Chapter 2: Chapter 02: The earliest dawn
------ few years back ------
"I do hope she comes out soon, I've got a football match to play this evening at dorm" watt said looking at his expensive watch, then frowned at his friend. They have waited for almost half an hour so he could meet his so-called dream girl
"Don't worry, she will be here any second now, I can perci..... I mean see her" he stuttered
"Another one of your many conquest isn't she" asked Leon with scorn in his voice
"Of course not, he frowned, am drop dead serious in getting into a stable relationship with her" he said then took a glance at the entrance of the classroom again impatiently
"Here she comes", watt said finally relieved, still angry at his friend stupidity, and wondering how he always ended up supporting him
Strahd took a deep breath, this was the first time he was approaching a human girl he was attracted to, since his many years of living
"Alright, he rolled up his sleeves, here goes nothing, wish me luck" he said then gave them a knowing wink and moved to approach her at the entrance of the hall.

Her slender face was alight with smile, her pale skin glistening, her blue eyes had a bored expression, and she had long dark hair with a beautiful slender figure. She stood at the entrance of the hall impatiently waiting for someone when he approached her and whistled irritatingly,
"Hi", he said and grinned showing his perfect set of teeth, she stared at him and rolled her eyes
[Ohh, not another useless human] she thought as she said nothing, hoping he would go away, but he just stood there grinning awkwardly at her
"I like you a lot" she glared at him, clearly offended
"You're silly and sick" She gets that frequently, as her kind were preety, she mumbled few words and look back at her friends
"Hurry up, would you" she shouted to her friends
"You're so preety..."
"Get lost would you!!" she's finally had enough as snapped under her breath
"Excuse me..."
"You heard me" her facial expressions became harsh as she walked away, two girls who had similar features followed her behind clutching their books nervously.

"Lightening Strahd, his friends who had been watching the whole scene closely approached him, don't sweat it" he said putting his arms around his shoulder with a half laugh on his face
"Yeah she probably didn't mean it" Leon said consoling him
Strahd didn't care about what his friends kept on blabbing, he was just surprised at her reaction, he didn't know humans acted this way, he had never met a situation when he felt so shallow or where he didn't get what he wants, he shuddered hard, his heart racing
"C'mon bro, lets get back to the dorm"

I've been here eight days now, and the next day I spend searching for a meal I swear am gonna rip out the intestines of those cranky roommates.
So this is what sacrificing is all about huh. Been sent down to this universe full of tasty humans with variety of nice looking flesh but not being to taste any it feels so fustrating. I thought as I hid in the dark tunnel.
It wasn't a full moon but I was really hoping to be strong and fast enough, because I was really hungry and the only meal those bastards knew how to make was their so-called sandwich and over cooked beef.
My gaze pierced a skinny man that walked out of the noisy bar
"Nice" I said as my long tongue wiped my lips, but instead my eyes darted to a plump lady that walked out from the same bar, I sniffed in with the thought to not be greedy but my tummy rumbled then I proceeded to follow the lady

The crescent moon still gave enough light in the city as I trailed her down, passing a small cluster of Houses, this side of town wasn't really developed, I kept on tracking her with her scent, not wanting to draw attention to myself.
I walked pass a group of young men who were lost in their drinking spree, using the dark night as my cover, I smirked unregretfully as I slipped into her house
"Who is there?" A voice asked shakingly from the corner of the house, I heard her race to turn on the light of the room, I sped to her and with a hand and no effort I picked her and threw her across the room, sending her crashing a table, I listened quietly outside the house hoping no one heard that.
As she struggled to get up with, I perceived it.., my favourite wine, she was bleeding, the room was dark so she couldn't see
"Don't even think about it" I knew that was what humans do when they were scared, they scream
"Do... don't hurt me please...wh...who are you?" She begged
I clicked my tongue and took in deep breaths "don't worry, it's not you, it's me" as she turned around slowly in the direction of my voice, I Jammed my claws into her face, she spat and splattered blood on my favourite shirt.
"Ohh, no, no, look what you've done now," I spoke to her half living body, ahh, whatever" I tasted her blood and all my senses came alive
my three inches fangs withdrew out, my eyes turned glistening blue, and i proceeded to enjoy my sumptuous meal.
------- At the females dormitory ------
"Gabriella, what a relief you're here, i didn't see you since last night, what happened are you alright?" A slender, preety looking girl approached her at the balcony her face aching with worry, Gabriella could hear her heart beat relax a little as her face relaxed.
She feigned a smile "am here, sorry I got you all worried"
"You love to be alone, you seem to want your personal space a lot, she looked at her neck, hey what's that" she asked pointing at the red mark on her neck
She touched her neck "err...is ermm red paint, I was at the art store last night" she said convincingly
"You sure it look dry and thick" Francis said frowning a little
Shit, Gabriella cursed and made a mental note to be cautious in the future "of course, don't bother your preety head, just forget it"
"Okay then, sky made some steak, you want some?" She asked
"Err... nope" she answered a little lost
"Why not?"
Gosh she was loosing her patience, she wasn't used to chatterbox "she might not prepare them they way I love mine"
"Really, and how's that?"
"Raw.."
"What!!"
"Err not really raw but not over cooked, you know what just forget it, just go in I'll eat later" Francis left her and she began wondering why humans irritated her so much, she could not wait to return back to her universe.
