Chapter 4: This Changes Things

Fuyuki City,

Luke POV,

Currently a single young man could be seen standing atop the wall of a fairly tall building. He had a small smile on his face but otherwise was extremely calm. This was of course, Luke. He had a cheat! That was really amazing, this 'cheat' so far as he saw was something really OP too, that made him even happier but that wasn't all, it was apparently made out of his own willpower during transmigration making him even more happier.

He looked up with a curious look on his face, this should work right? In the next instant, he was free falling from the sky, the wind blowing in his face. "This rocks!" he shouted in excitement adopting a more appropriate posture. The teleportation was instantaneous and he only needed to think about a place to go there, no complicated bullshit at all.

He disappeared and appeared somewhere else in the sky, a grin on his face. Like that he kept disappearing and reappearing numerous times. What he was doing, was changing locations as soon as he reached one, he was testing this power of his and so far it didn't really have any limitations on it. "No mental fatigue." he said nodding to himself, completely ignoring the fact that he was free falling.

Once more reappearing on the building he had been initially standing on, he nodded with closed eyes, "It's good so far." using this teleportation hadn't left him with any uncomfortable feelings or anything, but then again, situations and conditions vary. Other than that he also noticed that this ability came to him as natural as breathing, almost like instinct.

That was a good point. He had probably gotten unwanted attention from his actions but he didn't really care about it so it was fine. This was an idiotic way of thinking, especially in a world where he could be locked up for experimentation because of it, he knew that too but it was his way of thinking, he wasn't changing it anytime soon either.

He was no gullible kid, changes in the personalities of adults are difficult to bring about, that much should be common sense. He looked around curiously looking for a traditional temple atop a hill, Ryuudou Temple should technically be in the middle of Fuyuki City, locating it shouldn't be that hard honestly.

"There." he said noticing the hill in the distance, it was the only hill in the area and so it should be the place he wanted to go to, if not, then he could check for other hills. One other thing he needed was some kind of dictionary, not being able to talk to the people would hinder him quite a bit.

He also needed to gather power, he was apart from his unusual teleportation power, a complete human. That wasn't good enough, it didn't even put him at an insect's level in front of the actual powers of this world. He didn't like that, not one bit. He WANTED power so that he could, if necessary, smack the shit out of said powers. No further justification was necessary...at least not for him. He wanted it so he would get it...himself!

He slightly hummed and with his hands in his pockets, took a step forward, appearing at the next building over. This process repeated and soon with each single step he was changing buildings with a bland look on his face, although his eyes seemed to be shining in excitement. There was also the fact that his eyes had probably developed into some form of Mystic Eyes.

Why you ask? Well Mystic Eyes came about as a result of mutation of the Magic Circuits near the eyes, these mutations could be there by birth or they could come about as a result of certain experiences. This body of his, was by all means, one constructed according to the rules of this world even though he himself was unaware of this fact.

Simply the fact that he had enough willpower to forcefully reject death and transmigrate was a testament to his potential. He, as a result, had the best physical and spiritual qualities the human body could possibly have, constructed within the rules of the world keeping it's humans as a standard. A boon of transmigration if you would. But enough of that, what he did know was that he had 'seen' Death, he did die once after all. (A/N: More on this in Auxiliary Chapter.)

That was more than enough of an experience which could result in the formation of said eyes. Mystic Eyes are a form of ancient magecraft that allows a person to influence the world with their eyesight alone and in some cases, they are powerful enough to kill servants. With Shiki Ryougi being the best example in this case, possessing eyes capable of allegedly killing the "Gods" themselves.

But he digressed, bottom line is, he had no way of accessing them without activating his Magic Circuits or them manifesting by themselves. If they were more buff oriented like Death Perception or Life Perception then all was good. But if they were something like Petrification or Distortion, then bye bye entire area. He didn't really give a flying fuck about that though.

Noticing that during his thoughts, he had arrived at the base of the hill. He shook his head bringing himself out of his thoughts and cleared his throat recollecting himself. Getting too absorbed in his thoughts wasn't good, especially since it didn't really matter much in his current situation because he couldn't do shit.

He calmly looked at the trees on either side of the path, leaves were lying here and there and there were stairs leading upwards. He started walking up looking around attentively, he wanted to see if Souichirou Kuzuki had already contracted with the Caster of Fate Stay Night or if the situation was something else entirely.

Once he had climbed the stairs, he couldn't help but whistle in awe and appreciation. This temple was really something. Not only was it quite large, it also had a path made of fully paved marble, beautiful flowers could be seen beside said path. The temple itself comprised three structures from the front, a large central temple and two similar but smaller buildings at each side. Each building was made of fine furnished wood.

