Chapter 41: Chapter 41: Final Exam (3)

{3rd Person POV}
Looking at Saiba and Tokoyami, Ectoplasm said "Before Aizawa come here I'll tell you what the test is. The time limit is 30 minutes, yours will only start after all the other exams have ended." Showing two handcuffs to the two students in front of him Ectoplasm continued "Your win condition is either to pin these handcuffs on me or Aizawa, or alternatively for either one of you to escape from this stage. Yes, you don't have to confront us to pass the test, but this time around the conditions of the test will be extremely close to an actual battle. So please think of us as villains in the flesh. Suppose you have come across a villain, if you can fight and win, then that's fine. That being said, if the gap in power is too big then it's wiser to run and call for backup."
"This is a clearly disadvantageous situation for us, as our teachers and also as Pro Heroes you have experience." Tokoyami said, on the other hand Saiba looked bored.
Ectoplasm did notice that but he didn't comment on it, and he answered Tokoyami ``You are right, but we commissioned the department of support and had them make us this." He showed wristband-like things to Saiba and Tokoyami.
Seeing that, Saiba said "That's made by Mei right?"
"Yes, Mei Hatsume designed this. How did you know?" Ectoplasm asked.
Shrugging, Saiba said "I saw a prototype made by her. It was heavy."
"Yes, these are super compressor wights. We will set the weights equal to our body weight. They are the handicaps." Ectoplasm said.
"To make us consider fighting you two." Saiba said.
"Essentially, yes, that's what these are for." Ectoplasm confirmed.
After the explanation, they waited for Aizawa to finish his test with Todoroki and Yaoyorozu.
Saiba looked at Tokoyami and gestured to him to come with him. Tokoyami followed Saiba and they stood some distance away from Ectoplasm.
"I think that Aizawa sensei will be coming after me and Ectoplasm after you. I'll be honest with you, you're weak in close quarter combat, so he will try to overwhelm you with his clones. As for me, I'm sure that Aizawa will erase my quirk and engage in cqc with me. My suggestion is we handcuff Aizawa because we won't know where the original Ectoplasm is."
"Will it be alright? Won't Aizawa sensei erase Dark Shadow?" Tokoyami said.
"From what I saw during the U.S.J, he can't erase mutant quirks. Even if he can then we will have to improvise." Saiba said.
[The first team to clear the exam, team Todoroki/Yaoyorozu]
"Ah.. So Aizawa sensei will be here any minute now. Let's do our best." Saiba told Tokoyami.
"Sure, let's do our best." Tokoyami agreed.
A couple of minutes later, Aizawa came to the testing site of Saiba and Tokoyami.
Looking at both the students, Aizawa said "We will begin now."
Without delay, Aizawa and Ectoplasm used their quirk. Aizawa used his erasure quirk on Saiba and Ectoplasm made thirty clones of himself and sent half towards Saiba and the other half towards Tokoyami.
Saiba felt the absorption of the sunlight being stopped, so he thought 'Well, it's time to dish out the things I learned.'
Saiba looked at Tokoyami and said "As I have said, try to take on Aizawa sensei first."
Tokoyami nodded at Saiba and called out his partner "Dark Shadow, let's go."
"Aye aye." Dark Shadow replied as he came out of Tokoyami.
"Not on my watch." The fifteen clones of Ectoplasm rushed towards Tokoyami saying that simultaneously and the rest rushed towards Saiba.
As the first clone reached Saiba, he dodged the punch from the first one and the kick from the second one and he punched the third one square in its stomach, destroying it in an instant.
Seeing that, the original Ectoplasm asked Aizawa who was standing next to him "I thought you erased his quirk?"
"I did. That is his normal physical capabilities. It looks like he used his quirk in an effective way than we know and strengthened himself to an enhanced level." Aizawa replied while keeping his quirk active on Saiba.
Tokoyami on the other hand made sure to keep the clones at bay, and he was only partially successful.
Seeing that, Saiba maneuvered himself towards Tokoyami skilfully and started to synchronize with the attacks of Tokoyami. As Saiba neared Tokoyami, he told him "Keep them at the bay, and I'll take care of the strays."
"Alright!" Tokoyami agreed as he was struggling a second before thanks to the clones.
With they're synchronized attack pattern, where Tokoyami kept the clones at bay and Saiba eliminated the stray clones that got past the blockage of Dark Shadow.
Suddenly, Saiba felt he was absorbing the ambient energy again, so he called out "Tokoyami!"
Without a delay, Tokoyami sent Dark Shadow towards Saiba. And Saiba in a timely manner, got hold of Dark Shadow and jumped to the upper floor dragging Tokoyami with him.
Seeing that, Ectoplasm said "It's impressive. He saw the gap and took action."
"Yeah." Aizawa agreed, as that gap was only due to him having to blink once. Aizawa also noticed something and thought to himself 'He has learned martial arts, and it's mixed martial arts to the boot. I have to be careful with him when facing one on one, because even without his quirk, he's stronger than a normal human being. It must be how differently he used his quirk.' Shaking those thoughts from his head for now, he said "Let's go to the exit. They'll head there."
Both the teachers moved from there and simultaneously, Saiba and Tokoyami moved towards the exit as fast as possible.
When the exit was in their sight, Saiba decided to jump towards it to finish the exam. But, just as he was about to jump with Dark Shadow and Tokoyami, a piece of cloth wrapped around his waist. Seeing that he said "Oh great."
With a tug from Aizawa, the cloth brought Saiba right in front of Aizawa. Looking at Saiba, Aizawa said "You could have resisted my pull with your strength. Why didn't you?"
"This test is to make me understand that I'm nothing without the overpowered quirk of mine." Saiba said.
"That is true. But, that doesn't explain why you didn't resist." Aizawa asked.
"I want to know too, what will happen when I lose my quirk and how I'll fare against an experienced person." Saiba replied with a smile on his face.
Shaking his head, Aizawa shouted "Attack!!"
With Aizawa, twenty clones of Ectoplasm charged towards Saiba simultaneously. At the same time in the background, Ectoplasm and ten clones rushed at Tokoyami.
Dodging the kicks from the clones, keeping an eye on the scarf of Aizawa, Saiba danced around the battlefield while punching some clones and disabling them.
Tokoyami kept his cool and made sure that Ectoplasm and his clones didn't get the chance to come past Dark Shadow.
Within a couple of seconds, both Saiba and Tokoyami reached near each other with their backs. When there was only a meter of distance between them, Saiba shouted "Tokoyami!"
"Alright! Dark Shadow now!" As soon as Tokoyami gave the signal to Dark Shadow, it went towards Saiba and covered him from Aizawa.
With that window of opportunity, Saiba blitzed towards Ectoplasm through his multiple clones, and with Dark Shadow as a shield, Tokoyami charged at Aizawa.
As soon as Saiba reached Ectoplasm, he punched towards the stomach which was easily dodged by the Pro, but doing so he exposed his legs. Saiba took hold of his leg and chuffed Ectoplasm.
On the other side, Tokoyami did his best to subdue Aizawa and got his ankles cuffed under the cover of Dark Shadow.
