Chapter 34: Chapter 34. He is lost.

Pragya's POV.

I started working in an embroidery shop with my husband. I don't know much about embroidery patterns. But I could manage the business, the financial part. When I was in the 21st century, I studied business administration. So it is easy for me to manage the company. When I started working at Feng's Embroidery Shop, I noticed that the employees of our company are not interested in it at all. So as a leader, my first task was to motivate them to work hard. And I asked Feng Leng to increase their salary so much.

"Leng, I think the employees' work interests are lacking. We have to do something to love what we do," I said. I always appreciate that he listens to what I have to say.

"What should we do? If they're not interested anymore, what can we do?" he said. "Let's replace them with a new workforce," he suggested.

But I refused. I knew we had to use the same workforce to do better.

"I refused. I could not accept anything less, Leng. It would only hurt us if we fired the current employees. It is difficult for us to hire new employees here. And what makes you think they aren't using their skills to slow down our business? Instead, I suggest we should encourage them," I said. Feng Leng cut me off impatiently.

"How?" he asked.

"Leave it to me. All I want from you is to raise their salary by a small amount. Don't worry. You won't lose by it," I assured him.

He agreed. "I trust you, Li. You know that right?" he said. I nodded.

Feng Leng is a kind man. And for me, he is a too protective and caring person. From the day we met, he has been a good friend and a faithful husband. I know he loves me with all his heart. I feel bad that I can't love him the way he does. Needless to say, he is also a good father to my son. I wish I fell in love with him. Yes, I always hope that I fell in love with Feng Leng. Every girl in the world deserves a husband like Feng Leng. But alas, I cannot love him. I have loved Zheng for more than ten years. I wonder at the strength of my love for Zheng.

Even our son is like him. Feng Dong amazes me every day. He is like his father. Super protective, loving, and controlling, just like his father. He is also prone to fencing practices. Although I wanted to educate him, my lie prevents me from doing so. When my husband or his family knows that I have fencing skills, there will be many questions. So I have to keep my passion to train my son to be a great warrior like his father. Feng Leng came to where I was. Me around the yellow river.

"What's in my wife's mind?" he said with a smile.

"It's nothing. I think about the last ten years. What would have happened to me if I didn't have you, Leng?" I said.

I wonder how we met. When I entered Yan State with Jing Ke's help, I suffered a lot to forget my past and start over. But I got him, Feng Leng. He made me forget everything and gave me a new life. I was happy with what he offered me and Dong.

Everyone in our village and our state doctor, Han Fei know that I gave birth to Dong early when I was in my seventh month. But the truth was that Dong was born healthily, after nine months of pregnancy. However, these people believed me without thinking. I owe him. I owe them so much.

"It happened, my love. You escaped them for good. Know that you started a new life. Your husband and family, your whole past is over now. We have a beautiful life here. Don't think too much. Love, life is too short to worry. Don't waste time thinking about something you no longer have the strength for.

"We live for today. That's what we have the right to do. Don't you think we should make ourselves and others happy? What do you think about giving Dong a little brother to take care of?"

His last words surprised me. Another child? No, it can't happen.

"My dear, we can't just have a baby. You know, this time is so hard, and besides, it's hard for me to get pregnant during this war. We must think carefully before making such decisions." I spoke about the reasons that came to my mind at the time. But fortunately, he accepted my idea.

"You have sense. Raising a child is a difficult task. So yes, we need to think about it carefully. But mom and grandma are happy when we do it," he commented. I smiled and we both went back to the embroidery shop.

AUTHOR'S POV.

It was night when the king and his troops reached the state of Yan. He told them to rest and went straight to the tent. He changed his armor and used scrubs. He was sitting on his mattress. He anticipated his journey to Han State. He remembered how lovely that expedition had been. Although he has led many expeditions and wars after that, they were not as exciting as his with Lady Pragya.

They talked about random things and then about getting together. She told him that it would be good if they involved people in some way. Then he smiled stupidly. He remembered her words;

"Can't we do without war? If we can convince people of our plan, they will vote and join without bloodshed and war," she said. He smiled alone like crazy, which was the way he laughed with her.

"Now it's joined, Pragya," he said to himself. Her optimistic ways of thinking made him change his mind.

"I hope to find you here, Pragya," he said softly again.

"What if she starts a new life? What if she married another man and started a new life?" the thought ran through his head. A terrible feeling ran through his veins. He became angry. His heart began to beat abnormally, faster than before.

"No way!" he answered himself rather loudly and firmly.

"No, Pragya cannot love anyone else as long as I am alive," he said.

The next day, under Cheng Gu, half of the army began to go to the northern part of the state, and the rest went to Jilin Bay, the eastern part of the state with the king. The army led by General Cheng Gu successfully defeated the rebel forces.

Feng Family Housekeeper Xi'er came running to the embroidery shop. Li aka Pragya was perplexed to see Xi'er like this.

"Xi'er, what happened? Why did you run?" she asked. She was in charge of the embroidery since Feng Leng was not there.

"Madam, I'm afraid I have no good news," she said. Pragya got worried hearing Xi'er's words.

"What's wrong, Xi'er? Is everything okay at home?" Pragya asked still stressed.

"Madam, he was in the kitchen with me. But suddenly, when I saw him around me, I realized that Dong was not with me. Mrs. Li, Dong is gone,"

Pragya went crazy. She couldn't think straight after hearing Xi'er's words.

"Come again? Where did he go?" she ran out of the store. She wasn't sure where to go. Who to ask,

She ran here and there like a stranger on the road, asking the people around: "Have you seen the boy? He is a 10-year-old boy. Have you seen him, he's this much tall..." she put her hands along her waist to show Dong's approximate height.

But no one answered. They simply reply, "No, I didn't see him," and go back to work.

"Dong... Dong... Dong... Where are you, my son? Dong..." she shouted in the middle of the street. But there is no answer. Her tears flow down unstoppably. Her long hair was messy. Her beautiful black dress was ruined by dust as she fell and stood like crazy.

"Lord, you cannot take him away from me like this," she cried.
