Chapter 18: Gains
Kimi woke up the next day and she went to her back garden to go over her gains from the night before after she completed her usual beauty treatments of the Feebas.
She threw out her Pokéballs to prepare for any problems which let her current team appear by her side.
Growlithe, Eevee, Poliwag, Horsea, Shellder and Krabby appeared ready and alert as she tossed out the first Pokéball which came from the spoils of war from the night before.
Scyther appeared and saw its new master but instead of being obedient, it showed a murderous look in its eyes. "Scyther!"
Right away it tried to attack and kill Kimi but she was prepared as she took up a little distance from those battling. "It seems that this one really was a trap but perhaps many of them were. Growlithe bite it! Good now move and dodge its attacks!"
Although there was a clear level difference between them, Growlithe displayed its sharp reactions and teamwork with Kimi as it quickly overwhelmed it.
The Scyther looked very weak and was held down by Growlithe so Kimi came closer to an acceptable range where she was still safe. "From now on I am your new master and you will only follow me from now on. Either you will follow me or you will have to learn the hard way. Your previous masters are no longer in the world of the living so do not expect them to be coming for to save you or take you back."
Instead of showing despair, Scyther looked at her with wide eyes full of shock. "Scyther!"
Kimi could detect Scyther's feelings at that moment she knew how it was feeling. "Hmm.. it seems that you were not too close to them. So they must have forced you to do many things and that is why you are like this. I am your new master now and although I may not treat you as they have, I may ask some things of you which you may not be comfortable with. I hope that you can become a valuable addition to the team which has Grimer in it."
Scyther had high speed and could fly so it could easily play the role as an assassin and made up for Grimer's weaknesses.
Scyther's evolution path was known by Kimi so she already had a plan in mind on how to train it since she had the Metal Coat which she gained from the illegal market at a cheap price.
While some items were not yet identified by name or their use and looked useless to most people, Kimi knew of their true worth and she had taken the opportunity to obtain some at an extremely low price far below its original worth.
Scyther showed some hesitation as it stopped struggling to free itself then looked towards Kimi seriously as if accepting its fate. "Scyther!"
Kimi smiled and pointed the Pokéball towards it. "Return."
Scyther returned and Kimi put the Pokéball aside. "I will put some sprays on those that get injured, I cannot possibly take these to the Pokémon Centre."
One after another different Pokémon appeared as she summoned one at a time and let her Pokémon fight them.
Eevee defeated a Cubone, Tangela and Nidoran while Tauros, Kangaskhan, Pinser and Ryhorn were defeated by Growlithe but it took a lot of effort to subdue them one after another.
It was helpful that the others were there to offer aid and support if it was needed so Eevee and Growlithe had grown more confident in their battles.
The bonds between Kimi, Growlithe and Eevee were growing stronger with every passing day to the point that the others within her team were growing a little jealous.
Eevee and Growlithe celebrated their victories by jumping into the arms of Kimi and getting more affection from her.
Kimi released the subdued Pokémon one after another and took note of the levels of each of them while she sprayed the healing spray on their wounds. "Scyther was level 23 while the rest were in between 18 and 20. Among them the ones that could probably be used for the other team would be Cubone and Ryhorn who both have light yellow talents. The others will probably help me for now but I still need to sell the ones I do not intend to keep."
Although she considered accepting Cubone and Ryhorn into the dark team since they were illegally owned Pokémon, they did not really fit the sneaky, underhanded or stealthy nature of the team.
Grimer had poison and acted as a wall of protection, Scyther had its speed so it could be used to finish fights quickly, Cubone may be a decent addition since it had some ranged abilities with its club and some fighting abilities but it could easily be replaced by something else.
Ryhorn would also evolve and become much bigger than what it already was so it did not fit in with what she needed from her other team.
The only other options besides selling the illegally obtained Pokémon was to switch them over to an official Pokéball and register them to her official team, trade or sell them.
Kimi then later went back to her computer to check the forums and her messages from her contacts which had more new responses which made her very happy.
[New Messages: Hey, I have caught more Feebas! Are you still looking to trade? There is also a strange looking one among them so I do not know if you want it too? If you do then you may have to give me a higher price than the others since it looks very unique. You are the only person that I know who collects these so I thought of you first.]
Kimi looked at the message and she was instantly intrigued. "He must either mean that the Feebas has a Prism Scale already on it which will satisfy the qualifications to evolve more than others but could it be… it couldn't be right? I am not usually that lucky."
There would be occasionally a Feebas which had a Prism Scale attached to it which meant that it would have a higher chance of becoming a Milotic so it saved a lot of time, effort and money to raise it rather than the others which did not have one.
Ever since her return to the past, Kimi had encountered a couple of things already which had allowed her to make great gains beyond what she achieved in her first life in the Pokémon world.
Her use of the forums had helped her a lot but so did her two previous encounters with criminals who wished to do her harm or steal from her because she gained a much bigger and higher levelled than her current main choices.
Many could be sold or traded while others were useful in other ways but she still lacked useful ones which could be traded with the person she was talking to on the forums because he was only interested in water types.
She types out her reply as 'going fishing so keep them for me and do not send them to others' then left the house with her fishing rod and other gear.
After deciding to change up her lineup and switching the Pokéballs she was using, Kimi had a new main team which was made up of Growlithe, Eevee, Poliwag, Tangela, Ryhorn and Cubone.
Her day was spent catching many water types as her new team compilation allowed her to make up for some of Growlithe and Eevee's weaknesses.
Due to having higher levels of Pokemon in the level twenty range, Kimi did not hold back from hooking and pulling in some water types which were a similar level as she could fairly sense how strong their life force was which made it easier to determine what to catch and what not to catch.
Through many battles during the day, Growlithe had levelled up along with Eevee and Poliwag so Kimi returned home in high spirits and then proceeded to message her friend from the forums.
