree, Drax hurriedly ran over to it before biting down on the bark. (Dang it, anything will do at this point as long as I am able to get this taste out of my mouth. ) Thought Drax as he fitfully prier the bark off of the tree and started to bite down on it.
Munching on the tree's bark, Drac sighed in relief as the horrible taste from the potion started to fade away. Looking over his body, Drax's eyes slightly widened as he noticed that his previous unhealed injuries were gone. Smacking hus lips at the still faint but horrible taste, Drax could only shake his head as he wished that Gale would have chosen a healing potion with a better flavor. Hearing laughing come from behind himself, Drax turned around to see Gale rolling across the ground as her vines held her stomach while golden globs of honey fell from her petals. (She's laughing so hard she's crying? Why that little minx!!!) Giving out a growl, Drax raised up his tails as he lowered the top half of his body.
Gale momentarily stopped her laughter as she turned to look at Drax. Seeing him slowly walk towards her with his shackles raised and tails swirling behind him, Gale quickly got up before yelling tauntingly, "Na na, you can't get me." Gale then blew a raspberry at Drax before she quickly turned around and started to run away as waves of laughter escaped from inside her petals. Quickly giving chase, Drax speedily ran after Gale while using the terrain to his advantage. Kicking his foot against one of the the surrounding trees, Drax used it's rough surface to up his speed while he used the force of his next few kicks to propel himself forward.
Quickly catching up to Gale, Drax bunched up his legs before pushing off the ground and propelling his body forward through the air. Gale let out an "oof" as Drax's body impacted her own. Instantly taking advantage of her momentary confusion, Drax pinned her against the ground before giving her a good bonk on the head. Quickly turning his body around, Drax started running in the direction he had just came from as he yelled while laughing "I got you, now you're it!!" Quickly propelling his body forward, Drax was about to take another leap before large vines coiled around his leg, forcing him to trip. Trying to get back up, Drax was unable to do so as more vines coiled around his bodt while keeping him trapped. "Hey that's cheating"
Yelling out at Gale, Drax struggled to get out of yet another one of her entanglements. Seeing Gale come into his line of sight, Drax was about to verbally reprehend her some more, but unfortunately, didn't have the chance.
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"
Hearing a loud scream, Gale and Drax were momentarily confused before what they had just heard processed into their minds. Gale and Drax looked at each other before Gale unraveled her vines and they both took off in the direction of the scream in a hurry.
