Chapter 6: TWENTY YEARS LATER

TWENTY YEARS LATER

"What exactly did you do to make those Crescent wolves adore you?" Cersei asked Aberdeen who was now called Rune. She was stitching the clothes he had on.

"I could tell that those people haven't had a genuine smile on their faces for a long time. It's the least I can do" Aberdeen confessed.

"Well, be careful Rune. Lucius is not going to take any of this likely"

"Then maybe he should start treating his people like his own and not like the Markarian's and the Arcturus's"

"You're in no position to speak like that Rune. Cut your coat according to your size. There you go" Cersei said when she was done stitching his clothes.

"Thank you mother" Aberdeen said as he left the house.

"Lyra, I wish you could see your boy now" Cersei said to herself smiling.

Aberdeen was white with long blonde hair. Whenever he passed by many werewolves especially the ladies would stare. He'd play with people's cubs as though he were their elder brother. Many people both old and young would call out his name just to greet him. He was practically famous.

"Who are you?" Crescentia asked Annora who was known as Zephyr. She sat on a chair while Annora stood up looking down at her.

"I am Zephyr, a Crescent warrior" Annora replied confidently.

"And what do warriors do?" Crescentia asked.

"We fight and die for our people" Annora answered.

"You've already made two mistakes there Zephyr" Lucius said as he walked in on their conversation.

"Why do you care? You've never for once treated me like I was worth something to you" Annora mentioned.

"A warrior doesn't fight and die for his people. He fights or dies for his people" Lucius retorted.

"And what might the second one be Lucius?" Crescentia asked.

"Stop lying to her Crescentia for she is not a warrior, nor will she ever be" Lucius said with so much detest.

"Why? Is it because I am a she-wolf? I shall prove to you Lucius that I am capable of making 10000 armies fall before me" Annora declared confidently.

"It's Alpha Lucius to you Zephyr! 10000 armies you say, we shall see about that when the time comes" Lucius said with a grin. Annora walked out in anger as Nye walked in.

"Zephyr" Nye said with a smile but she just ignored him.

"If you have your eyes on her, do yourself a favour and pluck it out" Lucius advised sternly.

"It is quite far from that Alpha Lucius" Nye said with a smile.

"What is it you have come for Nye?" Lucius asked.

"Klay suggested that we patrolled the kingdom. He said he suspects the Markarian and Arcturus wolves have teamed up against us. He claims they seek for ways to overpower us" Nye said.

"And what is the outcome?" Lucius asked.

"No trespassers, we are in the clear" Nye said.

"Am I that transparent Nye?" Crescentia asked with a grin.

"My apologies Beta Crescentia" Nye said.

"Apology accepted. You may go now" Crescentia said with a smile and then he left.

"Why do you smile so much at young Nye?" Lucius asked concerned that maybe Crescentia might be falling for Nye. Nye was a dark 6 ft, hefty young man. He had short dreads that reached his shoulder length. Before he became a Crescent warrior, he was a nuisance. He stole from people, he got engaged in fights he couldn't come out of. He was a strong wolf that was why he survived. One day, he attacked Klay for seriously bruising one of his friends. Crescentia was the one that broke up their fight. Nye had gotten Klay badly injured. She took Klay inside to heal and told Nye to wait for her. Seeing as she was the beta of the pack, he had no choice but to obey.

She came out and asked him if he would like to be a warrior. He was confused. At that time he was only eighteen but she saw the zest in his eyes. Plus, he overpowered Klay, one of the strongest warriors there was. She explained everything to him and he rejected her offer. He despised Lucius. He was the one that gave the order to Klay to gather all the pregnant wolves and when they returned, his mother never did. He told her that he wanted nothing to do with him. Then she looked at him and realised that he was the boy Idryssa foretold his future. She reminded him about it and after much contemplation, he changed his mind. Watching Nye fight made Crescentia start to develop feelings for him. She occasionally slept with Lucius yes, but it didn't mean that she loved him. Though Lucius loved her he never really found a way to show her that.

She tried on many occasions to get him in bed with her but they all failed. One time, they shared a kiss but that was all that had ever happened between them. Nye had told her that he didn't love her and that he had so much respect for her that he couldn't just see her as a one-time fling. She respected his decision but she never gave up on him.

"Don't get worried Lucius" Crescentia said with a grin as she stood up from the seat and was about to walk away when Lucius dragged her back.

"I own you... Tove. Just you remember that" Lucius whispered into her ears and then she angrily pulled herself out of his firm grasp and walked away.

Garven went down to the dungeon where Cassian was being kept captive. There were two hefty men guarding the cell. They knew it was time. They opened the cell and Cassian was shocked to see light once again. He looked so pale. He had been held prisoner for 20 years. He looked up at Garven. He could barely recognise him.

"Is it 20 years already?" Cassian asked frailingly.

"Welcome back friend" Garven said with a smile.
