Chapter 36: 2-23: Homunculus

"You're a 'Homunculus'?!"

Homunculus, one of the six magnum opuses of Alchemy, second only to the mythical Philosopher's Stone. It was said to be the complete and functioning replica of a Human, sometimes even given its own identity and intelligence. In Verethragna Gloria, Homunculi were usually created and Summoned by Alchemists to assist in either research or combat, though they tend to be shoehorned to the former, due to their unstable state as "artificial lifeforms". Still, they were good enough to fill the numbers, especially if they were programmed efficiently by their creators.

Indeed, Homunculi were commonplace creatures, not to mention in the Magic-abundant Nit Magedom. But this was the first time Haruki saw one, and it was even quite the unique specimen, having the face, body and even identity of a Human Hero!

"What's going on here?" Even Raze looked confused, apparently out of the loop of Fleming's secret.

And we definitely know what will happen in the next chapter, lol.

This arc is wrapping up with the Chimeras - plus Fleming? - successfully recruited.
