Chapter 10: New names
"How do you feel?" I stared down at Lucas as he asked the question plaguing my mind, the love I have for my said adoptive parents was never changing they never for on e made me or Lucas question their love for us.
Feeling the traitorous tear slip down my eyes down to Luca's shirt, "I still miss em nothing changes we have a fucked up history makes us scary and cool" I whispered into his ears sniffing, her chuckled along side with me.
"The pain can only get worse from here" I hummed in affirmation of his words, I was read to ace this new place, "Lucas we are putting history behind us and we are starting new"
Turing his seat towards me, I crouched to his level So that we can be on a face to face basis, I took his hands in my palms hands staring into his eyes as she stared back into mine I took a deep breath
"Lucas We are all we've got, just you and me, We don't have mom and dad anymore, We also don't have real parents as we've been told, you are my only true family and we are going to stick together to the end, I'm never losing you too"
At the end of my speech he had a smile on his face running my hands through his chin he held my palms tears glistering at his eyes.
"I love you sis I always will and I will always protect you no matter what this is a new beginning and you change and you and I are going to have a shit ton a fun together "
Smacking his forehead with a smile, " Mom's dead now does not give you the freedom to curse, I am going to be your stuck up teenage Mom that doesn't allow you to get a girlfriend and get her knocked up early, I'm going to be strict and I'll give you a smacking anytime you disobey me"
His laughter echoed through the empty hallways, "Yeah you wish and I will be your stuck up annoying teenage younger brother that Chase is away every boy that comes to our apartment or don't room whatever they call them here and yes if you get to curse I get to curse too"
Eyeing him warily, " You little piece of... you are going to be such a pain aren't you? " Sending his infamous smirk my way, I got to my feet. " Well I'll be a pian too"
Kissing his forehead I expected a groan or a retorted comment but instead he pulled me in for a hug, wrapping My hands around him I relaxed into his embrace
"I love you sis" I heard him whisper into my ear feeling warmth involuntarily ran through my spine I shut my eyes to stop a tear from escaping
" I love you too bro" I respond back with a pat on the back,
"New beginnings, we should start a fresh, let's change our names, we've always wanted to have similar names, This could be a chance new beginnings, new identity and new names, We already have a new surnames, so it's not going to be hard I guess" Lucas said, Smiling
" I have a name already, it's Averill mom's name I've always wanted to uses it" I nodded my head in affirmation,
" Get out of my head I want a new that starts with an a too , I'll be called the avenger" Sending him a glare he burst into a fit of laughter as I wheeled him back to the head office,, Just the a name popped into my head,
"it's our grandfather's name he was a warrior in the stories mom used to tell us when we were kids Aeryn?" He took a short pause.
" Averill Crescent and Aeryn crescent, together we are the double A's "
Giggling" You have to ruin a great moment with your poor nicknaming skills" He snapped his head back giving me a subtle glare.
" Averill" I heard Lucas whisper to me, " What if I never walk again? " His voice appeared broken, I felt his pain, literally I could feel the sadness in his soul for the first time I read his mind and he was scared.
Originally his sickness made his legs shut. down often so our parents were advised to get him wheelchair, But once in a while he used to walk but after attack the healers said he sickness was gone and so was his leg.
"Hey Aeryn don't give up yet, when there's life There is hope you would walk I would make sure you walk again even if it's one of the last things I do but for now I can be your personal chauffeur"
Thankfully that returned a smile to his face, "Let's go change our names officially" I hollered wheeling him forward"
"Lavender" He blurted out all of a sudden
"huh ?"
"Lavender, That's what I'll call you personally pumpkin got old" I took a pause, " Lavender" testing the nickname on my tongue, " Why lavender? "
He gave me a small smile, " Because in your love I find peace"
"I love it Aeryn, I really do, You know sometimes you want to smart 16-year-old". He snorted with a chuckle, "Or maybe you are too"
" I dare you to say it and you'll never see me again" I threatening him knowing exactly what he was about to say.
He was about to come up with a snide comment when the head office door opened up revealing of Alpha Lawrence, "Oh beautiful nickname you thought of do I hear you call him Aeryn? "
He motion for us to comment come in we did as we were told taking a sit back in our previous positions when we were in the room.
" Yes sir, we decided to change our names since we were going to have new surnames anyways I am going with Averill and his going with Aeryn? is anything wrong with the names?" He had a smile on his face.
" Aeryn is the name of the first ForbiddenCrescent Alpha, well his middle name not everyone knew it only if you studied history as much as I did" With a frown in my face.
" Well. my mum probably did because she used to tell us stories about a warrior who was our grandfather" Nodding he smiled at me,
" She always did have a knack for history, so you are taking her name? " He sent me a cocked eyebrow, I nodded with a straight face.
" Well Averill Crescent and Aeryn crescent, I'll get that registered the orientation has been moved to tomorrow, locate your dorm rooms in the map and be there in the cafeteria in an hour for dinner"
" I have a question," I said before getting up to help Lucas,
" Shoot ask away" With a curt nod I sighed, " Were the Stars forced to take us in? or it was volunteerily and why do we have the same hair color if we were adopted? ".
" It's was a voluntary decision and the Stars already had to be known for their hair, It was just a coincidence that played into our favor, They wanted you kids to have a chance at a normal life without having to be on the run or your life so they decided to leave amongst the humans hence we had the place security and that was the duty of the twins Diego and Paige. Then we would place a teacher who would teach you your history first but sometimes life does not go according to plan"
I was about to ask another question when he shot me down, "You kids need to rest tomorrow is going to be a long day Head to the dorm rooms, Make new friends because you have roommates and if you don't want to it's fine get something to eat and have a good night rest"
" Alright Alpha Laurence thank you" Wheeling my brother out of the room I took the map he stretched out as me "Thanks" I said tracing my fingers on the path to the dorm rooms, It was a bit of a journey from the head office.
