Chapter 22: The Rest of the Rings
"Well?"
"It an assault-type skill with piercing ability." The blonde maid explained as she collected her two short swords.
"Oh? What are your thoughts about it?"
"It works well with first ring ability." She said with a nod.
Before walking over and getting into position to show it off.
Two of her yellow rings manifested behind her, the second one glowed and her right hand's nails extended and there was an energy glow. She then did a straight thrust with her hand and the force behind this move created a sound of sharp object cutting through the air. And there was a small cut on the tree several metres away.
Seeing this Xue Long nodded with satisfaction. His fox maid just got a defensive system neutralising move. With his upcoming Spirit energy training, she should be able to improve this further.
"Very good. We going to practise combining these two moves."
She nodded at him before walking over back next to Na'er who was simply standing there like a good maid and waiting for her turn.

After Hu Liena got her ring everyone returned to look for more spirit beasts.
A couple of hours later another report arrived about a fire tiger with the age of over 1.2 thousand old.
This a perfect Spirit Beast for Na'er who wanted her third ring to be a fire-based one.
Sure enough, the battle started and the silver-haired maid released her spirit rings the second one glowed which released a vortex of water which caged the feline for a moment the dragon maid use her spirit energy to jump inside and released her first ring which increase the sharpness of her spear and unleashed a multitude of sharp winds.
Before long the feline released a multitude of pained roars. Then it was over.
The speed at which the silver head delt with the spirit beast was simply astounding!
Hu Liena who saw this had stars in her eyes.
"She truly is your student. Brutality on a completely different level." Tang Yuehua said with a twitchy eyebrow.
"Efficiency is key to success in important battles." Xue Long said with a sagely nod.
The Tang Woman didn't refute him. Instead, she watched what going to happen next.
Once the water settled what they saw was Fire Tiger missing its head. The cut was clean. Same with two front legs which were chopped off.
'It appears Na'er used more than half of her spirit energy to sharpen the spear edges with her wind. Quite smart but, if she is to miss then she would have lost this fight. To compensate for this she used the water vortex to keep the big cat in place before finishing it off.
"Impressive way to use her first ring ability." Qian Renxue said that with an approving nod. It was swift, lethal, and right to the point. The battle didn't even last a minute.
"Indeed. Though she needs to sharpen her skills in spirit energy control. Once she masters her spirit energy she will be extremely powerful." Xue Long said that with a praising tone.
The praise for the silver head maid has made blonde fiance of his jealous. For the simple reason that he has not praised her yet!
"Relax. I have been training her for over a year, there is a reason I am praising her." The Prince said that as he saw how angrily his angel girl was pouting at him.
As he said that he walked over to Na'er.
"Well, how is your spirit ring ability?"
"Its flaming attack based on how tiger is lunging." She said that with a thoughtful look.
"Hmm… it seems you already perceiving things like that? Why don't you show me then?" He asked her with crossed arms, the prince wants to see if his maid has developed an understanding of how martial arts are developed.
Most simple forms are to observe animals in their natural habitat and copy the way they hunt. This is how Shaolin developed their Praying Mantis. The girl's first purple ring glowed and fire ignited around her spear. She spin it for a bit which generated more flames. Then she swirled and slammed it down. Then she pulled back and Spin herself sideways before slamming her spear again.
After seeing this the Fourth Prince nodded at her.
This was based on tiger lunging even the second strike was based on it. First, the feline would jump and then land if it misses by a few inches it would explode with power again to finish the job.
Once the ring ages to the next stage there is a high possibility that this ring will have entire sequences of moves based on the principles of tiger hunting for its prey.
"You are right. This is based on tiger lunging." As he said that he walked over and patted her head. That moment Na'er smiled silly seeing how her prince is pampering her!
Truthfully her biggest drive to be the best possible is because of these actions! She loves when he is praising her like this!
Seeing this, both Hu Liena and Qian Renxue had jealous looks. Especially his blonde fiance. She decided that there will ne no mercy when she will deal with her Spirit beast! She will utterly crush it!
She needs to vent that anger!

