Chapter 39: Revelation 2

Like a foggy atmosphere was clearing to reveal a beautiful day. Everything started to reveal itself to the trio. The people trying to bring them down was the fraction that broke out from their old fraternity!

They were just three in number before, but now?... Now their members have increased a great deal. Even the unification couldn't tell how many were there. How would three people be able to fight with hundreds of enemies?

The only thing they saw was faceless enemies that seemed like hundreds in number. Out of these multitudes, only two faces were visible. Makinde Badru and his only living son, Akin.

The trio saw how it all began... Makinde's hatred towards them, especially towards Aderinsola was simply because Aderinsola was more successful than he was.

There two companies submitted proposals for six major government projects and Aderinsola's company was awarded five out of it. That embarrassed him a lot.

Makinde was sure that even the one they gave him was given out of pity. He was sure people would be laughing at him behind his back. They would be saying he didn't get the contract because he was inferior to Aderinsola

They saw how Aderinsola's only son was mysteriously murdered because of another project that they both submitted proposals for.

They saw how he manipulated Leo and Emma into sleeping with each other so he could turn their families against each other.

They saw how Aderinsola jumped to conclusions without getting his facts rights. They saw how he mistook Emma for one of the people that killed his son. The hateful conversations that he discussed about her with his family, giving out her secret about being a chime child and how she could easily be killed.

They saw all the private conversations he had with Leo, talking about how Leo could use her before letting her go and how he forbade him from getting emotional with her.

Then finally, they saw everything that went down between Leo and Emma. How they physically and verbally abuse each other and how Makinde Badru immediately took charge of the situation turning it to his advantage. How he manipulated Leo's vision, causing him to strangle Emma till she lost consciousness.

Mama Silver suddenly broke away from the unification. She couldn't bear it anymore. She just watched how her granddaughter was being strangled to death. How her precious Ayinke struggled to claw her neck out of Leo's death grip. That scene was just too much for a mother to watch and stomach.

Breathing hard with eyes blazing like silvery fire, she faced the wall, crying and hitting on it with her balled fists

"No! No! No!... This cannot happen to me!... Olorun Eledumare! (Almighty God!). The creator of heaven and earth. The origin of virtue and morality. The best judge of character... You know I have only served and worship you in truth.

If I've done something to deserve this please have mercy and forgive... You that dispenses justice with compassionate fairness. Please have mercy and forgive my inequities. I don't want to carry out judgment on anybody, I'm only human. I don't want to have blood on my hands..."

Mama Silver poured her hearts out to God. She cried so hard, till her ribcage felt like it was about to collapse inside her. Her ribcage now hurts because of the way she struggled to control her breathing while crying. She cried till she finally stopped banging on the wall and tiredly slide down the walk, sitting on the floor.

Aderinsola felt guilty and blamed himself for everything. The hatred towards his friends was because of him. All the misunderstandings between the two kids were also caused by him. If only he had gotten his facts right. If only he had simply let go and not seek revenge on his son's death. If only he had left all judgment to God! Now an innocent girl has lost her life!

While Mama Silver was bitterly crying her heart out, and asking God for Mercy. Aderinsola was also on his knees inside the room doing the same, continuously asking for forgiveness and mercy.

"God, if anyone needs to be blamed then blame me! If anyone deserves to die them take me, just save her, please... These children are innocent. Don't let them pay for my sins"

Oracle on his part didn't reveal any emotions. Even though he couldn't father a child, he knew how painful it is to lose a loved one. Aside from that, the three of them can't be dejected at the same time. Somebody needed to be in control.

He went back into his shrine and brought out his ifa divination tray to consult with Ifa. Looking for ways to ease Mama Silver and Aderinsola's pain.

What he found though made him laughed out happily. What happened was just a lesson for them to learn from. Silver's granddaughter will live!

He found out a lot of things about Emma and Leo that would make their grandparents happy, he was sure. But first thing first, he needed to take care of Makinde.

He won't have Makinde's blood on his hands by killing him. Makinde himself would trip and fall on his own wickedness.

Twenty minutes later, he went inside his prayer room. and broke the news to both the grandparents who had not moved from where he left them.

"Enough of the crying! Rejoice, because God has answered our prayers!... Ayinke will live! She is alive!" He announced to the grandparents who were both looking back at him, stupefied.

"Ademide wouldn't even be able to kill her even if he tried. Relax she's alive!" He shouted joyfully to his friends with a huge smile on his face.
