Chapter 27: ISSUE #27
A hero is born!
A week passed since; Ian had been attacked by the other inmates in the facility. Since then, everything had been quiet, and Ian was actually beginning to feel comfortable. He was allowed to have video visitations from his friends which usually just included Julian and the Hellions, and Rahne. But that didn't mean he was happy. He wouldn't be happy again until he was free.
" How are ye doing tonight?" Rahne asked. " Did ye, eat like I asked ye to?" Rahne asked.
Ian looked down at the screen and shook his head.
" Ian, ye promised me ye would take care of ye self. Why are ye not eating?" Rahne asked.
" Because... I just can't trust it. Rahne, I really dinnae trust them. If there's even a slight chance the food is poisoned, I could die. Without ma powers activated, I dinnae think I could survive being poisoned." Ian told the woman. " I just dinnae want tae be here anymore Rahne. My friends turned their backs on me, the teachers abandoned me. You and the Hellions are all I got." Ian spoke. His emotions were starting to get the better of him.
" I know ye don'. I know none of this is yuir fault and I am so sorry that you have tae go through this. I dinnae know of anything I can say tae make ye happier, but I do know yuir going tae get through this. And when ye do I promise, nothing like this'll ever happen again." Rahne told the man. " Ye just need to-"
" Rahne? Hello? Rahne?" Rahne had suddenly been cut out as the power went out in the building, all of it went out for a few moments and then the building was suddenly rocked by a massive explosion.
" WHOA!" Ian was flung from his bed and landed hard on the floor.
A moment later the prison's backup generators kicked in and alarms started going off.
" What the hell is going on?" Ian asked himself.
" Be advised, there are multiple intruders in the building! Inmates are breaking free!" Ian heard a voice over the intercom shouting, most likely to every single floor in the building.
Ian ran to his cell door and tried to look out of it.
" GUARD! GUARD!" Ian shouted. He was trying to get the guards attention as fast as he could.
The guard on duty at the time shouted at Ian as he struggled to secure the door to this floor.
" Listen, just sit there. I need to lock this level down got it!" The guard shouted.
Ian saw the man run past his door to the door at the other end of the hall, but before he could attempt to lock it, he was flung backwards by a powerful force knocking the door down.
" HAHAHA! WHERE ARE YOU LITTLE BOY?!" Rhino exclaimed.
" Oh shit. Oh shit! Oh SHIT!" The guard shouted in terror of the big brute.
" HEY, YOU NEED TO LET ME OUT!" Ian shouted to the guard.
" What? Do you think I'm crazy?" The guard asked.
" YOU NEED TO TRUST ME! I can beat him. But not locked away in here. You need to let me out!" Ian told the man.
" AHAHAH! THERE YOU ARE LITTLE BOY!" Rhino began charging down the hall towards the guard and Ian's cell.
"AHHHH FUCK IT!" The guard jumped to his feet and quickly started unlocking Ian's cell.
Rhino jumped at the guard, ready to flatten him completely, but the moment the shield in Ian's cell was down, Ian exploded from the room and knocked Rhino into the cell in front of him.
" Quick take my collar off." Ian shouted.
" Why? You just knocked that guy through three feet of solid steel." The guard replied. His fear from before slightly lowered thanks to Ian's quick save.
" I need my full powers. There's an entire facility of guys like this. I can't fight them without my powers. You trusted me to save your life. Trust me to save theirs too." Ian told the man.
" Right, just promise you won't make me regret this." The guard replied.
" I won't." Ian told the man.
The guard nodded and pulled out the key to Ian's collar, every shift change the guard was given the key just in case, and unlocked Ian's collar. The collar dropped to the ground and Ian felt free.
" AHHHH! LITTLE BOY! YOU WILL PAY FOR THAT!" Rhino shouted as he got to his feet.
" Is that right?" Ian asked.
* CRACCCK! CRAAACK! Ian cracked his neck on both sides along with his knuckles on both hands.
" You wanna know something, Rhino? Ever since all this started, I've been angry. Angrier than I've ever been in my entire life. And all I've wanted to do since I got here... Was hit something as hard as I can." Ian told the man. " Thank you for volunteering."
" HAHAHAHAHA! I WILL BREAK YOU JUST LIKE BEFORE LITTLE MAN!" Rhino bellowed.
" No... This time, I fight BACK!"
Rhino and Ian charged each other. Ian ducked under the large man's chest and speared him off his feet, lifting him up off the ground and jumping with him in his arms. Ian and Rhino both crashed through the floor below and landed right in the cafeteria area of the prison, where a large number of inmates had gathered.
" Oh, great." Ian muttered. He landed headfirst into a full-on riot on Alcatraz. Ian grabbed Rhino's legs and started spinning him around ferociously. " UGHHHHYAAAAGAH!" Ian launched a spinning rhino right into the crowd of prisoners.
" Hey, what the hell man?! YOU'RE ONE OF US!" Ian heard one of the prisoners shout.
" Not right now. Right now, I'm on the job. So, who's next?" Ian asked.
" ME!" Ian turned around and was met with a hard wrecking ball right to his head. He jerked back and stumbled slightly.
It was Carl Creel, the absorbing man, who had attacked him.
" Didn't learn your lesson the first time? Well, I'm more than happy to teach ya again ya brat!" Creel exclaimed.
" NO CREEL! HE IS MINE!" Rhino shouted from across the room. " AAAGHHHH!" He charged towards Ian, building up a lot of momentum.
" Not likely, ya giant monster. This one's mine!" Creel exclaimed. He swung his wrecking ball at Ian.
This time, Ian caught the wrecking ball and pulled on it and yanked Creel off his feet. He spun the chain around and launched Creel right into Rhino, who swatted the absorbing man aside with ease.
Still holding onto the wrecking ball and spinning it, Ian launched it at Rhino and hit the behemoth in his stomach with the ball.
Rhino grunted but kept on trucking forward.
Ian rolled out of the way of Rhino's charge and punched the big guy right in his face, knocking him to the ground. Ian then grabbed Rhino by his chest and hoisted him up and over his head.
" Here's one for the Naruto fans. LIGER BOMB!" Ian jumped into the air, soaring across the room with Rhino over his head, and power bombed the big guy right on top of Creel.
The weight of Rhino sent both him and Creel plummeting down the floors and into the basement.
" GET HIM!"
Ian looked on as the crowd of Inmates began rushing him.
" Here we go!" Ian ran headfirst into the crowd and bodies started flying. Ian was punching men across the room, making sure not to hit them too hard and kill them, knowing that would only further his time in this place. But as he easily dispatched the criminally insane, he had one question in his mind. " What the hell is going on?"
Down in the lower levels of the prison, one particular inmate was busy setting others free.
" Well, now. Looks like my debt is complete, I've set a few scape goats lose, to hide your movements. But now we're done. You're on your own."
" Thank you, Otto. I am most grateful for this timely rescue, my latest battle with the spider has left me... Rather drained. But now, I'm pumped up and ready to cause all kinds of CARNAGE!"
