Chapter 20: A Tyrant!!!

"A separate contract?" Sophie was bewildered by his statement.

"Yes. A separate contract," Junwei said, and asked her to sit on the office couch. He walked to the working desk while she settled on the couch. After ten minutes, Junwei stood up from the swivel chair and took out a print of the contract that he had just typed.

He took a seat across from her and placed the sample contract in the middle of the sofa table. "These are some of the terms which I would like to include in a contract with you. The lawyer will prepare the formal contract by the evening. Before that, check these clauses," he briefed her.

Sophie picked it up and found that he had typed around fifty clauses.

"I don't agree with more than half of the terms that you've mentioned here," Sophie stated when Junwei asked her to explain.

"Why should I wear plain clothes? I am not working for your company. I am an actress, and my fashion changes on a daily basis. You need to remove this term from here," Sophie said. She reached into her handbag for an eyeliner and crossed the 7th term.

"Wait! You cannot come in such a dress. You need to keep the ethics of the company in mind," Junwei told her.

"I don't work for your company. I will wear whatever I want to," Sophie argued. "And what's wrong with this dress?" She mumbled and crossed her arms across her chest.

"Nothing is wrong with this dress, but it's not made for working in a company like mine. At least maintain the dress code etiquette when you visit this place. You can come in such outfits to the studio, but not here," Junwei stated.

"If you cannot agree to it, then let's terminate the contract that you signed with my grandpa. The Board of Members, including me, can oppose the decision to have you as the ambassador," Junwei threatened her.

Sophie's lips twitched, and she agreed with him. She realized that she had already lost to him in one clause.

"I don't like the 13th, 15th, 21st..." Sophie marked a cross in front of 40 more terms.

"You want me to not personally contact you. I am not dying to talk to you!" She loudly said.

Lie! She wanted to talk to him every day after work, but only if he would unblock her.

"Unblock my number. This is so wrong. In the case of emergencies, we may have to contact each other You are acting as a tyrant by including such harsh terms," she complained while glaring at him.

"And this twenty-first clause is ridiculous. Why do I have to leave my phone with my manager when talking to you in private?" She knitted her brows.

"Because you will shamelessly take my pictures. I want to protect my privacy. I have even mentioned there that I will also not carry my phone with me," Junwei said, and pointed his finger ahead of 21st clause.

"What did you say?" Sophie chuckled. "I took only one picture with you and then I deleted it. You want me to talk with you privately without my phone with me. I don't agree to it." She was unable to understand his logic.

"Don't you know a woman should always keep her phone with her?" She retorted back at him.

"Do you think I want to do something to you if you will talk privately with me? Don't worry. Your manager will be present next to you all the time. However, your phones will be submitted at my secretary's desk," he affirmed.

Sophie found herself agreeing to his conditions somehow.

No!

She would not let that happen.

"You cannot take my right to have the phone with me," she sternly said.

"Let's move to the next term, which is ridiculous. Why should I have to be five metres away from you. I don't have any contagious disease which will spread to you if I stand in front of you," Sophie complained. She continued to speak while Junwei silently listened to her.

After twenty minutes, when she stopped, Junwei started to explain to her.

"None of the conditions are ridiculous. You are the one who forced me to write in such terms. As I said earlier, if you cannot agree to all such terms, then the deal is off," Junwei said in the most simple words.

"Wait! You cannot decide to put this deal off. I will tell Grandpa Yu if you try to force those ridiculous clauses on me and then make me sign a contract with you," Sophie said, twitching her lips in annoyance.

"He's not your grandfather," Junwei said.

"He is!" Sophie said, and stood up. "I am leaving. You wasted my time, and my mood," Sophie muttered.

Junwei got irked to hear her statement. He also got up and blocked her way. "You wasted my time, not me," he said.

"Stay away, 50 metres away from me. How could you forget the term that you wrote in the sample contract?" She taunted him, and he gritted his teeth.

She walked past him, but then returned to her desk. She picked up the marker when Junwei asked her what she was doing. He approached her after noticing her writing something over the glass over the table. Shock prevailed his face as he read what she wrote.

"Junwei is a tyrant and a joker!!!" She put the marker down and walked away while Junwei clenched his fist tightly. He walked after her.

"Stop right there! Clean the table before you go," Junwei shouted at her. He had enough of her nonsense.

Sophie turned to look at him. "The CEO should not waste his precious time getting angry at me," she remarked, and then she stuck her tongue out to tease him.

She promptly turned and ran away. She got into the elevator and it closed.

Junwei chuckled to see that. He tried to communicate with her, but she was an impossible case for him. He scrunched his brows and went back to his office.

He dialed his grandfather's number and told him that he was cancelling the contract with Sophie.

"Grandpa has to choose between me and that unsophisticated, insolent woman!" He said it in anger and hung up the call.
