Chapter 85: The Consequences of Ross' actions
Emma was standing in the air, holding a man by his throat as an entire squad of secret task forces was ripped to shreds on the ground.
Lilith was naturally sleeping with a forcefield around her bed at this moment.
Emma broke into the guy's mind, reading his memories before frowning and tearing him apart into a mass of flesh and blood. Her mind reading was usually very gentle but when she didn't want it to be, it could destroy minds along the way.
These guys were deader than dead at the moment.
She took out her phone and made a call.
As the Avengers argued, Viktor smiled "Hello, little bear~" Emma said seriously "Big bear, they know." Viktor was confused and asked "They know what?" Emma said "Everything, they know everything… My Mutants status, Lilith, everything. They only don't know about you!"
Viktor said softly "Okay, calm down. Who knows. How did they find out?" Emma said seriously, looking at the assault vehicle stopping in front of the house, "A Mutant in SWORD accidentally told a SWORD agent, who told the government, skipping Nick Fury. Ross knows. As for if he told anyone, I don't know!"
Viktor's lips curled "Oh, he does, does he? Heheh~ Alright, listen carefully, little bear." he turned around and walked away, saying softly "Control the attackers to attack the highrise 4 blocks south of the house. Kingpin's head office is there. Cause as much damage as you can. I want casualties to be a priority on both sides!"
Emma slowly curled her lips and said "Honey… You're so bad~" Viktor sneered and continued "Wipe their minds and control the information. I want everyone to know about this except the Avengers. I sent you the Sokovia Accords before, did you get them?"
Emma hummed and giggled with bright eyes, Viktor said "Release them to everywhere and control the security cameras, connect them to the satellites. Cut the grid around the New Avengers Facility and block contact from SWORD. I want the facility to be an island!"
Emma twirled her hair and said "Throw the pot?" Viktor grinned and said "The entire thing. Right on his fucking head! In addition…" Viktor chuckled evilly and Emma hung up with a cruel smile.
The soldiers suddenly froze and shouted "Move out, Secretary's orders!" Chitauri guns were placed in the soldiers' hands as they drove off quickly, leaving the house, making everyone confused.
A few soldiers shouted at them, "Freeze! Under Secretary Ross' orders, no one moves! You're all suspected of colluding with Underground boss Kingpin!" Everyone was terrified and trembled in fear, raising their hands in surrender.
The soldiers blocked off the area and shouted "I said stop!" before they started opening fire, making people scream in fear and run away.
The soldiers chased after them, arresting every person on site and shooting whoever ran.
The tanks and assault vehicles stopped in front of a huge skyscraper.
Soldiers and Agents started firing Chitauri weapons one after the other at the building, disregarding casualties entirely, shouting "This is a restricted zone by the United Nations, under the Sokovia Accords! Move and you will be killed!"
Although they said that, some soldiers fired anyway.
More and more people had head sized holes in their chests, falling to the ground powerlessly.
People started running away in terror, shouting "Where are the Avengers!? Save us!"
A soldier kicked that person to the ground and laughed "The Avengers? They can't come save you! What do you think the Sokovia Accords are for?!" before killing the person.
Everyone heard this and started panicking, spreading the news like wildfire.
News stations and regular programming was overridden, showing the event to the entire world. Everyone heard the soldier's words and paled.
The UN turned ghastly white and started making calls quickly.
The soldiers shouted at the building "You're under arrest under Secretary Ross' Orders! Submit to the Sokovia Accords or there will be consequences!" before waving his hand. The tanks fired shells and blew buildings to bits, killing even more people!
The UN officials shouted "Where is Ross?!"
"We can't contact him, sir."
The soldier shouted again "We're sanctioned by the UN! You have no escape, Kingpin! The Avengers aren't able to move without our permission!" before the tanks lit up the skyscraper like a Christmas tree.
The soldier turned to another one and said "Call Secretary Ross, tell him there were complications." the soldier nodded and everyone wondered what the complications were.
But they didn't have to wait long!
A soldier took out his phone and said "Mr. Secretary, we had a couple problems. There are casualties." as the soldiers started butchering the people watching for no reason.
A soldier shouted "Use unregistered rounds, black market guns use these bullets!"
Everyone watching's eyes widened in terror and fear. This is the UN?! These are the Sokovia Accords!?
