Chapter 12: SP 3: Leaf VS Brock
As Wes and Endou were about to reach their destination a certain beautiful youth reached Pewter City.
"Finally I'm out of this forest. Not being able to have a bath for so long, is torture."
Leaf was really downcast. Not being able to have a place to sleep, in Viridian Forest really took a toll on her. After appreciating modern civilization again, she moved straight for the Pokemon Center. There she instantly called her family back home.
LEAF: Mom i finally reached Pewter City.
LEAF'S MOM: Great job my sweetheart. Your father and i were really worried about you. so how's the journey going?
LEAF: It's going fine the forest was a bit of a pain, but I'm fine.
LEAF'S MOM: God to hear. Professor Oak along with your dad and Wes's dad are in a trip to Goldenrod City in the Johto region.
Then Leaf and her mother continued to talk for 2 hours straight. Then Leaf went to sleep and first think in the morning moved straight to the Gym. She shared her information with the receptionist and after 10 minutes confirming that the battle will be a 2VS2 Double Battle, she ran straight to meat the Gym Leader. When she reached the rocky arena a half naked man reaveled himself infront of her.
BROCK: I see Leaf. You are the second person From Pallet Town to challenge me this week
LEAF: The name of the youth that challenged you. Did it happen to be Garry.
BROCK: That's right. He got me good with his Squirtle. Let's see how well you will do?
" I see Garry has already acquired this Badge."
LEAF: Ok.Thank for telling me.
Next with the confirmation of both trainers the battle began. Leaf's two starting Pokémon where a Bulbasaur and a Bellsprout. As for the Gym Leader of Pewter City Brock, he chose his Onix and Geodude.
BROCK: I see. So you are an aspiring Grass Type trainer.
LEAF: Yes. I want to become the first ever Grass Type Elite Four member of the Indigo League.
BROCK: That's a nice dream to have. I hope for the best.
LEAF: Thanks for the kind words.
BROCK: The mach starts right now.
LEAF: Bulbasaur use Reflect. Bellsprout use Growth.
BROCK: Onix use Curse. Geodude Rock Polish.
Then Leaf's Bulbasaur and Bellsprout where enveloped in a blue light. On the other hand Onix was enveloped by a mysterious energy while Geodude looked like a shining sculpture.
" I See so he/she goes for the buff route."
This was the thought of both of them after the first exchange of the battle.
BROCK: Onix Heavy Slam Bulbasaur. Geodude Rock Polish again.
LEAF: Bellsprout Power Whip the Onix. Bulbasaur Leech Seed the Geodude.
Then Bellsprout moved infront of Bulbasaur having it's right root suddenly enlarged and enveloped by a bright green light smashing against the opposing Onix resulting in Onix and Bellsprout staying on the same spot with their exchange resulting in a total draw. On the other hand As Geodude continued polishing himself even more, Bulbasaur manage to inflict the Leech Seed status on Geodude.
BROCK: Nice exchange. Now Onix Take Down the Bulbasaur.
LEAF: Bellsprout Razor Leaf.
BROCK: Geodude Wide Guard.
LEAF: Bulbasaur Bide.
Then with a quick pase both trainers gave their orders. As Onix started charging for the Bulbasaur. Bellsprout did a Razor Leaf attack targeting both of Brock's Pokemon, but Brock had the answer to that Move. Geodude's Wide Guard could protect the user's team from all multi-target moves (such as Surf or Razor Leaf, ech), for the duration of the turn (some few seconds in the real world). Bulbasaur took the Take Down Move of the Onix directly. But thanks to Reflect and Leech Seed, the damage it received, wasn't that bad.
LEAF: Bellsprout use Vine Whip on Onix.
BROCK:Onix use Curse. Geodude use Tackle on Bellsprout.
Bellsprout moved a lot faster hiting Onix. Onix was enveloped by the mysterious energy of the Curse Move rising it's Attack and Def stat again, while lowering it's Speed stat. Geodude hit Bellsprout Knocking it backwards.
LEAF: Bellsprout Power Whip.
Before anyone could react Bellsprout's countered attacked with it's Power Whip Move that was also a critical hit on Brock's Geodude.Geodude flew back smashing in a spire directly fainting from the powerful strike. Brock immediately recalled back his fainted Pokemon.
BROCK: You deserve your rest Geodude. Onix Twister then Rock Tomb.
Onix then summoned a tornado full of draconic energy hiting and sending in the air both of Leaf's Pokemon. Then huge boulders fell from the sky hiting both Bellsprout and Bulbasaur. But before the smoke dissipated a huge pilar of white light at an unimaginable speed hit the Onix sending it flying (Bulbasaur Bide Move). Onix was trying with all it's strength to lift up its body, but in the end it fainted. The smoke then dissipated reviling both of Leaf's standing. Bellsprout had some small scars, but Bulbasaur looked a lot more tired. Then Brock returned Onix back to his Pokeball and went over to Leaf's side, to congratulate her for her victory over him. But he suddenly stopped, as a bright white light enveloped Leaf's Bulbasaur and it started to rapidly change it's appearance.
LEAF: YEEEEEEEEESSS!! Bulbasaur is evolving.
Leaf was so excited about this. She had finally taken a step further to completing her dream. Her first Pokemon evolution plus the Boulder badge are the start of many thinks to come.
Bulbasaur then stoped shining in this bright white light reviling a cool looking Ivysaur.
LEAF: Great Bulbasaur. ooopps! Ivysaur.
BROCK: Congratulations to your win Leaf of Pallet Town. Here as the Gym Leader of Pewter City i Award you with 10000 Pokedolars and the Boulder Badge. You can also get the unbrakeable TM for the Rock Tomb Move or 1 Iron Vitamin.
LEAF: Thank you very much i choose the Iron Vitamin.
BROCK: OK. You should fell proud it was a very good match. Good luck in the rest of your journey.
Then Leaf left the Gym and went straight to the Pokemon center to heal both her Pokemon and share her excitement, about this achievement to her mother. The next morning Leaf left Pewter City and was on her way to reach Cerulean City.
