Chapter 2: Her Crush...or brother???
A voice called out,"All the best sisters..!!". Naturally a smile crept over their faces meeting their senior, Ashwin. Shira's eyes gradually went towards the guy beside, who was of her height yet her senior.. and her crush....Vicky. As their eyes met he wished them. Just a few words and a few seconds of eye contact with their crushes is enough for girls to hype up.
Shira thought this excitement is the thing called 'love' and expected it to make her heart beat faster., Little did she knew that there was someone else, more than a mere crush to make her heart flutter.
After a long course of sincere study both the girls, Shira and Tina, her hangout friend walked towards the school ground to steal a few glances of their crushes. A friend is known to push us into hell in an instant., and that's what Tina did. As she started teasing Shira watching over her crush, she called out Vicky over to them, so effortlessly. " oooo.. it feels like I am going to die of embarrassment. I don't get a good feeling about this." Shira thought becoming nervous. He came over to them and faced Shira
"How is your preparations going on ...SISTER". Oops.. that was unexpected.
Shira who was about to go over cloud nine fell instantly to break her fantasy over the word 'sister' which was unnecessarily highlighted. In her society, referring people as 'sister' or 'brother' flashes our limit to maintain a safe distance. She wasn't sad or happy, just blank. It is not like she expected something else from that guy who already was in love with Shira's classmate. After she spoke with him..
"Are you okay?" Tina asked her.
"This is how crushes turn into brothers right... That was a safe move.. you know" giggled Shira.
"As if she would start dating him right away" mumbled and deeply sighed Tina.
Yes, Shira always thought love and relationships to be an unnecessary thing and only infactuation caused by puberty. Such an innocent grown up she is....
The days rolled down to finally her last day at school. It was march 18,2020. A special unforgettable day because , it was only her class in the whole school which was shut down due to Covid lockdown which was just imposed.
A new phase of her life starts here. She bid farewell to her friends and the school and reached her home to only be surprised by her father's words.
"We will be departing to our previous school after a few relaxations of lockdown"
She was actually filled with happiness about the thought of going back to her friends, sad about leaving the puppies next door and baffled about the Covid situation outside.