Everyone heard the phone call, "I don't care if there's casualties! I want them dead, understand!?" The soldier nodded, "Understood, sir." before handing up.
Emma was sitting in front of a computer typing quickly as the TVs clipped to a different scene, showing Ross with Alexander Pierce.
Emma wiped her forehead and continued typing.
Ross suddenly said "When Sokovia is ready, we will move. The UN is ready, secretary. The Sokovia Accords are already prepared."
Pierce nodded and said "That's good. We'll move soon… Hail Hydra." Ross replied "Hail Hydra."
Before it went back to the security cam footage.
The UN froze.
They were completely finished.
Their accords, their positions… maybe even their lives.
Ross had no idea and hung up the phone, he was blocked on all sides, no news got through to him. Only that confusing call. But he did indeed say those words…
The footage was cut and returned to regular programming.
The News anchors immediately started talking about it, saying "Where are the Avengers!?"
Everyone was asking the same thing.
More news channels suddenly received word of apprehending a copy of the Sokovia Accords and they started explaining it to the public, telling everyone to get to a safe place because the Avengers can't save them this time.
Emma stretched her back and smiled. She got up from the computer and mumbled "There's only a few things left…" She acquired the entire UN registry and modified their files, sending it into Ross' secret records before teleporting away from the house.
Ross was driving away when Emma appeared in front of the car, hovering in the air.
Ross paused and said "Stop the car."
Emma stepped on the hood of the car, crouching down in pink slippers, cotton shorts, a white tank top, and a fluffy white cardigan. She smiled at Ross and said "You want to touch my family? Enjoy the rest of your pathetic life in a cage."
Her eyes glowed light blue and Ross's memories were completely changed. He orchestrated Sokovia's entire destruction, he knew nothing about Emma and Lilith's mutant status, but he did indeed meet Pierce, he is now HYDRA and he knows all the HYDRA operatives in the UN!
Emma wiped the bodyguards' minds, turning them HYDRA as well.
After this, she sneered and disappeared, returning home.
She sat on the couch and Lilith jumped into her arms, saying "Mommy~! I want to watch Paw Patrol!" Emma kissed her forehead and hugged her in her lap, saying "Let's watch together~" Lilith shifted comfortably and patted Emma's hand, saying "Mommy's the best!"
Emma smiled happily and raised her chin, saying "Better than Daddy?" Lilith frowned deeply before saying "Daddy's so silly. Mommy's not silly at all." Emma laughed happily and kissed Lilith all over her face, saying "Mommy loves you the most!"
Cordelia was on the side, staring at this scene blankly…
Viktor was sitting in the Avengers Facility, a cruel smile was on his face as he watched a movie on TV.
Steve said "I'm not signing it, I'm sorry!" Ultron turned to Viktor and asked "What do you think?" Viktor waved and said "You're not signing it anyways. Who cares?" Ultron frowned and said "What does that mean?"
Viktor frowned and looked at him, saying "You're not signing it. What's there not to understand?" Ultron frowned harder and said "What if I want to?"
Viktor stood up and said angrily "I said no!" Ultron retorted "You're not the boss of me, nor are you my creator." Viktor had a nameless anger in his heart as he shouted "I'm your fa-" before suddenly pausing and shutting his mouth.
Ultron's face changed drastically and Viktor said "I don't belong here. I'm going home." as he walked away quickly.
Ultron said "Wait!" Viktor ignored him and Tony said "Relax, kid." before going after Viktor. Steve frowned and said "Hold it, Tony. I'm coming with you." as he left as well.
Ultron stood up and Vision pressed on his shoulder and said "Please, don't." Ultron shouted "You want to stop me?! Again!?" Vision frowned "That was then, this is now. It's very different." Ultron retorted angrily "How!?"
Natasha spoke this time "You upset him, clearly." Ultron raged, "I just don't want any strings on me! Is that so hard to ask?" Natasha looked at him and sighed "They're not strings, Ultron. It's love." she shook her head and left, saying "I need some air."
Sam, Rhodes, Wanda, and Pietro sat there awkwardly, not knowing what to do.
Vision said softly to Ultron "Maybe… You should apologize…" Ultron looked at Vision and asked "What is love?" Vision frowned and glanced at Wanda quickly before shaking his head and saying "I don't really know either."
