Synopsis

However, after seven years of inactivity, he decides to return to the battling grounds for ... college credit? Financial gain? And personal spite? What kind of journey is this? (I don't own Pokemon.)

More realistic Pokémon fanfic tbh.. Alot of fanfics on this site just give the mc a hidden ability shiny poke with a 10 year old trainer. I'd recommend giving this a read even though the mc suffers from dense mc syndrome.