He walked up to the main door and looked at the worshiping area in curiosity, he never really was one for religion and had always fully believed in relying solely on himself for anything and everything. "Neat." he remarked looking at the cleanliness of the place, the people here were taking good care of it.

"What might you want, friend?" a masculine voice asked prompting him to turn around slightly surprised, he hadn't noticed the person standing there. It was a masculine man of average height, he had a broad build, dark blue hair and his eyes were so narrow, it seemed as if he had them closed. Luke slightly smiled, you don't get to see someone like that on Earth now do you?

"Luke Dietrich." he said , extending his hand, introductions were necessary for a talk between men! "Reikan Ryuudou." the man replied, giving his hand a firm shake, a smile plastered on his face, this man seemed like a nice person. "I see." Luke nodded, this was Reikan Ryuudou, the son of this Temple's head, a very responsible and upright man, other information was unnecessary.

Reikan was slightly surprised seeing the foreigner speak English instead of Japanese at a temple but then simply smiled, what else was he supposed to expect from a foreigner? "So how may I help you?" he asked in English this time, he was a college graduate and as such knew how to speak English. People aren't dumb as anime makes them out to be.

He looked Luke up and down appraising him, this man had this really..how to describe it...'wild' aura about him. He felt like he would have to fight at any moment and as a martial artist that slightly ignited his fighting spirit. "Is there a robed woman staying here?" Luke went straight to the point, he didn't believe in using underhanded methods like...manipulation..ugh. That was for cowards!

"No. Not one I know of." Reikan replied not giving it a second thought, the residents of Ryuudou Temple generally frowned on having women stay over so it was really unlikely. "Hmm...thanks." Luke nodded, this..changed things. Either the Holy Grail War hadn't started or this was a different timeline entirely.

Fate really was complicated, one factor could change everything.

Reikan looked at the foreigner for a few moments before bowing his head, he just couldn't hold back anymore! There was something about this man, that made him want to, made him want to! (A/N: Have sex with him?)

Ask him for a duel!

(A/N: Tch.Buzzkill.)

Luke raised his brow slightly confused, "What happened?" he asked looking at the man. "Might I ask you to have a duel with me?" he asked politely, slightly ashamed of himself, asking someone for a duel like that. But! As a martial artist, he had to! Luke looked at him surprised for a few moments before grinning, his hair seemingly turning wilder, "Of course." he replied, his face turning calm again.

"Then!" Reikan backed away slightly before getting into a stance, the first man to fall would lose. They would do it right here! In front of everyone.

Luke straightened up and tilted his head a bit to the side. That was all the stance he needed, raw power is more than enough! If this body was anywhere near his old then his raw strength was no joke. (A/N: Jokes on you, it's even higher.)

"Let us fight!" Reikan shouted announcing the start of their duel and immediately rushed forward. Luke slightly leaned forward with a grin on his face, and focused on the incoming opponent. As Reikan neared him, he looked up to see the grin and froze in place for but an instant, that however was enough.

A chop landed on his shoulder, the sheer strength behind the attack literally forcing the man to his knees. "Done." Luke said putting his hand back in his pocket, he was slightly surprised by his own strength and made a mental note of checking it in greater detail. Reikan's narrow eyes were wide open in sheer shock...just like that? He lost to a man like that? He, a martial artist who had practiced his craft for years?

This man was a goddamn monster!

Were his thoughts as he clenched his shoulder, wincing in pain but his eyes clearing showing that he now held a certain amount of respect for this man in front of him. "You alright?" Luke asked, extending his hand, fighters were respectable people! "Yes.." Reikan replied flinching, this hurt a lot. It felt like his shoulder had been fractured from that hit! But he asked for it so he couldn't complain.

Luke waved his hand and walked off, he had gotten what he came for so he didn't have anything more to do here now. He needed to find out which Fate he was in. Reikan looked at his departing back in respect as an old man hurriedly walked over to him, "What happened, Reikan?!" his father asked worriedly, his son was clearly hurt. Reikan shook his head, "Nothing Father. I just met someone interesting."

Luke who was now walking down the stairs stopped in place as he felt the air around him shift abnormally. "What're you doin' here? Who are ya?" an oddly Irish voice asked him roughly. Luke slowly turned around looking at the wooden staff pointed at his face with a smile on his face. "What am I doing here, eh?" he said looking at the cloaked figure, this....changed things.
