Chapter 41 Dessert Time
"Bang!"
"Move...!" The Ectoplasm clone leading the attack exclaimed before being pierced by a bullet-shaped blast of air right into his abdomen at the same time that the head of the Earth Centaur he was riding exploded into many pieces. This immediately dispels the Ectoplasm clone while the Earth Beast crumbles.
And this was just the start.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
I exclaim happily, waving and pointing my fingers childishly in the direction of my reckless opponents as the small air cannons suspended above me fire endlessly at the targets I have selected.
As this is happening, a group of winged figures begin to rapidly descend from the sky. "Just a little more!" A clone exclaims, gripping the reins of an Earth Dragon, followed by a dozen Earth Gargoyles on a collision course toward us.
However, I don't have to worry about that, as they are immediately intercepted by I-Island's hacked drones who open fire on them, thus starting intense air combat. After this, small pieces of dirt and metal start falling from the sky everywhere as I continue to exclaim and wave my fingers against the main enemy force.
A few minutes ago, I tried to delegate the control of the drones to my artificial intelligence while I took care of other matters which required more attention. However, I have lost all contact with the Red King.
I'm sure a certain little white mouse had something to do with it.
Because of this, I had no choice but to transfer control of the drones momentarily to Twice who seems to be having a lot of fun with his new task of securing the sky.
"This is like a video game but better! Much better!" Twice exclaims energetically, holding a gamepad in his hands and pressing the fire button repeatedly as a small holographic screen projected through the gamepad hovers in front of him showing the aerial combat in detail.
"We will not give up!" An Ectoplasm clone exclaims, running with arms outstretched behind him as numerous clones zoom past him riding different types of Earth Beasts, from centaurs, wolves, and even ostriches.
Pixie-Bob certainly has a very creative imagination.
Unfortunately, almost instantly they were assailed by a flurry of air bullets which tore through and dissipated many of the clones while some of the Earth Beasts crumpled, causing their riders to crash hard to the ground and dissipate.
Hah! Take this!
However, this did not stop the remaining clones who, being part of a hivemind, immediately replaced the fallen ones by generating more clones, so the number of clones did not seem to decrease.
"We will get up as many times as necessary! And we will make our way in the face of adversity!" The newly spawned clones exclaim in unison with determination before continuing their relentless advance.
At this, I briefly stop my attack. "Rover...Stop." I whisper, catching my breath as Rover slows considerably to a stop. "They are like cockroaches." I say smiling defiantly and watching with fascination the determination of my opponents in the distance who are getting closer and closer.
"I guess I should increase the intensity a bit." I hum with a slight glint of amusement in my eyes before taking a deep breath and changing the position of my hands, thus forming an imaginary submachine gun.
I can't wait to crush that determination under my little feet.
"Bang! Ba-ba-ba-ba-ba…!"
I repeatedly exclaimed, happily unleashing hell on my opponents who began to be mowed down en masse by the small air cannons suspended above me, firing endlessly at full speed, causing them to overheat faster.
After this, many of the Earth Beasts are destroyed covering the area with a lot of dust making it difficult for my precision while the clones begin to get closer and closer using their own bodies as meat shields.
At that moment, an Earth Dragon along with his rider crashes hard into the ground crushing some unlucky clones as Twice celebrates. "The reign of the Dragon King has come to an end!" Twice exclaims excitedly, so the air battle must be coming to an end.
"Only a few more meters!" A group of clones exclaims in unison as they are riddled with air bullets as more clones spawn instantly replacing the fallen clones, thus protecting the clones behind.
I am very curious at the moment, curious to know the true purpose of this strange desperate attack while I keep exclaiming and swinging my imaginary submachine gun with my fingertips. I wonder what kind of surprise they have in store to try to stop me.
"So much chaos and destruction…" The clones snarl in unison, piling up and getting riddled with air bullets. However, my little air cannons stop abruptly due to overheating... Time really flies when you're having fun.
Immediately afterward, the remaining Earth Beasts quickly close the distance and self-destruct upon colliding with Rover's paws, scattering lots of dust and small bits of earth everywhere.
This... This doesn't make sense...
