Chapter 9: JUST WAIT!
It wasn't just her appearance that had changed, but also her life and that was what Beatrice felt. She never thought that her life would change drastically like this.
Beatrice feels more appreciated, loved, and most importantly has many friends. If before her only friend was Alyssa, now she has more than 20 friends. They were always by Beatrice's side and doing a lot of fun things.

Beatrice raised her eyebrow. "Why should I shut my mouth? Are you offended by what I said?" said Beatrice. "Ah... I forgot you were the winner of that beauty contest."
Yeah, as you have heard, Valery is the winner of the beauty contest. Valery has always been the reigning winner in the beauty contest beating the other participants. No wonder Valery is so famous that it extends to other schools.
Valery was even nicknamed 'The Queen'.

Valery clenched her fists. "Shut your mouth! Because you will never be able to replace me!" shouted Valery.
Beatrice clucked. "Tsk, why are you so sure?" said Beatrice folding her arms in front of her chest.
Their classmates slowly moved away from Beatrice's desk, feeling that the atmosphere was starting to heat up between Beatrice and Valery. That was because they also knew how dangerous it would be if someone angered Valery.

"Let go!" Beatrice rebelled.
Valery suddenly grabbed Beatrice's cheeks with her right hand, making their friends surprised to see that.
Valery looked at Beatrice. "You! You better not be too proud of your face!" angry Valery.
Beatrice winced at the pain in her cheeks. "Sshh... Valery let me go!" shouted Beatrice holding Valery's hand that was gripping her cheek.
"You better remember this well, Beatrice Blair, if I... Valery Riley will destroy you!" Valery warned Beatrice, then released her grip on Beatrice's cheeks.
Beatrice holding her reddened cheeks glared at Valery who was still standing beside her desk. Her breathing was ragged holding back her anger at what Valery had done to her.
Valery pointed Beatrice with her index finger right at Beatrice's face. "You better remember that, nerd Beatrice!" said Valery who then walked out of the classroom by slamming the door.
BRAK!
Beatrice stood up from her chair and hit her desk hard. "Just watch! I will humiliate you Valery!" shouted Beatrice angrily and clenched her fists.

Alyssa looked at her best friend who had been walking back and forth in front of her. She felt confused by her best friend's attitude at this time and her best friend looked so angry.
"Beatrice, don't you feel tired? You've been walking back and forth all this time, just sit down!" said Alyssa propping her chin on the desk.
Yes, she felt dizzy seeing her best friend's weird attitude.
Beatrice turned and pulled one of the chairs roughly. "Do you know?!"
"I don't know," said Alyssa casually.
"I haven't said anything to you yet!" said Beatrice feeling irritated.
Alyssa tucked her hair. "That's why I said, that I don't know," said Alyssa.
She's right, isn't she? How would she know, if Beatrice hadn't said anything to her yet? So she had given the proper answer to Beatrice, her best friend.
Beatrice rolled her eyes. "Valery! She's being rude to me!" said Beatrice with a little scream.
"Shhh!" Alyssa put her index finger in front of her lips. "Lower your voice, have you forgotten that we are in the library?"
Yes, they are currently in the library and because of Beatrice's voice some of the students in the library looked at them and it was an embarrassment.
Beatrice scratched the back of her head. "Hehehe... I'm sorry..."
"Now tell me, what exactly happened?" asked Alyssa, curious to hear Beatrice's story.
Beatrice cleared her throat. "Valery was rude to me, he grabbed my cheeks during class earlier," said Beatrice.
Alyssa's eyes widened. "What?! She did that to you?!" surprised Alyssa. "But why?"
Alyssa asked like that because she was sure there must be a reason behind Valery's rude attitude towards her best friend. Because she knew very well that Valery's attitude was very easily provoked and because of that, she was sure that her best friend had done something that had provoked Valery's emotions.
Beatrice tucked her hair. "I said that I felt bad for taking her place as the beauty contest winner," said Beatrice casually.
PUK!
"Awwww! Why did you hit me?!" protested Beatrice, because Alyssa just hit her in the forehead.
"That's because you're so stupid! Have you forgotten that Valery is very sensitive about beauty contests?! That's because she's the winner of a beauty contest in a row," said Valery, looking at Beatrice.
Like I said before right? That Valery is always the winner of beauty contests, she always beats the other participants.
"No wonder Valery is mad at you!" said Alyssa again, after knowing the reason for Valery's anger.
As for Beatrice, she just smiled and scratched the back of her head. The closed the book in front of her roughly. "That's why! I'll beat her!" shouted Beatrice.
Alyssa widened her eyes again, reminding Beatrice that they were currently both in the library for the second time. Beatrice covered her mouth with her right hand and then moved her face forward a little.
"I will beat her!" said Beatrice but this time in a whisper.
Alyssa raised her eyebrow. "Beat her? What do you mean?" Alyssa was confused because of her best friend's words.
Beatrice straightened up and tucked her hair. "Valery! I will beat her in the beauty contest no matter what!" said Beatrice with a grin on her face.