The next one to get her Spirit Ring was Tang Yuehua. The process was the same as before. Xue Long broke both wings of fancier looking bird than the last time.
After absorbing the ring. The Tang woman received another auxiliary spirit ability. This time it was guidance in the area of effect format. In other words, she can guide the whole classroom of people in her training. She can even use both rings in synchronisation.
If the Prince's guess is right, then she can fasten her training even further.
After the Tang Yuehua ring, only two people were without rings. This is quite obvious since they need a higher age after all.
"Are you sure? While I like this way of travelling the deeper we go into the forest the more dangerous the spirit beasts are. And your scouts and soldiers are a mix of normal people and low-level spirit Masters." Qian Renxue said that as they were walking deeper into the forest.
If they continue then a bunch of them are going to die. While she doesnt truly care she knows people may as well talk about how Fourth Prince is allow his soldiers pointlessly die.
"This is why only scouts are coming with us. The rest are back at the camp." He said with a shrug. He did, however, make sure they are ready at a moment's notice if some assassins going to pull up again on their way back.
Though they do have Titled Douluo following them closely.
So worst case he will pop out and deal with some high-level threat.
As they progressed further into the forest eventually they found out several thousand-year-old spirit beasts. Which were delt with by Xue Long.
They were not killed only beaten up. He let them cultivate or in their case age more. Killing them simply like this there is no point.
Eventually, after couple more days, they found a hawk-like bird with some light attributes. The bird's body was similar to that of glowy glass.
Seeing her prey Qian Renxue summoned her martial spirit and rushed into the sky with a simple hand motion she summoned a simple-looking looking sword.
While her sword is simple looking it was not. Originally one of the guards had it. Xue Long used this weapon to practise Cloud and Blue Dragon styles. At some point, the weapon became quite saturated with energies produced by that style. So, she took it for herself to use.
Moments later she engaged the enraged bird in aerial combat. While the bird had speed Qian Renxue had manoeuvrability and actual hands which she can use.
Though. After trying to hit it a couple of times she realised that she won't able to do it easily. Then the blonde remembered how Hu Liena fought and how Xue Long disabled flying beasts.
This made an idea pop into her mind.
So, when the bird was close and looking directly at her she used her second ring ability which blinded the bird. Once it was blind she rushed forward and used one of Blue Dragon attacking styles which is a rain of sword stabs.
Such assault on its wings made the bird screech from pain and start to fall to the ground.
The blonde angel girl followed after and quickly unleashed a crushing blow to its head.
With a loud sound of skull breaking, the bird was dead.
"Even your fiance is brutal. Did you make her like this or it's just that you both are made for each other?" Tang Yuehua asked him while looking at the short battle.
"I would say both."
The Fourth Prince said with a casual shrug as he walked over to the blonde fiance of his and ordered his scouts to create another perimeter around the area.
A few hours later the absorption was done and Qian Renxue stood up. There was a small smirk on her lips. At this moment she had a higher rank than her future husband!
"Well? What did you get? The bird was around four to five thousand years old." He asked her curiously.
The blonde girl smiled almost wickedly and summoned her rings. The newest ring glowed and golden light surrounded her future Husband.
"It's called 'Angel Free Will' it binds—" the golden glow around Xue Long cracked and he simply walked out from the bindings.
"Not bad. It binds people with holy attributes, very dangerous for beings who are weak to it and then the purifying effect can even dissolve Spirit energy." He said thst while feeling up the dissolving energy from the bind.
However, his fiance was looking at him with a deadpan look.
Xue Long walked over to her and flicked her forehead.
She quickly hissed from pain.
"Ouch! Why did you hit me!?"
"For trying to bind me. Next time I am going to smack you in your butt. So don't try to be naughty with me again." He said that seriously with a single raised eyebrow.
She quickly gulped down nerviously.
"Renxue understands." She quickly did a respectful bow.
"Good to hear. Then why don't we move to find a Spirit beast for me?"
As he said that the whole group once again started to look for prey for their Prince.
This time the scouts were moving through the tree tops to make sure they don't accidentally provoke unnecessary Spirit Beast.

A couple of days later, the earth rumbled and Xue Long was standing in front of quite a huge golden-coloured snake which had a head similar to a dragon.
The beast was a Golden Python, a spirit beast with a drop of dragon blood.
"Give me your sword."
The Prince motioned one of the scouts to give him his sword.
The nervous scout handed it over and Xue Long started to walk towards the towering creature.
Seeing this little puny human walking towards it like that, it released an ear-shattering roar and lunged at the Prince.
To answer back, a ghostly image of a Blue Dragon appeared behind him.
"Blue Dragon Devouring the Clouds!!!"
***SHING***
An upwards slash of powerful energy rushed towards the snake's face, cutting it vertically. The cut was perfect, and the sound of metal cutting the area spread through the whole area.
With a thud, the corpse of the spirit beast dropped to the ground. A fountain of blood spread through the area.
Weirdly enough it completely missed the prince who was just standing there with a smoking sword.
"Sorry. It appears it couldn't handle the energy." As the prince said that he handed back the sword which crumpled into dust a few seconds later.