"…All this for a little boy." All the clones grunt in unison, stopping a few feet away from us. It was then that my eyes widened in surprise as I made out one of them dripping with blood. "It is unacceptable!" He exclaims before all the clones immediately dissipate except for him.
This only means one thing... He is the original, he was among them all this time... I thought the original was hiding among the trees watching everything from a distance with Pixie-Bob.
He's stupid?! He could have died and ruined my plans!
However, at that moment and having dispelled all his clones, Ectoplasm spawns a titanic clone right in front of him before letting out a mouthful of blood and falling to his knees as a result of multiple wounds that he failed to dodge.
Then, many curious things began to happen, completely capturing my attention.
All the land beasts collapsed at the same time except for one gargoyle, which flew up and grabbed the wounded Ectoplasm in his claws, pulling him away from us as dust spreads all over the place.
After this, the ground began to shake strongly causing many cracks around us before the titanic clone of Ectoplasm roared loudly and approached his gigantic mouth directly towards me trying to catch me.
"That will not work." I snort, as my pup makes a quick defensive move and easily intercepts the attack aimed at me, sinking his sharp teeth into Titan Ectoplasm's neck before smashing him to the ground.
I was expecting something more elaborate, anyway, I'm done having fun here, so I'll resume my escape again and try to avoid getting involved in unnecessary combat. I can't afford to continue underestimating my opponents, I don't want to make the same cliché mistake that villains make in movies and anime… Idiots.
"Rover, it's time to get out of..." That is all I can say before being abruptly interrupted by a loud scream from the gigantic clone on the ground.
"Now!" Titan Ectoplasm exclaims with all his might causing his voice to be heard for miles before dissipating in a huge mass of smoke, causing my eyes to widen.
Immediately after, dozens of thick roots emerge from cracks in the ground and quickly wrap around Rover's paws immobilizing him momentarily as huge walls of packed earth slowly rise from the ground beginning to form a huge dome of earth around us.
Wow! How unpredictable and exciting!
"What is happening?!" Twice exclaims in alarm, dropping the gamepad from him and extending both hands in front of him. Dabi x1! Dabi x2! I choose them!" Twice exclaims forming two Dabi clones while I analyze the situation in detail with a defiant smile on my face.
"Give me a target and I'll turn it into ashes." Both Dabi clones say in unison with crooked smiles as blue flames begin to cover their hands before pieces of wood camouflaged by the smoke and dust that cover the entire area mercilessly impale both clones. This instantly dispels both clones before a huge piece of wood takes Twice by surprise, hitting him behind the head and knocking him unconscious as the roots quickly wrap around his body.
At this, a chainsaw unfolds from my pack and balances over me protectively as a shiver runs down my spine and my heart begins to pound. Twice has been defeated and immobilized… I can't let him get captured!
"You seemed to be having fun just now, brat!" A very annoyed voice exclaims, camouflaged in the dust and smoke as the roots holding Twice up suspend him in the air before several roots emerge from the dust right in front of me and plunge towards me. This causes my powerful chainsaw to swing over me and cut any roots or pieces of wood that try to get close to me into many pieces as my robotic tentacles also emerge from my backpack.
As this happens, the huge dome of earth around us is almost complete, whereupon my slippery opponent now carries Twice on his shoulders and proceeds to quickly retreat by swinging through the air with the help of his roots.
Cunning heroes, they decided to use the Earth Beasts and clones to impair our visibility with dust and smoke, which would eventually create the opening they needed to briefly immobilize Rover and capture Twice. It was pretty smart not to go after me in the first place.
Divide and conquer… Hah! I won't let my guard down again! I'll rescue you, Twice!
Then, I clenched my fists tightly as a tense smile spread across my face. Ectoplasm, Pixie-Bob, and now… "Kamui Woods!!!" I exclaimed cruelly at the top of my lungs as I sent one of my robotic tentacles hurtling toward him.
However, immediately afterward, the earthen dome was completed, ripping the robotic tentacle that was sent after Kamui Woods in half and trapping me and Rover inside as my breathing becomes erratic before my laughter echoes through the darkness.
Now... Now I'm a little angry.

And from what I can see, I'm not the only one angry, as a mighty roar shakes the whole place as bolts of red begin to swirl around Rover.
"Rover… Dessert time." I whisper cruelly licking my lips.
