Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Forging One's Vengeance: Finding Peace

"Sakio!", "Sakio!", an unknown voice says. "What? Again?", says Sakio. He realizes he's in his house. He runs to see his family, who are outside the house, as they were before. He suddenly feels a pain in his gut, and he passes out. He wakes up on the battlefield, and he sees an arrow driven deep in his abdomen. He starts to stumble to the nearest river, to tend to his wounds. He covers up his wounds, and hunts for a boar to eat. He hears a rustling in the bushes, and pulls out his sword. He throws a nearby rock at the bush, and hears a grunt. He cuts the bushes to see a wounded enemy soldier, and steps back. He is contemplating on whether to kill him or not. As much as he would desire to avenge his fallen comrades, he just can't bring himself to do it. The soldier whispers, "K-kill me", whilst spitting out blood. The soldier was dying, but Sakio gets him to the river and patches him up. The soldier passes out. Sakio hunts and successfully kills a boar. He slowly falls asleep. He wakes up, and sees that its morning. He sees the soldier sitting up and cleaning his wounds. Sakio isn't sure whether he should trust the soldier or not. Sakio asks the soldier, "Who are you?". The soldier replies, "I'm lost". The soldier continues, "Before the war, I was a villager here. When I heard war was coming, I wanted to protect my family". "I put on my armor and tried protecting the village, but a cannonballs was shot at the village and it hit my house". The soldier starts to tear up.
