Chapter 558: conners ambition
Peter cautiously followed the trembling spider silk, moving like a giant spider. However, he overlooked one crucial point: the roles of prey and predator often shift depending on the circumstances.

The Lizard attacked with a fierce wind, its claws tearing into his head and face, leaving deep scars on Peter's chest. Fortunately, amidst the turbulent currents beneath the spider web, he managed to break free and fall into the water, narrowly escaping the Lizard's clutches.
His hunting attempt ended in complete failure, and he nearly lost his life. Worse yet, Peter left behind a camera with his name on it at the scene. He had intended to use the camera to capture proof that Dr. Connors was the Lizard. Peter's plan was well thought out, but it was contingent on his ability to subdue the Lizard. Now, he had failed to defeat the Lizard. Overconfidence had backfired on him.
Dr. Connors found the camera and naturally discovered Spider-Man's true identity. He crushed the camera, clearly not wanting this troublesome Spider-Man to bother him again!
Wanda shook her head and said, "You are just like Pietro... my brother, inexperienced and sometimes overly reckless. Just because you have superpowers doesn't make you invincible. That's an illusion!"
Peter shrugged. "My plan was generally correct, but Dr. Connors was too cunning. The biggest problem was that the police wouldn't listen to me. If they had trusted me, none of this would have happened."
"If you hadn't insisted on bringing a camera, you wouldn't have been discovered by the Lizard!" Wanda retorted.
Wanda turned to him,"You know, the Peter Parker I know wouldn't make such excuses."
Peter raised an eyebrow. "I am me, he is him. We may both be Spider-Man, but we are definitely not the same person!"
In his heart, he agreed with what Wanda said. In the video, he indeed made a big mistake, acting recklessly and underestimating his opponent. However, he was unwilling to admit his error. The rebellious Peter couldn't hold back. There are differences even among heroes.

In any case, his mindset underwent a drastic change. Dr. Connors believed that lizards were a higher form of life, not devolved but evolved. As a pioneer of this level of evolution, Dr. Connors also believed it was his duty to bring this glorious evolution to everyone and bless the entire human society!
Yes, Dr. Connors was about to do something big. He was trying to "evolve" all humans into lizard, starting with New York City. To achieve this crazy goal, he had to get rid of that pesky spider first.
So, Dr. Connors injected himself with a larger dose of the serum and sneaked through the underground pipes to Peter's school.
Unlike Spider-Man, who would hesitate, he broke into the school in broad daylight, causing immediate panic among the students. Peter was very upset when he saw lizardman. He didn't even have time to change into his Spider-Man suit before being spotted by the creature, who then smashed his head through a wall and into a classroom.
The powerful Lizard had the upper hand in close combat, and Peter clearly needed his Spider-Man suit to improve his combat effectiveness. Fortunately, he carried his web-shooters with him and seized the opportunity to escape from the Lizard. During this process, the Lizard tried to persuade him to give up the fight.
But Peter could hear the contradictions in Dr. Connors's words; he was obviously mentally unstable. Verbal confrontation was pointless, and in the end, it had to come down to a fight.
